Administrator, I am having this problem again with the boards being blocked. Not sure if it has

First, you need to remove 4 screws to replace/remove your hard drive. (sm)
Once the screws are all removed, the hard drive (4 x 4 x 2) is sitting in the bottom of the cage. This won't always be the situation, (some really cheap cages are open at the bottom, so the instant the last screw is removed the drive drops if you aren't holding on). Oddly enough, this is the most critical stage of replacing a hard drive, in the sense that removing the drive through the case where the ribbon cables are bunched up and over the CPU and heatsink is most likely to create another problem. If the cables are long enough, you can leave them attached to the hardrive as you slide it out, but don't try pulling through a mess, clear a path first. If you are discarding the entire unit, dont worry about being gentle handed.
You don't need to remove the key, remove the shortcut assigned to the key
in the customize keyboard dialog box.

This year I did not put my artificial tree up. This is the first year without a tree at Christmas in many, many years. But our children are grown and the grandkids will not be here this year so I decided to skip it. I do love my tree up and really enjoy it but at 50-something I no longer have the energy to do it. Instead, I decorated the house very simply with candles and several nativity sets. I think my home looks Christmasy and it won't be too difficult to put it all away.

We had a sink hole starting in our backyard once, it was small at first but was getting deeper and wider. That year we planted our live Christmas tree in the hole, with some additional dirt and gravel, etc. My husband figured the roots would help hold the soil in place and it seemed to work for us... no more hole, just a beautiful evergreen.

Hi, all! Does anyone know how to get rid of tree stumps? Specifically, has anyone ever burned them down to ash? If so, what did you use to keep the fire going, and how long did it take? TIA.

There are products you can buy that provide microorganisms to the stump that will start the deterioration process and the stump will rot naturally.
You can have the stump ground out. You'll get a variety of prices. If you decide to go this route, please make sure the company you choose is insured and bonded and licensed.
If you decide to try to burn the stump out, you could find it takes a LOT longer that you ever imagined. Also, once you begin to burn the stump, it will make it almost impossible to grind the stump after that if you change your mind about methods of removal. The fire and heat applied to the stump make it extremely dry and hard and.
I had a tree and some big limbs fall due to the past hurricanes in Florida and thought I was going to have to have the stump ground out. I had to call a tree service to trim the other trees in my yard and while there, I had them look at the stump. They were actually able to "bump" the stump out of the ground in less than a minute with a small Bobcat they had brought.
Just be sure to investigate all your options before making your decision. Good luck! :)

I am in the process of burning out some stumps on my property right now (along with a huge brush pile). The guy who is doing it for me has 30 yrs experience and he says that burning it is not always the best method because it can continue burning through the root system for a long time and could crop up in another place and start a fire (not much worry for that at my place right now as I have about 3 ft of snow on the ground). So, burning can be done, just be real careful.
disappearing cursor...PLEASE HELP
I am going crazy. I do not know why, but all of a sudden my cursor seems to be disappearing on my. It sure seems that everytime I go into anything via IE I have problems.
At any rate,does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Have you made sure your mouse is connected properly to the back of your computer? Take it out and re-plug it back in and see if that helps.

Same here last week. I had a prelite tree
and it was smelling hot. When I checked it the plug had melted into the power strip. Tossed it out immediately and bought a new tree. Glad you and your family are okay. Merry Christmas!

Expander that lists next to cursor
I would like to know if there is an Expander out there that will actually list the expansion next to our cursors while we type so we do not have to look down at the bottom of the monitor to see the expansion. I know if the expansions popped up in front of me I would use them more. Just curious

Sometimes my cursor just starts moving all by itself to the right in a remarkable speed!
It only stops when I hit 'scroll lock'; when I release it after some time, it's o.k.
What might cause this?

involuntary cursor movement
Mine does that on occasion. It must be an optical mouse. You can clean the bottom of the mouse and brush off your mouse pad....that helps for me.

