In Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Virginia) they are but sm
I was disturbed to hear on the 12 o'clock news they will only help Katrina victims who are living with relatives. I think its a SHAME.
Gift of gab is a gift in deed. Not having it has cost me dearly.
I became an MT because of my interest in medical field, fascination with the work and yes, a lack of social skills. I really did think that my work would speak for me.
CMT re-cert observation
Am I missing something? It's cheaper for me to redo the test from scratch than to buy the recertification/educational materials.
Keeping up cert costs too
I was a CMT for 20 years before I finally let it go. Only one company I worked for in all that time paid extra for the CMT; then they were bought by Medquist who didn't care. If you ever change companies - voluntarily or otherwise - the CMT may no longer bring you extra cash. Remember, too, that you'll have to pay to keep up the cert. I went to the conventions every year. They ran me at least $1000 then with registration, airfare, hotel, food, ground transportion, etc. Worked in-house then, and my employers didn't reimburse. I was *lucky* I could get my vacation then. It would probably be more now; everything else is. If you don't have PTO where you work, then it will cost you what you would have made for those days as well. Perhaps you're lucky and have a strong local chapter that will provide you CEs for much less cost and aggravation. If you use the articles in the Journal, it will still cost. Plus, it's not just any credit-worthy activity, it's one from column A, two from column B, etc. It makes it much harder to get what you need (which may or may not have anything to do with what you REALLY need to improve your skills). I didn't regret it while I was doing it, but I wouldn't do it again unless forced. I hoped for 20 years that it would mean more than *personal satisfaction*, but it never did.
what is TVPS?

if you look - the cert letter is dated 2008
click on the tabs there, they are not in good standing for state taxes up to 2008
I have to say that I buy a lot of products from TVPS and have never had a
problem. Before calling the BBB and credit card company, why not try again to contact the company? People are always so quick to jump and complain to the BBB, when situations can be resolved. I would suggest calling and asking to speak to Tom Wilkes directly. His extension is 101.
BTW, I do not work for TVPS, I own an MTSO and only purchase from them.
Be careful when doing business with TVPS, also known
as Executive Communication Systems. I bought a foot pedal from them that was SUPPOSED to be compatible with a particular program. Right out of the box it didn't work. Told me to send it back and they would repair it (shipping at my expense of course). Received the foot pedal back and it will work for a little while and then won't work and I have to reinstall it. They say the only way to unstall it is to unplug it from the computer. I'm sitting right in front of the computer with a job open and the *$#*$!#@)$ pedal doesn't work. I have asked to return the pedal (again I eat the expense) and get a refund and they refuse. I paid $75.00+ for a pedal, had to pay nearly $9.00 to send it back for repairs, and now they won't give me my money back. I can't even sell it to try to recoup some of my money, because I don't want to shaft someone like they did me.
I'm going to file with the BBB and also my credit card company.
tvps.com is offering same day shipping if ordered by 3p. nm

Wow! 105 in Virginia!
Is that a record?? It is hot in the West, even moreso than usual. Im ready for it to go away and for the kiddies to go back to school.
out of Virginia?
If so, don't fool with them, very unorganized and they send contracts that do not pertain to the job offered. They are another company that delights in taking money from you. I was offered QA and turned it down due to the contract.
