sites that play random music videos? I am getting sick of my own radio stations and am looking for a couple of new ones to listen to while I work. Top 40 or 70's through today.

While the internet is a good resource, I
also have reference books. Stedman's Medical and Surgical Equipment Word Book that I cannot live without. For drugs, rxlist.com and http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/drugsatfda/index.cfm?fuseaction=Search.Search_Drug_Name are both good. Also, mt911.com has multiple resource sites for sample reports, abbreviations, drug searches, etc.
Also, if you are doing 1 specific speciality, the Stedman's book for that speciality is a good resource. For example, I do some ophthalmology and am not familiar with that, so I have the speciality for that. Sometimes it is just easier to have a book where you can pull up the specific thing you are looking for; i.e., the listing "catheter" brings up pages of catheters. THis is much easier for me than guessing at a spelling on the internet and coming up with literally hundreds of choices.
a good resource can be found on the internet
You can go to the labor sites for various states and it will give you some, if not not all, of the information you seek. If it doesn't, it can give you phone numbers to investigate further.
Need good internet reference for doctors
The several places I have stored for some reason gone out of the business. Need to look up these names when not spelled which is almost never. Thanks.
So do you think gas stations should discount gas for us pumping our own gas?
I'd rather scan and bag items I am purchasing, folding them the way I want to and separating them then pump gas out in the cold with the smell of gasoline on my hands.

14.00/hr for radiology private contractor job/PT, internet based. Good dictation.
When he said we pay by the hour not the line, I was unprepared to give him my fee! I typed for these rads when I worked at the hospital so know them well. About two hours per day of work for their outpatient imaging center (MRIs, CTs, mammograms, ultrasounds).
Thanks!
i forwarded it to our local tv stations in my area. nm

Question about DAC digital work stations.
I have a DAC digital workstation and I dial into a DVI system to transcribe. I have horrible static whenever I transcribe. The phone line is clear as a bell when I talk on the line, but when I am using my digital station, it is horrible. I have tried two different DAC models and have the same problems with both.
Any suggestions?
I've seen it advertised on three different stations and I'm so confused! Probably rerurns tho

ECS in San Diego rents VDI stations programmed to act as C-phones
They give you the rental monies paid towards purchase of a C-pone also.
Internet based transcription - need advice on how to go internet
Can anyone offer any help/advice on how go about becoming internet based from a call in system, or how to keep the call in system for the docs and put transcriptionists on the internet? Not sure where to start to get information on how to go about doing this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Good drug book vs. internet drug sites
I need to buy a new drug book. At a prior job, about a year ago, one of the supervisors told me she used the internet exclusively. What's the consensus and if you prefer the internet, which site or sites do you like. Thanks in advance.
If you want to work on the internet from home, take an internet course
But only from Andrews School or M-TEC. Many companies will waive the 2-years' experience requirement and will test and hire you if you go to either of those schools. Do NOT bother with At Home Professions, Penn Foster, US Career Institute, or ESPECIALLY Trans-Am, which is also known as Trans-SCAM and is a total ripoff. You will have a VERY difficult time getting hired without experience unless you choose Andrews School or M-TEC. Yes, they cost more, but that's because they are excellent training programs, not "correspondence courses."
radio
My treadmill is still buried, but it is also a resolution of mine. :)
Ask hubby if he will wear a headset. Unlikely, I know. I wouldn't want to. Does his radio have an antennae? or is it hooked into cable. Ours, once hooked into cable, got way less static. Best of luck!!
Sorry should have said he was on radio
here and every now and then has a television special. Great guy!
Why? No different than a radio or any other

Radio Shack
I have 3 pedals hooked up and needed another serial port. Radio Shack has the adapter you plug into your USB for about 20.00. Worked like a charm. The only tricky part is finding the right port listed in the program you are using.
Listen to him on radio
I sometimes listen to him while doing my late afternoon pick-up and deliveries on the radio. I have also found out that a lot of time giving praise and appreciation to them when they do the job -- even though it is not to our satisfaction or as well as we can --gives them incentive to do more. We don't like to be cut down all the time and have to re-do and so even though it may not be up to my standards I try to let the kids know that I appreciate it -- unless of course they have done a poor job on purpose -- another subject.
Radio Shack
They sell a very inexpensive adapter for serial and/or game port to USB. Mine works fine with Dictaphone EXText, eScription EditScript, etc. I think I paid $10 for it at a local store.
You can search radio shack online and see if your local store has them in stock or can get them. many many new computers are going to exclusively USB ports, no more serial or parallel
radio shack has it all.

