Gulf coast still devastated
Some of you do not realize how devasating the two hurricanes this past summer were to the coastal states and the country.  If he is working anywhere near the devastation, the areas are congested and nasty.  Trash is still being piled up on the streets, the stench is unreal.  Hotels in Louisiana still house evacuees.  He might just want to spare her from what he has to look at while he is there.  Until you see in first hand, it is unbelievable.  My son had a doctor's appointment in NO a couple of months ago, (Goes to Ochsner once a year), luckily that was one small part of the city that was not devasated, but as soon as you got into NO the smell hits you.  A once beautiful city, still in devasation.  Even where they did have people living, there were still street lights out sporatically everywhere.  I will be a long time if ever.  Sorry, got off the subject.  Just trust your heart and trust your husband.
I feel for them but more so for the people on the MS Gulf Coast who are still in tents sm
its cold here now (27 degrees this a.m.) and some people are STILL sleeping in tents behind the truck stops. :(
East Coast and West Coast are both comparable
as far as line rates.
Where are you located, HE? East Coast, West Coast? nm

X

West coast prices are usually higher (I work for a west coast company) sm

for one thing. I am in a rather economically depressed area and I START my price at .14 and drop a penny for each of several things - no tapes, sending electronically, etc.

This job of the OP may be a bugger-bear to transcribe. Even .14 may be too low.

Gulf Shores --- off subject a bit LOL
I hate to hijack this thread but I'm going to Gulf Shores this weekend hopefully to lay on the beach and relax :). I'm wondering what your weather is like right now. I live in north Georgia, and it has all of a sudden turned cool! Sorry to ask, but when I saw where you live, I just couldn't pass up the chance to ask. Thanks!!
I was scared that was going to happen when the first Gulf War
unless the Stock Market allowed buying stocks on credit, like they did back then, it probably won't come to that. I do think things will continue to get gradually worse, though, until (a) the US can kick the foreign oil habit, and (b) the words "Made in The USA" mean something once again.
You are so right - We had Rita here.
They always say 3 days supply.  We only had a lot of wind and some trees down where I live, power was back on in 2 days, and it took a week before the stores were stocked.  There was barely any meat, dairy, water or ice for at least 4-5 days.  Some stores had it, some didn't.  If we had really gotten hit hard, we would have been out of luck with a 3-day supply.  It certainly taught me a lesson.  I would think people in Florida would know this too.
I didn't get your post either Rita.
Did he do the face lift or not?  If he did the face lift and dictated it at a later date and predated the report then that goes on all of the time.  When a doctor fails to dictate then it is is dictated at a later date but the date of the actual service or the study, etc. is performed usually does not change.
Well Rita, what happened in your case is not the same as...sm
what is being described in the original post. According to the original post, information is being gleaned from other reports and used to generate a new report with a different heading. Same information, different report type. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with making things up or "putting things in that did not happen or exist." If the information in the transcriptionist-generated report only contains information that already exists in other reports, then all that is taking place is just a reorganization of previously authenticated information. Completely different than what happened in your case where information was falsified by claiming that something was done that, in fact, was not.

Actually, the physician involved might actually look at the whole thing as doing him/her a favor by taking care of something they may have possibly overlooked, although it's more likely they were just procrastinating. Either way, the physician looks at the report and either signs it or they don't. What's the big deal?
Rita now a category 4 and taking same path as Katrina.
Those poor souls.  Hurricane season gets worse and worse every year!
Hurricane Rita just upgraded to Category 5 with winds of 165 mph
I hope everyone from TX stays safe. Learn from Katrina.
Breaking news. Bush directs H. Rita to Texas in order to curb illegal Mexicans from entering border.
LOL
Texas Coast
just had the CBS affiliate on here in Miami and they are saying Ike is now a Cat 1, but expected to strengthen to a Cat 3 with landfall either in TX or Mexico by Saturday morning.
West Coast to Amherst
I am a little confused--areyou located on the West Coast and your account was transferred to Amherst, did your office close?? It seems that any account that Foxboro or Amherst gets, they just load up with as many MT's as they can, this could be from over hiring and it could from the lose of existing accounts, whatever, it does not make sense, you don't go around making thrats about hiring other people. Is upper management getting bonus's from this??
West coast here - still daylight! - nm
nm
You must live on the east coast..sm
I used to live there too and it was either rain, humidity or hurricanes. I feel your pain, and I am so glad I moved back to the midwest. I wish you luck. Keep your powder dry!.
Did the west coast get to see Big Brother yet? nm
d
The East Coast is a big place.
The going line rate in NYC or Boston would probably not fly in SC or FL. Your best bet is to call around to some clinics in your area and see what they're paying. Also, I would bill by character line, not report. JMO
I think 8:00 PM gives those on the west coast a little more time and
g
Thanks, but this company is only on the west coast. nm

Has anybody heard about which places on Tx coast have
This occurred after the local news was done and all national outlets are still saturated with McCain's ad and lipstick on pigs. would appreciate reliable info.  I live on the Texas coast.
You can't judge people by what coast they live on....
I am originally from the East Coast and I am NOT a "nasty woman". The writer was cold hearted yes....but it doesn't give you the right to blame the East Coast. You could live anywhere...it depends how you were raised in the long run. I was taught to always treat others as I would expect to be treated...imagine that from an East Coast momma! Have a good day.
Yes, live on W Coast and my acct transferred
over to Amherst.
East coast will pay that amount and even go higher

Out of considertion for people who may have DVR'd it or are on west coast, put
x
11 to midnite East coast time
is when they'll be watching it.
Two of them are metro one Midwest and one East Coast so....
that means many, many physicians, probably hard to get used to them, probably teaching hospital, so many residents? Many ESL's??? Probably huh? Hmmmm. Scary!
Come on over to the west coast too where interracial marriage
It is very small minded to think that crossing races to marry is wrong.  Again, we are all people, no matter what color we are.  For example, I would rather my daughter marry a black man who treated her with respect, love, kindness, being an equal than married to a white man who treated her like trash.  Note that I said EXAMPLE, the race could vary of course.
west coast metropolitan area gets 14 cpl
yes, 14 cpl with pick up and delivery. Probably one of the highest in the nation. But, my friend who did local work for 20 years was just outsourced to India along with the other gals, the whole large clinic, so there goes THAT job !

