name one U.S. MTSO who specifies in their contract that their dictation is being transcribed overseas. Sadly, if doctors or hospital administrators had this information conveyed honestly, they would choose to keep medical records in the country even if they were a couple more cents a line. It's called dishonesty and greed by the companies who falsely advertise by having "store fronts" in the U.S., and the number of these companies is likely quite substantial. Do not be gullible. It's called corporate greed, and the only way to stop it is to make the medical profession aware that they are being "taken for a ride," and in the process jeopardizing their patients' confidential information that if transcribed out of the country cannot be enforced according to HIPAA.
