Hug your kids extra tight tonight. (sm)
It will make you feel better, but he will DEFINITELY need it. Be prepared for it to take a few days to really affect him. I went thru something like this last year with my 12yo. There was a bomb at her school. She was OK until 2 days later, and then she just totally lost it. She said, "oh my God, Mom, we all could have just been gone."
I need ideas for how to get kids to not ring the doorbell tonight after....sm

the light is off on the porch and it's getting late, i.e. after 9 p.m.   It amazes me the # of kids .... and adults... who don't use good common sense about trick-or-treating and ignore the usual "lights on means ok to knock/ring, lights off means go away/no goodies" rules that have been around for decades.

I'm thinking about turning on the lawn sprinkler close to the front door - but some idiots would probably just run through it.

In the past I've put the dog out on her tie-out in the front yard and that scares some away, but the people that my dog knows get by her by just petting her because she knows them.

What are your plans/recommendations?

grilling out burgers
and of course, a few cold ones to wash the burgers down!
Anything! Flipping burgers will be better!

Do you have fries with that?
NM
Would U like fries with that?
OMG, this is too weird! Last night I went thru the drive-thru at Arbys, gave my order, the person asked if I wanted a drink, I said what do U have and she named all these brands (one of which I didn't think they had in my area so I excitedly said Wow I didn't think that was available - I'll have that!), got to the pick-up window and the girl said they didn't actually have that particular drink. I told her I was just told they did and she said "Oh, well, the order taker is doing that job remotely from India, I think." So its come to this...
About those fries....

Bob for French fries!!
LOL
How do you make your fries?

Great analogy to you want fries with that

Often I "find" things in IT that I did not realize I had in there by just glancing when I am typing something that I feel should have an expansion.

The marker keys are a challenge to get used to, I couldn't use spacebar because I was using DQS when I got IT, so I also have my old Autocorrect still active and that works on the spacebar.  I use semi and backslash for my markers - I think.  The muscle memory is so old that I truly can't remember, it just happens.

I agree with the poster who said to work on one thing at a time and once you notice that it has become easy to do without any thought then move onto something else.  I started with working on the phrase side because it is the biggest bang for your buck - more characters with fewer keystrokes.

I think the key to being successful with IT after the learning curve is finding a rhythm and just keep filling it up with expansions that make sense to you so you don't have to search for them.  I often use the first two words of a long phrase as the short form because it will show up if I start typing it and I can just marker the rest of it in.

I wish you good luck figuring it out and would encourage you to stick with it and find your own tricks to it, as I think it really makes a difference in the fatigue factor, which is more important some days than line count.

I think someone mentioned Productivity Talk and the IT website, which both have lots of tips and tricks too.

Hot dogs and homemade french fries.

BBQ burgers and hot dogs, corn on the cob, Bush's baked beans, and potato salad.
Except I made the potato salad yesterday.
Do little kids like caramel? My big kids won't even eat it! We make the basic Baker's chocolat
s
I never said you shouldn't have kids! Feeling guilty? I asked WHY you had kids.
You clearly stated in your post that you ship the kids off to camp all day, and they're TIRED AT NIGHT!!  You know exactly what you said.  You said it as a PERK - AS IN GREAT! They're gone all day, it wears them out, and so I shovel dinner in their mouths and off to bed!  You can try to paint it any way you want, but YOU SAID IT.  Again, I only hope your kids never hear you speak that way or write that way. Shame on you.  Why have kids at all?  Just another parent who has them, gets rid of them for day AND night, BRAGS ABOUT IT, and then calls ME wicked!  Give me a break!  Camp is fine - its WHAT YOU SAID AND YOU KNOW IT.  Your own words showed your heart. Period.
Kids are demanding and so is MT work. My question is how CAN you do this with kids, rather than how
When you have two young kids, 11 months apart, (like I stated they are now 4 and 5) and have been doing this since they were born with no help from their father and no family around, YES, the kids get neglected. Part time might work but living on one salary, part time, is not an option. How can you possible tell me that anyone with two young kids can stay at home and work a full-time, 8-hour shift, and still give their kids the attention they NEED. I dont care how good you are at multitasking and how great your organizational skills are. It is a very difficult thing to do. And I am offended by your post making it sound as if it is easy to do.

