Ditto to all comments....

RUN, don't walk, RUN as far away as possible from that.  Have a friend, OMG, dedicated jealot, past national secretary for AAMT, just went to conference out west.  They are doing nothing to enhance the AMERICAN transcriptionists.  You need to keep your money and not invest into tests, dues, meetings. You are going to need it in your savings account.

I have been around some very powerfrul players in AAMT since 1973.  What a complete turn around to the AAMT way of doing business.  The mouth pieces for AAMT have a battle cry to ship our jobs out to overseas, have all accounts become SR/VR, encourage cutting pennies to producing transcriptionists so they, AAMT, can keep the change left over, or should I say the service owners as I  believe a huge portion of AAMT representatives throughout the US and overseas are service owners, Presidents of services, CEO of services, Software Engineers of services, etc. Book of the Month Club services....

Do NOT believe what they say..... I am STILL WAITING for my "monies worth" that they promised everyone back in the 70's and 80's,.  I have never been nor ever will be a CMT, and I could have grand-fathered into the entire AAMT system, and I refused.  I saw no benefit of it then and definitely not now.

And, I just say, I Bless the Lord every day for my job.  I love it.  I have made very good money in it.  But, AAMT has definitely degraded our profession over the past 10 years.  They are now the fat cows, while new transcriptionists are paying the dues to AAMT by not having the opportunities to make the moneies we were able to make in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's.   SO .....................

KEEP YOUR MONEY - INVEST IT INTO UP-TO-DATE - TOP-OF-THE-LINE EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, AND REFERENCE MATERIALS.  You will be much smarter for doing so.
