Attn-Managment - Either use BOS or don't, one or the other!
I was told on a new account to buy the AHDI-III BOS and to strictly adhere to it on all accounts for the company. Okay, no problem, did so. Now I am starting to get reports back from QA: March 14, 2009, should be 3/14/09 in the body of a report, and 1-3 times a day should be one to three times a day (spelling out numbers under ten), and on and on. When I pull in text from previous reports, I see abbreviations in the Impression or Plan, etc. Sooo, where does the BOS come in? This is driving me frickin crazy. Why don't you either use it or not use it, one or the other!!!!
NOT mgmt at all! I just pay attn!! Perhaps YOU should try the same!! LMAO

Attn: At Home MTs; How do you get paid?
Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the board but not to MT. I used to work as a secretary/MT for a doctor in my hometown. However since having my baby I want to work from home. I've already got my headset and pedal ready and my former boss promised to send a little work my way. I was wondering how do your clients pay at home Mts? via credit? online? thanks so much!

Attn: people with 3 jobs
I have the opportunity to pick up a third job which will be full time, I have 2 other part time jobs, how do you juggle them and make it work? Would just like to do this for the summer and then pick 2 of them to keep, any thoughts or suggestions on how to do this and keep your sanity? Thinking of working full-time from 7-3 p.m. and then figuring out the other 2 after that, probably need a nap in there too.
AARP
I received literature in the mail from AARP. I don't know about the pre-existing conditions but the prices seemed very reasonable to me compared with other insurances I've seen. If you happen to go with them, I'd like to know how you like them.
AARP
My husband is 52, but not retired. He was able to get on Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield when my position was terminated in August due to my facility outsourcing the transcription. I went with COBRA because I already had my deductible met, etc, beside the fact that we were told that since I was overweight I could not get on my husband's plan. Now get this, he is a smoker, and he was accepted. They said I had to lose 70 pounds to meet their weight requirement.
With all the screwing around COBRA is doing with my coverage I don't know what I am going to do. I thought COBRA honored what benefits you had. As I mentioned, I had dental coverage, and now I do not. I am giving them a call tomorrow to get to the bottom of it.
Ooop - meant the RMT- sorry. Txs for bringing to my attn.

AARP taxes
I have been reluctant to use the AARP free tax because we have a business (not mine), and it would take quite a while to do the taxes. I was afraid they weren't interested in doing any complicated ones. Could we use the free service, do you think?
AARP Info
I am wondering if any of you know anything about insurance through AARP membership? I have just been terminated from my place of employment after 15 years of service as the lead transcriptionists/supervisor for an in-house transcription department for a mental health facility. My place of employment is outsourcing all of the transcription to a service to save money (not having to pay us benefits, etc.)
My husband and I own our own business as well, so basically my husband is self-employed. I have always provided the insurance benefits, having this through my place of employment. Well, now guess what no benefits! The service that took over wants to hire me as well as the other four transcriptionists, which is cool, because we know these docs and therapists like the back of our hands.
Here's my situation, my insurance benefits that I have now are done on 08/31/07. The new benefits with the service will not be in effect for 90 days after beginning employment with the service, if that is what I decide to do. Their insurance benefits are higher, and the deductible is higher than what I pay now, and of course with a service, these benefits are a privilege really, not a benefit, because it is based on production, etc. to keep the benefits. COBRA is going to cost me $1,200.00 a month for the 90-days of coverage in between jobs. This is outrageous. I have been looking into other options as well.
My husband is 51 years old, do you think we could get insurance coverage cheaper through AARP. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have health insurance with AARP? sm
Have any of you older ladies used AARP health insurance? If so, what is your opinion of it? Is it expensive? Do they hold pre-existing conditions against you? Thanks!
Attn: MTSO - re: your earlier post for a reliable MT that was removed
I replied to your earlier post, as did a couple of other MTs, however, now I see that your message has been removed.
I just wanted to try to touch base with you again.
If you are still looking for help and would like to contact me you can do so via replying via email to this post.
Thanks....
I wonder why your post was removed before?? Moderator, info?
If you're "old" enough you could go to the AARP free tax......
people at the library or wherever they are holding it in a town near you. Think you only have to be 55. I tried it this year and was very pleased. They are knowledgeable and up-to-date.
GREAT idea! AARP can be very vocal - (sm)
about issues of importance. And as someone who will most likely still be working well past retirement age, I was hoping to keep doing MT at home. And that of course would keep putting more money INTO the Social Security system, not taking it out!
Good thinking about AARP! :)
Check with AARP, They might have a group plan.
I agree about being IC. If you take an appointment with a company and you do not stay to schedule, it will be stressful for you and unfair to them. This happened to me. Decided to go IC with 2 places (both part-time) so I never have a set schedule, but I do work most weekends (my choice). My husband provides health insurance though. I know there are groups you can buy into though. If you go to the AARP web site, they may have a number of someone you can call who can make suggestions. Good luck!
$85 on each kid, $15 on other family members, nothing for DH and I.
10 members of DH's family (by drawing), 6 members of my family, 3 kids. About $500 total on gifts, then Christmas dinner, postage, and other stuff. I wish we didn't participate in the big family gifts because it's always just an exchange of things nobody wants or needs. I can only use so much bubble bath and scented candles in a year.

