We take him to the M and M factory and there are a lot of different things for kids..He especially likes the swimming pools. Our teenagers love the malls/shopping and our 25-year-old goes with us to Nascar..So pack them kiddies up and head to vacation. You'd be surpised how much fun you could have. One year we took 4 of our kids for Christmas..it was strange without the snow but they really had a great time as Vegas goes all out as only Vegas could in Christmas style..lots of decorations, shows etc..

For some reason I tape it everyday even though I agree there is too much swapping around. Or either somebody is coming back from the dead. Ever notice how Y&R and B&B story lines are so much alike? I agree about the Jack/Phyllis/Brad/Victoria stuff. The weirdest part to me is how Abby is Victoria's half sister/soon to be stepmom. Ick double ick.
Celine. I'd love to see her Vegas show.
I only started listening to her about a year ago, but I've got several CDs that I play while transcribing.
Love my Goldtouch -- can spread it apart and tent it up however you like. nm
Thanks.. we love Vegas..get our rooms free and now you can pay like $10 for 24-hour internet service
Gotta love it.. Have fun on your trips too..
I am an older woman and I dont fit that at all. In fact, I know a lot of younger women trying to
work and take care of kids that fit that scenario.
Yes, love it. In fact, I just got an
Have you tried them yet? They have very nice yarn at great prices. Also love Knitters Review (message board) for all kinds of stuff. The knitting board at Craftster.org is also very nice...really great people and very creative patterns. I'm totally addicted. Taught myself from a book about 15 years ago. Great hobby isn't it? Nice 'cause it's portable and meditative.
Used to love that... in fact that is my families joke about me! nm

I dont care if you stay home because ofyour kids, a health issue - sm
or because you just like to work in tne nude. The fact of the matter is, settling for a lower rate jsut for the convenience of working from home is BS. I've been doing this for 25 years and have been home since 1996 and while I know I am not making the same money I did in the haydays, I sure as he11 will not work for less. Many of these companies are bluffing if they tell you they have to lower your rate. In fact, if you hold your ground and have a decent reputation, you can even make more.
It's too bad that so many people don't believe in their abilities and worth to hold out. You should never base your decision on fear. Use logic and common sense.
I feel for you, your kids should know better. sm
I would forget their birthdays when they roll around.
Sorry you feel that way. I have my kids' names on my leg.
I feel like I work all the time too and my kids- sm
are always asking me if I have to work (usually I do). Lately though I have started trying to go to bed by 10 and get up at 3, work from 3am-6:30am, get them off to school, then I have all day from 8-3:30 available to work. Then be free for them after school and work again after they go to bed if necessary. I am still not disciplined enough though and work more than I should, i.e. surf the internet, come here, etc. Waste time in other words. So if I can "stay" on my butt and work consistently I can average 16 minutes of dictation an hour, which is good for me. All I can say is try to set up a schedule adn stick to it. I keep meaning to write one up, but have not as yet myself (did this for college and hung it on my wall), so maybe your post will inspire me. Good luck.
I feel sorry for kids now.. They're 4 and being labeled because they

I would love to hear from you too if you dont mind...
congratulations on finding the right fit! if you wouldn't mind i would like an email too with suggestions and the name of who you found such happiness with..im pulling out my hair now and want to find some peace as well :)brandi_0320@yahoo.com
No reason to feel good about it. Just showing that kids are going to get into trouble
So let them learn how to function in society rather than hide them from it.
My kids LOVE broccoli!! NM

