We're transcriptionists not nurses or doctors. It's not our job to know treatment for diagnosis. Of course over the years, you pick a lot of it up but it's not in the job description.
I think an accurate CMT test would be a very difficult ESL doctor dictating very difficult H&Ps or Op notes. If you can get through some really difficult ESL in various medical specialties without any blanks and get 100% accuracy, you have passed the test.
Just like everything else these days, nobody knows what the H... is going on. It's like all of a sudden your 30 years of experience is no longer valid unless you pay them to take some stupid test and of course, the test is totally inappropriate and has no bearing on whether you will be successful as an MT or not. Maybe they would prefer a nurse or a doctor to type up the reports. Do you think they could do it? I doubt it.
It's just another money-making scheme and pretty shabby.
