Bilateral ear infections

Oh -- Let me tell you a good story about ear infections. Not too long ago I had a bad one. I could not hear anything. Because I couldn't hear at all -- I sent an E-mail to my supervisor saying I would not be able to work my shift. The response? I should have called. How can you call on the telephone if you cannot hear?????? Perhaps my 6-year-old should have called and said "my mommy can't work today." LOL At least I had sent the E-mail. Cannot tell you how many times I call in for my shift to find a dry typing pool. I guess they should call me prior and tell me not to bother to take the time to update my PC and ready it for work because there isn't any.

totally agree, I have bilateral CTS sm
I keep typing waaaay down.

I don't like to rely on Autocorrect, tho, because it's so easy to lose. Nonetheless, I do it. ;-)

For things like you mention, I have a REALLY weird method. I don't like to make my fingers reach up to number keys; keeps my speed up.

coct = C1-C2 (o for one, t for two)
ctct = C2-C3
ctcf = C3-C4

Naturally, like you say, if a doc wants it differently, then I have to create more abbv's.

I just checked Instant Text, and I have about 30,000 abbv's. I am adding constantly myself. I totally agree. WHY make extra work for yourself. I think you're right... does it slow you down to add all that stuff... well, maybe in the moment, but for how many times you are going to use that, it's worth it.

Bilateral screaming mammogram
The doctor said that, then got so tickled at herself that she could hardly go on with the dictation.
Bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
I have the above, and neurologist told me that at all times to keep my wrists turned outwards and not bent inwards. This, along with wrist splints, have helped me tremendously and I have no need for surgical intervention.
I had bilateral arthroscopic knee surgery for sm
internal derangement, synovitis, chondromalacia, etc. The doc told me I would have "healing pain" that would be worse than the original pain as my patellae learned to track in the proper groove. It took several months before I stopped having pain. I had all kinds of fluid--big bags of fluid flopping under my knees,stiffness, swelling, and heat. For lunch break I'd walk the length of the mall next door and at home would do plies (sp?) (ballet) while holding and cuddling my 10-pound cat. It was a long, long haul, but it eventually ended. Wish I hadn't waited so long for that surgery!

You'll get better. It takes a while.
in fact I wear bilateral aids... some is familial loss; SM
but have to wonder how much is related to 25 years of headset use as well
I have bilateral tinnitus and HATE it. White noise or radio softly on helps get my mind off of it.
