I can only work so many hours in a day and I do have children to care for and myself. I will just have to try to not let the enormous pile of work get to me. I am a hard worker and I do my job well, but no one is capable of doing this much work in so short of an amount of time. I feel bad for the other IC, who already has her own workload to do, and while I am gone they are going to dump mine on her. However, most of it will not get done, because she is only capable of working so many hours/a day. I don't expect her to work 24 hrs/day to cover for me and they shouldn't either, nor should she or I feel guilty or like it is a hopeless situation for us to take a vacation now and then, especially after we have worked 6-7 days a week, weekends, holidays, etc. I realize there are plenty of people out there that work themselves to death, but we shouldn't have to, and we shouldn't feel guilty if we don't, especially when we are already doing the most important job of all which is being a good wife/mother, living for family instead of career and $.
