I was only fooled into joining AAMT for the first year I transcribed (15 years ago). It is so obviously a money maker for them. It doesn't not mean a fig in real life. I have never had trouble getting jobs and/or accounts withOUT the CMT designation...It is a snob-appeal thing, I think.
