To give you an idea
I also use to be on an account that was use Dictaphone and now I am on EditScript and I will never go back. I get paid 3 cpl for editing and 7 cpl standard. My hourly line rate and hour editing is around 450 to 500 when I try to be fast. The other thing I LOVE about EditScript is getting sample reports on the patient's old reports or the physician speaking, it takes no time at all so it's quick if you have to stop and look up something in that regard. Hope this helps!
Can someone give me an idea of pay for voice recognition editing? I want to get into it but
I want to know a fair range. I have heard to look at Transcend, Superior Global and MQ but want radiology only. I just don't know where to start and don't want to short myself and I don't want to ask too high.
Also information on if you like it or not, how your volume is, etc. Not too detailed, just general info.

It very much depends on how fast you are. Out in the world of national services, production and speed is what pays. Most companies pay a higher line rate and give bigger bonuses, the more lph you produce. Inhouse jobs aren't usually as concerned with speed, so you may be forced to streamline your techiniques and produce more and produce faster if you want to make decent money with benefits. Tell us which company took over your hospital and some people here can probably give you a good idea of what to expect.

If this company has a recruiter like this pushing and pushing to do interviews and hire people and then pulls out, I do not think any of us would want to work for that company for fear of what happened to you. I truly sympathize with what happened to you. Although I do not have kids, I too need to work just to pay bills, keep a roof over my head, etc. To work for a company like this would make me hesitant about job security.
I do hope you will consider maybe telling us who this was. I also want to say that I admire the fact that you didn't bash the company or the recruiter, unlike so many people on this board do.

It is Alphamed, but I wouldn't recommend it to you because I have hardly any work right now so I know they aren't hiring. If you did work there you would go broke if you didn't have a husband to back up your pay.

So, imagine the company that does not allow QA to give feedback, what does the MT learn then?
They learn that they've got no problems, they're not making any mistakes as they don't hear from QA, their work must be TERRIFIC.
MTs need feedback, no matter how long they've been in the profession. They don't need nasty feedback, just reminders if they are making errors to keep track of themselves. I know if I get feedback that I've done something wrong in a report it certainly makes me be more careful and I've even had to change some of my shortcuts to not make some mistakes.

I used to have Comcast a couple of years ago and never, ever had a problem with it. Fast, never went down except for the rare maintenance which customers were informed of. I couldn't have been happier with it.
I recently signed back up for Comcast and have noticed that it will randomly just go down for anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes, only 2 lights blinking on the modem for some unknown reason, and then just as randomly start working again. It's gotten me so paranoid I find myself looking at the modem to make sure all 3 lights are working before I try to upload a job so I don't lose it.
I'm in central CA; are you on the west coast as well, or is this perhaps a national issue with Comcast high speed connections? To my recollection, it was never unreliable like this before.

if you are in NYC or Long Island, the amount is never less than $100. Further north of NY can go about $50. If it's a close relative you go higher in $$.

i have been through some rough times lately and had to apply for some help. there are signs, big signs, all over our offices saying "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LEGAL TO GET HELP". so we and our government do give them our benefits whether they are legal here or not. now that is messed up. i am helping to support them so they can take away my jobs and i can't even support my kids and yes i get benefits, wow $75 a month in food stamps which lasts not even a week in a household of 6. don't get me wrong, i am thankful for any help at the moment, but i get penalized for trying to work my tail off and still can't survive.
there was recently an article in our local newspaper where one of our local school districts tried to charge $1000 a year for each illegal student enrolled. it was bulked and the illegals got a lawyer to sue for discrimination. the school district merely stated that they had to HIRE extra teachers that could speak the foreign language just to teach these children and were trying to offset some of the expenses. ridicilous!! so again our taxpayers money is paying to educate illegals as well.

Accepted a job with a new company, gave two weeks notice to my old company..
Old company, let me go before two weeks was up. New company, said they were having trouble getting me set up and my equipment ready, but they would pay me while I waited. It's been a month, still no check from new company even though I was told it was "in the mail." I have no income and am at a loss.
I have a signed offer letter from the new company, contracts, etc. I applied for unemployment, but old company is saying I quit and technically I am currently employed with the new company! New company is not returning calls or answering email.
What should I do!?!?!?!
I started sending my resume out today, but the process of getting a new job will take at least two weeks and I need money now to catch up on what I'm behind!
You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
With my company, ICs use their own emails, employees have company email.

Local radiology company, not transcription company
who has only 5 transcriptionists and are not hiring at this moment. We all work at home and get great benefits, no insurance out of pocket and 22 days paid vacation in the first year, after that it goes up. I feel very fortunate to have found them, but again I chose them because they did not do production, so now that they are, I'm a little disappointed.
I think it varies greatly from company to company...sm
I was hired five months ago by a national straight out of school at 8 cpl. I think it just depends on your knowledge level and ability, and of course, what the company is willing to pay.