I do agree that it can depend on how well your kids behave and how well they are able to play on their own. But my kids were not able to play well on their own. They needed constant attention.

So please take the time to realize that there are people out there in different situations than your own.

Reading our posts should help you to understand that everyone has a different situation. I believe everyone should have the right to shares their experiences as it might benefit the original poster in her questions and concerns.

I dont think anyone should be bashed for taking the time out to write about their experiences. I dont usually come on here to argue but you really ticked me off with your post. And try reading the post correctly. I said next time around I would have put them in day care. What I DID do with them was set them up to an activity like art or put on a movie for them. Geez.
Stayed "because of the kids?" I say "leave because of the kids"
You're in no position to buy right now. Keep saving, keep paying down your bills, and for heaven's sake get rid of that dead weight of a BF you're living with. You can do better.
So, should I return the $75 (x2 kids) in music cards I got the kids for x-mas...sm
My son has been telling me about free music sites and I was very leary.  How do they skirt the law Radguy?
I don't have kids, but my Mom was from the "old school," and still had everyone, kids inclu

call her by her first name.  The little neighbor girl next door from the time she could speak called her Aggie (my mom's first name), and they were great buddies until the day my mom pased away.

I don't think there really is much in a name, but more in the respect you are given and the way you are treated.   Personally, I kind of cringe inside when someone calls me Ms. Anything or God forbid, "maam" (makes me feel like Methuselah!) ... I'm always just plain Merrie.  :-)

But, as someone pointed out, to each his own.  If you want to be addressed a certain way, you have that right, and people should respect that.  I'm glad you corrected the child ... hope it "sticks."

Right, that's what I do, it's a game!
They seem to be trained to speed-speak anyway, so why not join in on the fun!
This is not a game.
If there really is an error on page 50, please let me know where it is, and I will mark my book accordingly, so I don't have to cross-reference every term on that page wiith Stedman's until I find it.  To me this is neither fun nor funny.  I only type one specialty and there are many terms obsscure enough to me that I won't automatically spot them as a typo.
Please do not simply give up, kids or no kids!
Talk with a professional. This can be worked through if he really puts forth the effort and you participate. The right counseling can truly make your marriage even better than it was before, if BOTH parties are willing to be honest. Give it a try. Nothing to lose at this point and everything to gain!
Yep, except the game with Bill
was minus the odor and the little white crabs marching around the stogie.
Game ideas

At one party for my daughter, I wrapped up a small, age-appropriate gift in several (maybe 5-7, I don't remember) layers of wrapping paper.  Then the girls sat in a circle and passed the present around to music.  When the music stopped, whoever was holding the gift got to remove 1 layer of paper.  The one who took of the last layer of paper, got the gift.

Also, our youth group had a balloon tower contest.  Each team had a bunch of balloons and several rolls of clear tape.  Then they had 10 minutes to blow up the balloons and build a tower using the tape.  Whoever built the biggest tower won.  Of course, we had some older kids in the youth group.  Younger kids might have trouble tying the balloons.

Well those of us that have figured it out know your game :)

At least I know enough to offer to make my husband a sandwich when he's looking through the new truck section in the paper.

Works every time.

Need is not a factor in this game. (see m)
There is absolutely no point to having a game at all if you are going to give the money to whoever "needs" it.

It's a competition, pure and simple. Sometimes wealthier people are wealthier for a reason: they are competitive. But I definitely believe that in no way ever should need be considered. That just completely detracts from the spirit of the game.
blame game..........sm

As for the *blame game* - most states and MOST judges don't care....they don't care if your spouse is caught in bed with people.  Hopefully the OP's state is like that.  Many states today are *no contest* states.  If you want a divorce, you can get a divorce in most states with no contesting.  If the OP's state is not like this - is not a *no contest* state, the OP needs to file for a divorce in another state, where the OP would need to get residency status in that particular state (using someone's address who you know real well).

