There is no info unfortunately on this company
I will be sure to post the name of the company, however, if my money doesn't get here!
If a company gave out my IM info SM

to people they  have working on the same account I am for me to help them, I'd stop working for that company.  I work for myself, my rate is for typing the company's work only, not for assisting another transcriptionist.  The only way I'd do that is if I subbed work to another Transcriptionist myself.

Diskriter Company info
Didn't see this post.  Hope it's not up twice!  Anyone know any recent info on Diskriter?  Thinking about taking a position with this company but not sure about it.  Thanks for any help!
Need Info on Company - TranscribeATL
I searched the archives for info (good? bad? etc.) on this company but can find nothing.  Anyone know?  Are they good to work for?  Platform good?  Pay on time?  TIA
Oh, I know what is going on. I live in the San Joaquin Valley.
There is a black market for anything that is sold and there is a black market for produce, beef, poultry. The under the table production is sold and the under the table profits are given to the under the table workers. When I was in the marriage, husband paid them $400.00/weekly (6:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., six days a week)if they were general laborers. He had 20,000 head of cattle, raising beef and had a dairy also (1,200 milk producing cows). This is what monitoring immigants will do - stop the black market. Which is a great idea in my book as these ranch owners are as wealthy as royalty. They sell off shore for the most part.

Info on Documed typing platform -- not company
I have been hired with company that uses the Doc-U-Med typing platform, and I was wondering if anyone can give me feedback on how well they like it and is it easy to get you line counts.  Some platforms are so clumsy and slow that no matter the ease of the dictators, you cannot get line counts because of the platform, so I am asking for feedback.  Thanks
try a search on company board-lots of info there

Keep the Day Job/Radiologists

I, too, would go back in-house in a heartbeat!  We were outsourced, then the hosp. closed.  I was still doing that same account and others, but my production went way, way down.

I talked to a good friend yesterday (Radiologist) who I worked with.  He told me how miserable VR is and that he spends tons of time trying to correct it (not one negative word about the MTSO, whoever it is).  Even still, it comes back with errors.  He clearly said, "I'm not an MT, I'm a Radiologist, so I don't know how to do all this stuff."

Ironically, another Radiologist called my number by accident.  I didn't know him, but he certainly recognized my name (in this huge city).  After I told him what I do and where I worked before this mess, he said how horrible VR is.  Get this:  Then he told me that the docs are being razzed about "PRODUCTION," too!  The other Radiologist told me the same thing (2 different hosp. systems)!  I told them how the TAT game works and "the suits."

Lastly, I hope you'll ignore this woman.  Don't give her the satisfaction.  I don't know how laws go, but shouldn't there be some "freedom of religion" thing you could try?  Hope you start snapping back.  She treats you poorly because you've allowed it.  Not being cruel, just honest.

As Dr. Laura would say,"Now do the right thing."

And please...keep us posted!

I'm 33, went to AIBT in 1993, started working in Valley
Stayed there for four months, then got layed off because all the dictated reports were going over to this new fabulous thing called "phone line dictation."  Got a job at a local secretary office, there for one year.  Then went home for MQ for a few years, had some trouble with management, so ended up at the horrid, retched, awful excuse of a company Edix for two years, now back safe, happy and content at MQ.  So I started age 23.
Central Valley, Coalinga State Hospital
There is a prison and a hospital.
Oops, make that Verde Valley School,
:)
Just radiologists need every work to be right?

What is it about radiologists who dictate mammograms?

We had one at a hospital where I worked who was constantly making jokes. If someone had an unusual name, he would find a humorous way to mispronounce it, and then say, "Boy, that's a mouthful! Oops - not supposed to say that when I'm dictating mammograms!" Or if the patient had the same name as someone famous, like Elizabeth Taylor, he would say, "Just call me 'radiologist to the stars'!"

Silly, but it certainly brightened up my day.

