office buildings, workshops - business building depreciation is usually your largest business deduction and may save you from having to pay taxes - you could actually end up with a loss, thanks to the depreciation deduction. If the building is sold, however, you have to go back and 'recapture' that depreciation. So business building expense depreciation has nothing to do with real estate appreciation.
