I wouldn't call it "fragmented". The poster can ask his/her question on more than one religion board and receive a variety of responses in which to make an informed decision.

I didnt think my post was offensive or a problem. I was just looking for general input on different religions. To suggest I sit here and post that same question over and over again on each individual religion forum is nuts...not to mention very time consuming. Thanks anyway...I will look elsewhere. I am lucky that I have been doing this for many years and so have a lot of "contacts" out there. If there is a transcription group, like local AAMT or a medical assistant group/association even in your town, join. It helps to get to know people in our field and what is available out there. But without that, all I did -- is has been 3-4 years since I have done this -- is a mailing out of about 100 to 200 brochures/flyers to local clinics/groups. Sure 98% get thrown away but if they are in the need of any help it will be seen. I have a large data base that I use. But again, I know my local docs, clinics, hospitals and I know who does what pretty much. But if I were doing this new again, that is what I would do. Also I would do 2-3 mailings pretty close so my name/logo becomes familiar. Those that show an interest -- though I have been flamed in the past -- I do follow up after I have seen them with a thank you and cookies or a treat for the entire office. I have been the receptionist and you need to get past her sometimes. It is like selling a house, many open house and flyers go out to find that one "buyer" well you have to find a "buyer" for your services. But look for those clinics/specialists that aren't too large to start off with. Also oral surgeons, psychologists need help. The first account may not be what you want and you may have to drive farther than you want or work for someone you would not chose as your doctor, but you gotta start somewhere. Call some local MTSO's and see if they need overflow help. Perhaps if enough of us charged the offices with offers of service at a reasonable rate -- not 15 ot 18 cpl, we could bring some of this work back to the US. Just my thinking, Gotta get to work.

You might be careful though, it could be (and I don't know) that the reason you didn't get paid was because the doctor didn't pay. You could be stepping out the frying pan into the fire with that one. Just a thought.

What she did does seem cruel to you and perhaps she is cruel, but those accounts are absolutely hers to deal with and I think it is wrong for the subcontractor to contact the contractor's clients, totally wrong. I do feel for you. As an IC and MTSO, I have been "kicked to the curb" for cheaper price undercuts by "so-called" friends, etc. You must let it go and move on, perhaps contact your local church if you need help with food, utilities, etc. I do feel very badly for you, but I think to contact her clients would be "tacky" and make you look bad. Perhaps one day you will own your own accounts and see what I'm saying is true. Good luck to you, I am sure you are very hurt, I have been there as well. Not much you can do but log it into your "experience" book. Stay well, things will get better. Sometimes change forces progress, I hope so for your sake. With all my best wishes to you.

I want to get this straightened out! I have emailed to AAMT for an explanation of how the heck the book I bought has an error, when other copies of the book don't! I will post their response, if any, when I receive it. If anybody thinks I'm nuts I will gladly fax them a copy of the page in my book.

Advice on contacting a doctor regarding doing their transcription -sm
I used to work for a small MTSO that did his transcription. I no longer work there because of not being paid for the work that I have done. I am still owed over $400. I never signed any contract with her so there is no noncompete clause. I would like to do his work as I have done it in the past and I would like him to call me before he goes with another company. Any advice on how I should handle this would be appreciated. I have never been here before. Thanks.

Tired! Yes, I spent "forever" over there. Those are truly special and I found myself "lost in the forum world" and before I knew it over an hour had gone by! Now, the trick is to save up some quality time to learn what I want it to do for me, what I already know and how it applies to that program, and then learn what I need to know and USE IT! Do you use it with IT? I think I want to go over to those forums again right now and I need to stop myself because it is 11:15 and I have to get up early! I don't know, but I may stay up all night if I dare go there! I saw where someone on the forum wanted to import their glossaries and other lists and had trouble, but do you know if you can save your glossaries as text files and import them that way like in RN? I really miss DOS too, and find that finding paths in Windows is not too straightforward in every case, but still am looking forward to finally letting go of my "obsession" with PRD and DOS. I guess I am old, but still it worked so well and it wasn't "broken" so why did they change everything to Windows stuff? Could you hear the whine in that? Sorry! I need to shut up now and either go to bed and get sleep or go over to that forum and learn stuff! Thanks again for making my entire year with that advice!

This issue has gotten out of hand. See the available forums to
the left and if your question or comment fits in any of those categories, please post there. Perhaps you do not understand how the back end of discussion forums operate, but simply put, when one forum is jammed with posts it bears heavy on the server. This is why we have a variety of boards to choose from.

basically is another club. It ends up being about its own entity and not the spirituality it is supposed to embrace. Christ said basically the same thing when he was on earth.
Maybe you could get the other employees together to voice your feelings and needs to this employer to see if you can prompt some very necessary changes. If not, I would start seriously looking for a healthier work environment.
Remember that it is also not good for the people who take advantage to be allowed to do so (work or personal).
I am so sorry about your friend/co-worker. I hope you can gain strength from this loss to make some changes.

Your comment aboput organized religion is off teh subject and snarky. This person did not die because it was A CATHOLIC hospital and I for one am tired of this sort of modern day sneering. I work at a Catholic Hospital. I absolutely loathe the manager who will not give me a singel Sunday off but she herself is a Catholic and tries to tell me waht church to go to. She's not a jerk becuase of her religion. She's just a jerk. Period. I won't die from stress becuase my life is worth more that 400 lines. But to make off the wall comments about religion is not ok.

Someone please tell me what I need to change in NAV to get the left sided links back for the forums
I found over the w/e if I disable my Norton Internet Security and go to Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files and click on Delete All Off Line Content, and choose ok, I can get the links back on the left (in the blue area) but they won't stay. I assume I need to change something in Norton's Internet Security, but what?? Does anyone know? I have tried lots of things and can't seem to find what it is that will make this a permanent change as it won't stay this way.
Please help. TIA.

It is not about religion being a sensitive subject, it is about
posting on the correct forum. The Main board gets so jammed that we have had to create other forums for particular subjects. We only ask that posters kindly utilize those forums instead of posting every single thing on the Main board.