I second this! Radiologists don't mind questions
You are correct in that radiologists know MTs save their butts constantly and are glad to review, revise or reword at the suggestion of an MT.  Sometimes they will say "no, that's what I meant and what I want", but they are generally very glad to have things brought to their attention and are quite gracious in explaining something to help you learn.  They know the more you know they better their reports will look.  And often they're so laid back they will tell you to automatically fix their more common mistakes (metacarpal for metatarsal, etc.) without having to ask them about it.  So we do tend to fall into the habit of fixing stuff for them because they themselves often encourage us to do so when its blatantly obvious.
If the radiologists are associated with a spine clinic
diskograms, epidural steroid injections, nerve root blocks, vertebroplasties, etc.
I doubt that any radiologists here are sweatin' bullets, hon
and don't have to sweat it, like people who are not college material do
Same for radiologists. Films being popped up on the screen.
Causes such loud pop noises when they throw films up and take them down. Really makes it tough to hear the dictation.

radiologists and radiology services are very very tight with money - sm
You always have to keep an eye open for who is hiring and who is looking to switch to another service. I for one, have managed to get the work I had by just letting radiology offices know who I was and where I lived. My reputation spoke volumes and references even more. However, there will always be that one person or company that will undercut your rate just to get the work. But keep in mind, depending on the radiology office or radiologist, they may keep crap work just to save $$. Others will not, and eventually I always get called back.

You cannot expect people to just hand over their paycheck to you and say, "yeah, here is who I'm working for. Call them up." Would you want someone cutting into your paycheck? I know I wouldn't. Take the work while it is there. Feast or famine. And always keep YOUR OWN eyes open for business.
Radiology dictation....do any of your radiologists use handheld recorders anymore?
Or is it mainly phone and through the PC?  Thanks!
demographic info is not the only info ...sm
protected by HIPAA, as we all know. I saw that ad too and was surprised to see it. Any identifying info is considered Protected Health Information, including diagnoses, tests, etc. This MTSO should have known better than to ask for that.
What Company is This? I have been hired by a company that is sending a foot pedal.. Don't want t
.
The company cutting cpl, the company stopping paying for headers
:{
Good of the company? As IC, I am my own company. Not my problem if she has problems as long as I do
:P
Accepted a job with a new company, gave two weeks notice to my old company..

Old company, let me go before two weeks was up.  New company, said they were having trouble getting me set up and my equipment ready, but they would pay me while I waited.  It's been a month, still no check from new company even though I was told it was "in the mail."  I have no income and am at a loss.

I have a signed offer letter from the new company, contracts, etc.  I applied for unemployment, but old company is saying I quit and technically I am currently employed with the new company!  New company is not returning calls or answering email.

What should I do!?!?!?!

I started sending my resume out today, but the process of getting a new job will take at least two weeks and I need money now to catch up on what I'm behind!

You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
With my company, ICs use their own emails, employees have company email.

COMPANY INQUIRIES belong on Company board, please!

....3 months later my old company rehired me; can you return to your 1st company?
nm
Local radiology company, not transcription company
who has only 5 transcriptionists and are not hiring at this moment. We all work at home and get great benefits, no insurance out of pocket and 22 days paid vacation in the first year, after that it goes up. I feel very fortunate to have found them, but again I chose them because they did not do production, so now that they are, I'm a little disappointed.
I think it varies greatly from company to company...sm
I was hired five months ago by a national straight out of school at 8 cpl. I think it just depends on your knowledge level and ability, and of course, what the company is willing to pay.
i think it varies from company to company and/or location

VR company? Not when the MT company owns its own VR equipment. n/m.
xx
I have my own company email with my new company.
I can't answer your questions in your original post, I can tell you that with my new company, I have my own company email account, and I much prefer it. My old company had us use our personal email accounts, and they listed everyone who received emails in the cc line. They really never maintained those lists, and I received emails from them for a full five months after I quit - that despite my repeatedly asking to be removed from lists. Because the list had been passed from one person to the next in the company, I kept having to block sender after sender. Finally I replied to all, for each and every email I had gotten over a month's time. Well, that pretty much ended it.
I like to keep work and personal separate as much as possible.
It can vary from company to company.
If a company is on one coast and you on the other it can affect shift time, meaning usually if you want to start work 9-10 instead of 11 you could for 3rd shift, etc.
Buy your own... company computers are for that company only!

some of what you want to know varies from company to company,
client to client. The services each have their own QA grading system and you will get a copy at hire that tells you everything they deduct, and for how many points. This usually also includes formatting, such as wrong dates, right exam/wrong patient, etc.