Might try Radio Shack. n,
.
I got one at Radio Shack
I told them what I wanted. It was a little plug-in and to switch from one computer to the other, I just hit ScrLk 2 times. Super easy to hook up and super cheap too!
try radio shack..
Try radio shack...for the past 4 or 5 days have been having very poor quality voice out of the blue - couldn't figure if it was my computer or phone lines or the client - but for 19.95 from R Shack I have ordered a head set that covers over background noise and also has a low/hi volume control, which I think I will really like...will let you know how it is when I get it if you are still having problems...the radio shack guy said he had 3 orders before mine...so maybe the MT world was aware they were on sale...Good Luck!
Did you try Radio Shack????
They have those adapters and they're cheap. They have all KINDS of adapters. Also replacement foams of various types.
sirrius radio help
My husband has it in his car and I would like to listen at home, called customer service and the person had a limited knowledge of English so I had trouble understanding her. (Went to their website). Do I need an antenna and special radio or what? It sounds like the price is inclusive once I get the equipment for the home radio. Thanks
Yep, they dictate in noisy nursing stations, dictate in the ER, dictate in the OR when they are
cleaning up banging around and we are supposed to hear them. So much for HIPPA.
I listen to Dr. Joy Brown sometimes on the radio
e-mail her or call her and see what she says. She gives pretty good advice and is FREE!!
If you can be positive about this relationship, you can be positive about yourself and meeting someone else. Remember, your gut feeling is what's right, and I think I know what your gut is telling you or you wouldn't be posting this in the first place, you just need someone to back you up. Don't waste any more time. & don't talk about THE REST OF YOUR LIFE -- you have choices you can make in this too as much as he has the choice to do/not do something -- it's just that you have the choice to stay in this stagnent pool of muck or get out, clean yourself off and never return to the dirty pool. Who knows what the future holds for you, but if you stay with him it will just be this same cycle over and over again, unfortunately. I say cut your losses now.

On Hannity on radio just now - weatherman said will be 4/maybe 5 and hit
That was what was on Hannity's radio show at 3:00 p.m. central time when he was interviewing a weatherman who has been in the business since 1978 and whose dad graduted in 1965 from Texas A&M in weather - so he has sure studied weather a long time (he says since he was 5 yo).
Something to think about.
i have found that radio shack has
several adapters to choose from to convert to a USB port. with each newer version of computers they seem to be cutting out the older types of ports (like used for older foot pedals/game ports, etc) and using "s" connections, usb, etc. the computer that I have from 1995 has different ports than the tower I bought last summer and my laptop that I bought last summer so I have to use an adapter and everything is fine.
radio shack; have bought several there nm

You might try a filter that you can get from Radio Shack.
It is probably just interference from something in your neighborhood, perhaps a ham operator or something like that?
We love our Bose radio too
We also just hooked up an external CD player to our Bose radio and you get the Bose sound quality that way. They are a great sound in a tiny pkg.!
Radio Shack in Portland, OR has them -- nm
Found them there
Radio Shack headphones
Yes, several people are recommending those Radio Shack Koss headphones (I am getting some emails too). It looks like those might be the ones to try!
When I was on-site I listened to the radio
not loud though, but there were so many other distractions. Now that I am at home, I enjoy the peace and quiet. We do not live on a busy street, so it is a nice change of pace for me.
Radio Shack carries them. nm

I use DVI too and got an adapter at Radio Shack
for about 17.00. You can check in-store stock on-line to see if a local store may have one.
Radio Shack has lots of different ones. nm

There are Sony ones at Radio Shack sm
that were suggested to me so I bought a pair. They are silver and look sort of like Spock ears when you have them on. I think they come with a year warranty or maybe I bought that for a few cents, can't remember now. I really like those.
Got mine at Radio Shack
I have bought them from Office Depot many times as well. My recent ones came from Radio Shack and are Presidian noise cancelling headphones. I love them.
Background (radio), but I would love to know
if you can have it on your computer, headset, while working. I do not know how to do that, but it would be great to have classical in the background of the dictators!
See my post above about Pandora Radio - sm
I listen to it through my headphones in the background of my dictation.
The volume can be adjusted separately from your dictation and you can pause it if you need to.
I can't even begin to tell you all the choices they have for music. Classical, rock, punk, techno, new age, everything you could possibly imagine... Even Christmas music.
Love my satellite radio
I got my husband one for Christmas two years ago. We actually got the plan for life so we paid, I think $400 or so, and we'll never have to pay for it again. I also have it in my car (it came with it for free for one year). It has so many great stations, something for everyone. I highly recommend it.
The only radio station that plays the music you like is an

Did anyone hear the discussion on radio last night about (sm)
If this evolves as planned, there will be no typing at all by 2010.
I can't stand a TV or radio on while I transcribe, almost anywhere in the house.
nm
i'd be afraid I would type what I heard on the radio
When I worked in-house my manager and a coworker were having a conversation and I typed a couple sentences of it without realizing.
I have a Radio Shack one that was on sale for about $79 but it usuallySM
is around $100 -- a portable one that I bought a power supply for.
I hear everything. Fires, fights, rapes, hostage situations (YES!), wrecks, stabbings, shootings, mean dogs - you name it. I sleep to it.
How lame is that? LOL. I will readily admit I have NO LIFE.
Try moving the radio to another area of the room--
so both electrical signals won't be crossing.