BTW, do you already do local work? Do they supply the transcriber and set you up, or do you have to have that set up already and set THEM up? That has been a mystery to me as I have only worked online with nationals....how to get started with local work.. Maybe a counselor or something like that. My friend is no help as she started 20 years ago for the same company and does not know how things go nowdays.
im sure it will be... maybe moderater is on west coast time?
I dont know how the moderating works, but if I got emailed and my post deleted because i said the name of another website just in asking a question... then this surely must be deleted
OK, I'll bite -what on earth does the East Coast have to do with it?
Please enlighten me!
I tested at a local hospital on the East Coast...
The pay was $14.82 per hour to start. They were paying medical unit secretaries $14.60. Also the job was per diem, needless to say I didn't take it.
WalMart pays about 8$ an hour, Pacific coast.nm

I miss the food on the East Coast totally. sm
Love Colorado to live, but really miss the culture and the food on the East Coast. I stop at a simple diner on the PA Turnpike in New Stanton, and a cheeseburger and cole slaw is better than any dinner I could get in Colorado to me.
East Coast NYC area 18 cents a line, if ur a CMT

On east coast, paid $2.87/gal for regular unleaded today.nm

West Coast Hasn't see the show yet. Please keep this in mind next time. NM

looking for part-time Emdat work, preferably with clients in the East Coast
I have been making an average of 10,000 lines per pay period (bimonthly), on QA-optional status, but my accounts are based in the West Coast while I am in the East Coast. I usually work from afternoon to night to reach my daily goal of at least 1000 lines, which is not good for my family.

I would like to find part-time work to keep me busy in the mornings instead of nights. I prefer clinic accounts, ESLs or American dictators. I am willing to take a test anytime especially in the mornings EST.

Thanks!
After watching this
I'd have to say I now know why I had no idea this was going on.  If more people knew about this, how their meat was being "harvested" and what they do to these animals, they wouldn't be in existance at all and thats what they are afraid of.  These images should be shown to schools all over the U.S. to teach at a young impressionable age that this is what is going on and it needs to change.  I myself know that I need meat in my diet, we all need it, I don't eat a lot of it because too much can be bad for you, but how am I going to eat after watching this??  It sickens and hurts me and I can't believe people can work a full day treating a living thing like this.  Imagine their lives, born into complete suffering and agony, you can HEAR it.  I'm just completely blown away.  There is a better way to do this.  Why are they being hurt alive?  We have enough technology to take away their pain at the very least not to mention the living conditions.  I'm completely hurt and I think more people should be.
watching less and less
Seems like half of the year is reruns and alot cable stations are reruns from regular tv. Getting sick of the same shows day after. Cut it off for awhile see how you like it.
Okay, I'm watching CNN now and (sm)
They are showing the expressway where people are trying to evacuate... total gridlock. It's like a 6 to 8-lane interstate, but they don't have the other direction open... what I'm trying to say is they can open up the other side to let more people evacuate, even though they would be going down the highway in the wrong direction. No one is even on the other side..

All these poor people in their cars, just moving like turtle and this thing is coming... I just don't get it.
you must not have been watching the same...sm

YOU must not have been watching the same show and even today - they showed clips all over the TV and HIS BICEPS AND TRICEPS are in TREMENDOUS GOOD SHAPE for anybody 62.....

Obviously your upper arms are batwings.......if you think his upper arms were in bad shape.  You should only look so good in the upper arm area.......

Have you tried watching
Desperate Housewives or Greys Anatomy? I think they're both entertaining shows, although Desperate Housewives was better last year.
If you like watching
made for TV movies, try the Lifetime channel. Once in a while I can find a good movie there. Good luck
still watching ER
It is not quite as good as it once was but still head and shoulders above much of the other stuff on TV. I still watch and like the newer characters. Neila is interesting right now as is the situation with Kovac and Abby.
When you are watching something like CNN
when there is a big news story (like the miners in WV) and you're hearing this stuff supposedly live and then you hear someone like Wolff Blitzer repeat the information and say something totally different than what someone said just 3 minutes ago.   Not the same subject, but it also drives me totally insane when they ask someone who has lost a loved one in a horrific manner - how do you feel.  HOW DO YOU THINK THEY FEEL?  And why do they feel like they need to get up in the face of someone who is burying a loved one - is nothing sacred anymore.
Yes, I have been watching
It's keeping my interest enough to keep watching and actually it better than I thought it would be.
I'm watching sm
Although I missed the last episode. I'll catch it next week before the next episode hopefully. Don't know who will win.
I'm watching.
It's nice that you can see one episode right after the other. So easy to get involved that way. I wanted to see more of Tym's work also, but I think David is going to win. Alice is the brunette, right? I'm glad the young blond got kicked off. She was dizzy if you ask me!
So very sad watching this
Sitting here watching Animal Channel and the tribute to Steve Irwin. My heart is still crying. His wife, Terri, looks so grief stricken. What a loss.