You will need to know your punctuation and grammar first and foremost and use it properly, this is what you do. THEN if the client requests garbage in/garbage out (usually because they don't trust leaving anything up to us), you give it to them even though it hurts -- and should not be marked off QA for it.

Where do you study? Colleges with the 2 yr transcription course in my state make you take a year (or 2) of English grammar. No offense, but it's pretty much a 5th/6th grade review (is vs are, doctors' vs doctor's).

blanks will be limited, usually to 2, before you cannot send the report to client.

Wrong shortcuts - pay attendion to detail.
Varies from company to company
My first company I chose specifically because I knew they had a mentoring program and you had 12 weeks of "mentoring" to get up to speed. The training was very thorough. The first week was all training classes. There were very limited samples (1-2 per doc if at all). I worked there 6 months and never made their production quota, but they didn't care. When I asked my account manager about it, she said they knew the account was very difficult 95+% ESLs) and she wasn't worried about my production, that I was doing well.

I have also worked with companies that just did a training over the phone (usually about an hour) just to learn the platform. Then they did full QA for a day or two and then I was on my own. For both of these companies, I could review all the past reports of the doctors on the platform. That was really nice. I didn't have production requirements with these positions, just a daily schedule that I had to stick to. They just wanted to know when I would be working.

My recent company gave me a 10-minute training over the phone and gave me a couple of samples of a couple of the harder docs. I then had to submit 3 reports to the account manager to review, and then I was off on my own and was required to meet production immediately.

So it all depends. Each company is different. Good luck on the new job!

thanks for the info
Wanted to make sure it was okay to maybe start early or late some days, can't stand such a rigid schedule when i work at home. Understand about making sure to produce enough first though.
Thanks for all the info....
It saddens me to know that this is a problem with internet companies, I knew it happened at hospitals.
A little info
My sister graduated from nursing school in 1988 and had been working in nursing, until I became an at-home MT and she decided to take a coding course because she wanted to work at home, too. She took the course and took an in-house position. Some months later, she took and passed her certification. Now, she is having a really hard time finding an at-home position. I don't know if it's a typical story, but I do know she's been pursuing it pretty heavily and is having a hard time.
Thanks for that info (sm)
I was contemplating getting a second HSI provider. As it turns out, I am back on now. But, yes, started my day off all wrong. The stress from this is exhausting in itself. I will call BellSouth Fast and get the info. Hope it is available in Calif. If not, will find some sort of remedy with a backup connection using high speed internet, that is for sure. This cost me money.

Thanks for your response!
thank you for the info...sm

I'm considering asking for a trial at it, wish me luck!

appreciate the info
I think animals need a voice and things like PETA, no kill shelters, animal wildlife preserve are very important in our day and age of technology.  We need them as much as they need us.
I think they all have the same info....sm

Because MT is a tiny community and we share the misery well.

I understand what you're saying (and it sucks to be in the situations you were in) but I do believe that if we are adequately vigilant we'll know what we need to.  OTOH, then there's me, and I don't care what they do as long as there's work.  So I get where you're coming from.

I just would like to see an end to the destructionist thinking about MTSOs and MT in general.  :)

Good discussion!

Have you tried looking for the info
on QNET? Might be available there.
I have info on them...
I didn't work for them because a family emergency came up when i was just finished with their training. The lady is really nice, but their training modules are a bit silly. You have to learn their platform to use it to train and then why bother doing the training because you just figured it out on your own..silly.