AHDI members.
Did you know there is a corporate member of the AHDI that is known to be a scam? I am not allowed to post the name on this board evidently as it keeps refusing my post when I try to post the name saying it is a “bad word,” but it is a company that will train you for free, have you pay $400 for software, and then tells you they will hire you and pay you once you are up to their standards. However, somehow, the MTs they train can never live up to their standards. How do you feel about this company being a member of your organization? Who exactly does AHDI represent? Why do they allow a company that is known to scam MTs and is a complete ripoff to be a member of their organization? Will this company soon be an "approved" school? LOL. Any thoughts on this? Please share.
Yes, and his team members were supportive, which will help. sm
I've been trying to think of where I saw Kelly LeBrock before -- wasn't she the one who did those commercials for the shampoo, saying "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful?" I might be thinking of someone else. I guess I'm showing my age, just by mentioning that commercial ... oops.
Not myself, but 3 family members had it done and absolutely
recommend it to anyone. They all had wonderful results with no problems.

Terry has lied to 4 jury members
Terry told his team (Sally, Austin, ...?) when they merged that he would give them the immunity idol if they were voted off, but when the time came he did not give them the idol so that they could keep the numbers on their side. Well, last night he did it again. He told Danielle that he would give her the idol so that she would not be voted off and did it, nope, he didn't give it to her. So, thats 4 people on the jury that Terry has lied to and I would bet that there are several other on that jury who do not like him either. So anyone in the final 2 with Terry (if he makes that far) should win the big $$$$$.
I felt bad for Shane getting the axe because I think that him and his son could have really used that money.

It is cheaper for members. Only one test but 2 parts.

I signed up too...1st 500 members free, I was 303...hurry! .sm
I did sign up since it was free. I didn't have much time to peruse the entire website. Other than having a 20% discount in their store, what are the other advantages that justify a $99 membership fee??
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all MTStars members! Have a great day!

It is amazing how pets really become real members of the family, isn't it?
Gotta lov'em! :-)
Well, it sounds like your unfortunate family members need to help YOU out for a change.
No offense, but family are supposed to help each other out it trying times.
you sound arrogant to me. "unfortunate family members?"
like they can't take care of themselves without your noble gifts. Maybe you should be reading some books on codependence.
AHDI Board Members Salary Info
Unless things have changed, I don't believe the board members are paid. They do receive reimbursement for travel and a food allowance. They go to board meetings every month or so at different places around the country and stay in the nice hotels.
My in-laws invite nonfamily members to our holiday get togethers.
The more, the merrier. Besides, most of the other people have nowhere else to go because their families are all out of state or dead. The holiday season is about family AND friends.
As for getting drunk, are they really polishing off several bottles of liquor, or is it just a glass of wine or a beer or two? My family is the type that only drinks on the holidays, but we drink slowly and eat plenty of food so we do not get drunk.
It sounds to me as if you have some issues with your sister. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying your feelings are not valid. I am saying that you need to draw some boundaries and detach yourself from her. Maybe she resents having to host every year. I know I do. We spend way more than everyone else does even though it's supposed to be buffet, parents don't watch their small kids, I spend several days cooking and cleaning with not a thank you in sight.
Start some new traditions of your own. Go to church. Volunteer with people who truly have nothing.
We know of some people who turn every family occasion into a drunken brawl complete with injuries, fights and police intervention. Be thankful your life isn't worse! I sure am.
Yes, been there. I borrowed from my family members. Luckily, they had it to give me. Doing great
