In Reply to: I think I have sleep apnea...dread the testing. Anyone have this? - Sleepy head

Most sleep centers are set up like luxury hotels with pretty rooms.  You will have a lot of electrodes attached, but, honestly you get used to them quickly (at least I did, and I'm an extremely light sleeper).  Bring comfy sleepwear and your own pillow if you want to, and a book if it will help you sleep (there's usually a TV and DVD in most rooms, from what I understand).

The study will be worth it.  You'll feel better about your apnea status, one way or the other.  CPAP has been a dream (pardon the pun) for a lot of people.  I've had some trouble getting used to it, but on good nights it really is wonderful not to wake up short of breath and with a headache.  I'm also told I have huge tonsils so I'm thinking about a tonsillectomy and palatoplasty.

Good luck with this.  It's all do-able and the study really will be just a blip (by the way, DON'T drink any caffeine that day or lots of sugar).
