Bruised rib? Help!

I just noticed yesterday that my right rib is protruding more. When you palpate around it there is obvious swollen tissue (?) on the outside. It does not hurt, there is no bruise or tenderness. There is no bite mark or scratch. I don't have insurance until April 1 and I'm sort of scared about it. Any ideas or suggestions? Is it possible it is just bruised without any tenderness? It isn't hard, but just what I would consider inflamed.