My kids LOVE that! Comfort food for them. nm

Know you feel...used to love this job..
but any more, I work a couple of hours and feel I have done 8 hours' worth. Just an awful feeling, so much so that I get knots in my stomach.. Think it is just burn-out? Don't know but wish I didn't have to work, still trying to hit the lottery! Seems anymore that the doctors don't care if I can understand them or not, and it is most depressing, hair-pulling, knots in the stomach feeling. If I EVER find a way to get over this, I will definitely let you know! :) Maybe a lobotomy!! Yeah, that's the ticket! LOL.
To Angela
I faced a very similar situation 10 years ago. Worked full time in medical offices all my life, then got hit with a rare disease causing me to have to *retire* at an early age with a young child. Because of chemo and inability to sit for long, I felt helpless but then I did file for disability and was awarded at a very young age. They helped me get set up and now I work 10-15 hours a week doing MT. It keeps me from feeling totally useless & provides a little bit of extra money to pay bills.
Keep the faith Angela, it can be done. Also, a lot of your state unemployment agencies have back to work programs that can accomadate people with disabilities.
Angela
Just do not feel down about filing for disability, you have paid into it for years and at times, it's all you have to fall back on. Think of your kids. That's when I had to swallow my pride.
Make sure you do not try to do it on your own, it won't happen. Hire an experienced Dis. lawyer and let them do the paperwork. The SSA pays them and you do not need to put anything up front, they take what the SSA pays. SSA sets up filing for dis so that you automatically get turned down, so again, let the atty handle it.
Who knows, you may find the right cure with your back that makes your life more functional and may not have to stay on disability, but it's there for you if you need it.
Angela
I used to do that with a company here in Portland. But I still raised my rates when it became necessary. It was a little hard to do but I did it. As an IC you can do it but then you do worry about them finding someone else. But if you have been there for two years and sounds like you know her, tell her that you need an increase even 1/2 cent per line would be nice.
One more thing, I LOVE MY JOBS! Does anybody feel the same? nm
x
Angela, you go for it!!!! You're only as old
The medical field is ALWAYS in dire need of nurses! Jobs are readily available. You have at least 20 years of "working" in you. GO FOR IT!! Good luck!!
Angela -- are you employee or IC
If you are doing the pick up of the tapes and deliverng back the finished documents you need to start charging more with the price of gas. If you are an IC you can raise your rates and tell them it is due to the high price of the gas, if you are an employee then you should be getting a pick up and delivery reimbursement or at least charging them the mileage if not you are deducting the mileage on her taxes if not getting paid for your mileage. Anyway, ask for a raise what do you have to lose. Good luck.
No, actually they don't. You guys run on emotion, not fact. And when fact is presented,

Sorry Angela. I had missed this question..this is what I do.
I usually work like a dog before I go so I can afford to take the day off to get to where I'm going. Then, I get set up once I get there. As I stated before, yes I do work a lot and while on vacation and people ask me what's the point but you can have the best of both worlds..I can sit out on the balcony of our condo in Hawaii with the most gorgeous view and type away. It's very motivating..We have red cardinals that fly onto the banister while I work etc. I am a self-professed workaholic, but I put on limits. I work as long as I want on vacation, log on, take the kids to the beach, go sight seeing etc..and work when I want. We try to go to Florida once a year but I recommend going in the spring or late fall. Other than that, it's hurricane season, hot and humid. I do my research whenever I am going to check out the hotel's internet status. Most will offer free, but in Vegas, they charge a certain fee, around $10, for 24 hours of service. I have a very small desktop and flat screen that I bubble wrap and take or I use my laptop. Whatever my software allows. I will never allow a job to tie me down again!!! Let me know if I can answer anything else.
YES!! Love 'em! Lots of fun, doesn't feel like working out. :)
Why dont you stop coming in and agitating everyone under all your different names. Dont you work.

Dont you think MQ will just keep hiring new people who dont know they lost lines because they are
new. I betcha.
Welcome to Las Vegas
It's a very strange town to meet people. I've been here a long time. We can email if you want, although I'm not sure how to do that from here. LOL...
Las Vegas
Anybody know of a decent hotel to stay at in Vegas, not high end, but not low end either. I am going up there in two months to get married and really want a medium cost hotel, and would appreciate any input. Thanks!
vegas
I have been to vegas and have stayed in probably 6-8 different hotels. My preference by far is the Monte Carlo. Love the location, love the rooms, staff is great and a great plus is - I always win there! Congratulations to you!
Vegas
Hi everyone,
My husband and I are going to Vegas for our anniversary, does anybody know of a good show to catch while there?
Thanks for saying that. Since MQ has spread out
I don't get those notes from my QA personnel anymore, so I never get the feedback I used to. There were a couple who patted me on the back for struggling through some of these awful dictators and it made me feel my efforts were worth it! Thanks for the post
We put on the spread....sm
Ham, chicken pastry, chicken salad, deviled eggs, collards, sweet potato crunch, cabbage, corn, butterbeans, peas, homemade buiscuits, cornbread, and lots of dessert.
Then the kids have a big Easter egg hunt!