Persistence is the name of the game

Your brochure/flyer/business card has to be there at the time they need someone.  You need to do multiple mailings and concentrate on those areas you want to work.  Use your present accounts for referrals, offer rewards, etc.  I have a secret of getting past the front desk but have been laughed at in the past but it works.  But just like selling a house, it takes many open houses to find the person that wants your house so it is the same here.  Just do mailings about 3 months apart, they will begin to remember your name.

Oh well then it is fair game if not following
BOS.  It could be interpreted any number of ways really.  I would probably "sticky-note" it and let the doctor review it to be certain though.  We aim to please, us nonBOS'ers.  You are not saying though Patti, that all clinic notes, in general, do not follow BOS are you?  You are just simply stating that you do not follow BOS for your clinic notes, I am assuming.
This game is kind of fun!
Can you find the typo on page 50 of the BOS?
I think some drs see dictation as a game. How

Yup, it's an endless game (sm)
with downloading the supposedly free versions to find infections, then wanting you to spend money for the fix.  It's like you are in between a rock and a hard place.  Hopefully, someone with experience on this matter will offer their opinion(s).
By any name, the rotten game is still the same! nm

I'm game. And I could use a vacation, even if
I can't afford to do anything but watcth TV. (As long as I still have electricity, that is...)
Please, stop the Blame Game
Again, aren't we all in the same boat here - FT, PT, IC, SE, we are all MTs... isn't the point here that those of us who are having a difficult time with the co. we work for (specifically, for me, MQ) that we are all trying to validate, encourage, and hopefully figure out a way to hold the COMPANY responsible??? I don't know the answer, but I DO KNOW that blaming each other, ICs, SEs, FT employees, whatever, is NOT the answer. Geez.
Frankie likes this game
If you only knew, my dear.

We used to play the game that former president Bill Clinton and Ms. Monica Lewinsky played. Do you remember that game they played with the stogie?
And that was after the guy playing a video game

Feast or Famine is the name of the game at FN
As the previous poster said, the workflow for the last few months has been horrible. My pay has been severely cut due to the overhiring they have done.

If you don't mind starving for a while (LOL), it's an okay company to deal with, with the exception of their QA department, which I believe are some of the rudest I've ever come across.

Pay seems pretty good if you don't mind not having bennies or direct deposit.

Overall, I would give them a "C".
No it does not show in the game controller
machine and it is not recognized in the game controller there either. But thank you anyway.
I used to own a game called Kensington . . .
It is an awesome game that can be played by two players or with teams, red and blue pegs, and a board with triangles, squares, and hexagons, with the object being to be the first person or team to fill-in all points of a hexagon with your pegs(of either your peg color or one of the white ones).

It is very fun, but an ex-roommate has mine, and I have only found used copies available on-line, but have not as of yet followed through with a purchase.

I also like Uno, Spades, and Farkle . . . to name a few.
Picky is the name of the game IMHO. Either it's right or it's not.

is it a game port adapter?
If it is, you may have to click on "gameport" on Express Scribe
Does anyone use a game port pedal and use
I am considering employment with a company that uses a pedal for the audio that may require a sound card be installed on my PC.  I currently use a USB wav pedal to receive dictation that are dss files, wav, etc.  Does anyone know if I can install the sound card and still use the USB wav pedal or would that take a lot of tinkering back and forth.  I am considering Zylomed, and I think they use MT World.  Would anyone be able to offer any information regarding this type of situation?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dodgeball is a horrible game.
We had to play with the boys, and they could throw really hard. I weighed half what they did, and I was terrified.
Actually, dodge ball is the one game I

During the Packers game they showed
current temperatures around the world. Greenland, Moscow, Alaska were all around 20 degrees. In Greenbay, WI, it was -2 degrees! Funny.

I guess I don't know how to play the game
When your employer cuts your pay (I'm an IC) to the tune of about $400 a month and tells you if you don't like it you can go elsewhere...and every place else pays even less.

-scratching head-

It's not ME undervaluing myself, it's the market and employers who get away with not paying a livable wage.
