What about fat people, smokers,
If responsibility is all there is to it, then why not refuse to treat them? Yes, some people are fat because they eat too much junk and don't exercise. Does this mean you penalize them for their "bad choices"? They are a burden to the healthcare system which we all pay for in higher insurance premiums, lost productivity, etc. But is it really as simple as that? Some people, despite their best efforts, can't lose weight, isn't that true as well? Same goes for people who live wrecklessly in other ways. Where does it stop? What about driving gas guzzlers? It's not that simple, same as the poverty discussion below.
Supplement for smokers
I think it's a great idea to charge the polluters extra.
A FEW cases are probably genetic. The overwhelming majority are smokers.
