All four of us; this is how:

In Reply to: Who does the chores in your house i.e.....sm - Poll lady
- Laundry. (I do it all on Saturday morning but only do about 4 loads. THEY fold up clothes that are thrown in the wash because they didn't feel like putting them away)
- Dusting and vacuuming the house. DD dusts, DH vacuums most, sometimes DS or DD get "assigned" to do a room or the steps.
- Cleaning bathrooms. I clean our bath every morning by swish-and-swipe, the Flylady way. Clean the half bath the same way but about every 3rd way. Run in horror from the kids' upstairs bath. (One cleans it up on Tu, the other does it on Th - but they don't do the toilet).
- Cleaning the kitchen after meals. We all "pick a countertop, first come, first served." So the first one to show up gets to pick the easiest countertop. Laggards get the hardest one. Lately, I've come to the conclusion that the kitchen gets messy because people don't put dishes in the dishwasher (duh), so we instituted a reward system. If they put their dishes (and put condiments, breakfast cereal, butter, etc.away) in the dishwasher, they earn a little card that says "David Breakfast, " for breakfast, lunch (which includes after school snacks) and dinner. Those who make a point of cleaning up after themselves after each meal, get three cards to throw in the lottery. If your name gets picked out of the lottery, you don't have to do dishes that night! Actually got DD to put hers in the dishwasher for the first time in years
- Lawn chores. DH and DS. It's a guy thing. BIG John Deere.
Our kids get a small allowance which is only there to help them learn how to manage money.
I love my kids. They do me proud.