Used MT Books Available for PU in Las Vegas
After changing carrers from our Home based MT business here in Summerlin-Las Vegas, we have collected a few dozen current and past MT and Medical-Word/Terminology books.
If you are having a somewhat hard time starting up yours, we know how difficult it can be and would like to donate these manuals free to a serious MT newbie in need if you can pick them up here in Summerlin, Las Vegas.
Please send us an email stating your true need and aspirations for MT carreer. We want to give the books somewhere where they will be most needed and used.
PLease send the email by Aug 12, after midnight we will review what ever emails we get and send further instructions for pick up. Thank you.
I'm from Las Vegas originally.
My siblings go through new relationships every 5 years. They've been married and divorced at least three times each during my one marriage. It's almost as if many of the people in Las Vegas think nothing of marriage and commitment. I know it's a generalization, but maybe there are more fish down there to play with? My brother's wife just walked out on him after he put her through college because she met someone else. My siblings don't hang out in bars or gamble or anything. I don't know why they keep meeting up with users.
Better hurry to Vegas (sm)
Heard her say on a talk show that she would very much like to give it up because of her son. Then told the story of her son seeing her perform for the first time, as he really had no clue what she did in reality. He said he didn't mind sharing her with the world! He had seen her perform and the audiences response. She just may give it up you never know.
My fave's VEGAS!
Anything Vegas is romantic to me......
Go there and find the best suite you can at one of the finer hotels; i.e., Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Wynne, and then make reservations at some of the five-star restaurants - then top it off with a fine show, a few hands of black jack, a couple of Black Russians, and a helicopter ride over the strip at night, then if you have time, go to the top of the Stratosphere at their lounge and have another Black Russian. That view is TOTALLY romantic!
Whereever you choose, though, I have you have a totally romantic time!
I'm on my way to Vegas Friday! Thanks for your help and..sm
have loads of fun on your trips! Nothing better than working from home and being able to travel, so lucky we are!
HOW do we spread the word?
It's like a slap in the face to American transcriptionists. The fact that American doctors don't even know it's going on....how can that be? How do we get the word out? We need to do something, but what? Do we start at home by talking to our own family doctor? Do we write our congressman? Can they do anything?
Or Oprah! That would spread everywhere!
:)
Spread the word
What I've been doing for quite some time is telling everyone I talk with, and I mean everyone, about the possibility of their personal information/medical records going overseas. Most often, they have absolutely no idea this is even possible. We the patients pay the deductibles and the insurance premiums, we have every right to voice to our physician/medical facility that we absolutely DO NOT want our records leaving the USA. You could even ask that the statement be included in your medical record for written documentation. If the physicians/facilities hear it enough from enough people, maybe they'll realize what a big deal this really is to us as American citizens. It may not stop offshoring completely, but it could certainly slow it down.
Why spread the word?..
Well, I kind of liked the OPs thing kept a secret. Now get ready down the road for more people hopping on the OPs bandwagon and there will be less to go around. Some things are just left better unsaid....especially publicly.
Just moved to Vegas a month ago.
Having a hard time here. I end up working all the time because I have nothing to do and I do not know anyone.

Flamingo and wedding in Vegas
My daughter got married at the Flamingo last summer. It was very nice...no complaints.
It might be nice if you spread that message
through a memorial fund through the school.
Unfortunately, we are in a society that stopped recognizing the value of teachers and how they can impact our lives.
Special, talented, gifted teachers are hard to find and should be memorialized.
Sadly, while you are not wanting to spread the name...
...Some other unsuspecting MT is signing a contract with these folks.
Believe me, I felt the SAME exact way as you back when I was fooled by D&L. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for over a month, and actually believed payment would be sent to me. I didn't talk badly about them, well not until PA Dept of Labor decided there was nothing they could do for me as an IC. Here it is, 1 year later, and I still haven't been paid...either have 20+ others who were all just suddenly *let go.*
The only loyalty you should ever have in this business is to yourself, your pocket and to a fellow struggling MT. Don't be scared to let others know the name of a company to avoid.
Good luck dealing with PA courts/magistrates/Dept of Labor, etc. I hope you get your pay.
Not to be an alarmist, but did you know they can spread down her throat and into her lungs? You know
how we all here of the weird few who almost die from chickenpox? That's my family. We have horrible illnesses when we've had chickenpox. Especially once in the oral cavity, I would NOT mess with it and I'd get my kids to the doctor immediately. I barely remember it, but my airway was compromised, etc, and I ended up in the hospital. Not to mention how much those sores hurt. You need to give him/her some viscous Lidocaine or something from the doctor. Please go for medical help!
Then USA Today spread lies and you know the truth.