Is there a way to synchronize keystrokes with cursor blink?
It seems as if my Keystrokes are made but the cursor landing the typed letter on the screen are not in time, if that makes sense. It does not happen in wordpad just in the Meditech portion of my program.
I went into control panel and adjusted cursor blink but then it was worse, adjusted time to "fast" on the slide scale but that also made it worse. Am I doomed to the fact that when I hit a key, the character I typet will appear in a nanosecond as opposed to immediately?

The report comes up and you listen and hope the cursor down SM
the page to each point where a correction is required. Some platforms have macros that allow you to jump cursor position to where the voice dictation and vice versa (nice), and some require you to arrow and hop around manually (not so good).
You make word-expander-type macros for the usual corrections so you just drop them in with a couple Keystrokes while you and the dictation are already moving ahead on down the page.
While the computer is learning a dictator, there are many corrections to make. Later on, it's mostly listening, and you speed the dictation up faster and faster, until you're listening to many dictators as fast as you can make their helium-ish little voices out.
Production is much higher than transcription, so the pay per line is less. I think the companies are still figuring out what reasonable production and pay are for their new systems.
Plus, there're new-generation smart-systems being developed out there that are crazy good at understanding the dictators and providing copy requiring very little correction.
I'm one of those who prefers editing, which allows me to cruise thru many more reports and work at a hgiher skill level without the typing. Where it's all heading I don't know, but I'm mostly enjoying the ride, willy-nilly.

I had to remove one from the kitchen a little
It was the middle of the night, as I was walking towards the kitchen, I noticed the snake (maybe 14" long, maybe 2" in diameter) side winding towards the refrigerator. I am a nature person but only to a certain degree, so don't want the snakes in my home or any reptile for that matter. I bent down as far as I could with my arthritic hips, scooped the snake up into a dust pan with my arthritic fingers as fast as I could (which wasn't very fast) and walked it up my very steep driveway towards a nearby drain. I didn't want to kill it, just get it far away from the house as I could. I never heard from it again. However, I have bird feeders near the house and maybe that is why I had to even deal with it being in my home in the first place. Not much of a reptile or insect person. I remove the lizards from the house too instead of killing but will spray or destroy insects.

The best method for removing Spyware is called "Spybot Search and Destroy" It is available from downloads.com. http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10804822.html that page will start the download right away, it's a safe link. It is also a free program. Spybot will clean the PC, and when you run the "immunize" program it will keep things safer. Also if you install "Teatimer" which is included, it will warn you if something is trying to make a change, such as a website that tries to change your home page or add to the registry. Teatimer can become annoying when you are installing software though, because it pops up every time the new software tries to make a change to warn you, and you have to click "approve change" if you're in the middle of installing something.
On another note, I have found that just running Firefox instead of Internet Explorer has saved me from many problems as well.

I cannot remove DQS for a year now
I have been unable to uninstall DocQScribe for a year now from my computer.
Has anyone else had these problem or can help me remove DQS from my computer.
I have already tried to removed from the program's list under the startup button as well as the add/remove program section. I keep getting an error message not allowing me to remove the program from my computer.

I went into add/remove programs, then had to go into
start and search, and it still was coming back. If you Google you can find out how others have gotten rid of it also, that helped me a lot. OMG - that is awful, isnt it, that message that keeps coming up haha,

I use Registry Mechanic and it does remove--
old and unwanted/unneeded registries from your registry. What you saw was probably just an advertisement and had not actually run a scan. It is good to have a program that does scan and clean out your registry though, as it frees up much needed hard drive space and keeps unwanted invaders that creep into your registry unknown by you when you visit other sites. I don't know anything about the program that was advertised to you though. Just my experiences.

You can remove the built-in shortcut from the Insert key. sm
Go into Tools, Customize, then click the Keyboard button. Scroll down and click on All Commands in the left window. Scroll down the right window and click on the Overtype command. Click on the command in the current keys box, then click Remove.
Can someone tell me how to remove a word from spell check?
I'm using ExText (Word based?), ran spell check, and accidentally clicked on 'Add' (adding a misspelled word) when I meant to click on 'Change' (to change it to the correctly spelled word). I know, I know, I shouldn't be using the mouse, I should be using the Keystrokes anyway, right?. LOL
But now that I have a misspelled word in spell check, how do I remove it? Does anyone know? TIA!
