Task bar. I do this by accident a couple of times a year
and I fix it, but can't figure out what I've done to fix it.
I have my task bar at the bottom of my screen usually, but now it is on the far right and I can't figure out how to get it back on the bottom. I know you normally click and drag, but I can't get it do down, just side to side. I even push the down arrow but that doesn't seem to do it either.
Times change..including this policy about who is able to post. About a year ago,
this board started letting everyone post job openings, at least to what I can remember. I know at one point if they were India-based/affiliated etc..then they could not advertise but since anymore it is so rampant with companies being associated with India, they started letting them post. I could be wrong but this is what I recall.
IT only takes me a couple times...
of eating out and then I like my own cooking again. Most restaurant food is too expensive, the portions are too big and it tastes like it was made with no love! Maybe a cookbook with easy recipes would be the answer to the blahs!
I've had it a couple of times.
Doctor gave me a sheet of exercises to do on my own which just amounted to moving my head and/or eyes around in different positions. It can be just a horrible thing to have. Yours is probably worse than mine if you have to "have therapy."
tried doing that a couple of times, still didn't help - sm
thanks for the suggestion. I guess the other thing I should mention is that it is not happening on my other laptop that I use for all hospital work, just my private laptop.
any other ideas as to what it could be??
Did it again a couple times and worked now!!! Thank U!!
so much!! :)

Or how about just a circuit around the house a couple of times?
I worked graveyards at hotels for years. When it got really bad I'd get up and walk around the lobby, or get the security guard to watch the front desk for me so I could walk around the hotel. Or do jumping jacks, or do something like an 8 minute Billy Blanks video. Just something to get your blood moving again. I have an elliptical machine that I'll get on for a minute or two or three in the middle of a shift just to get my blood going and to get some circulation to my hind end.
The other alternative is how about actually taking a 10 minute power nap? Do you take a lunch or dinner break in the middle of your shift? Get a little alarm clock you can set and put by your desk and just close your eyes for 10 minutes.
I had a brutal schedule for a number of years where I worked 8 am to 5 pm at one job, went home and took a nap then went to the hotel at 10:30 pm to 7:30 am, went right back to the other job until noon. Then went home and passed out (hopefully) to go back to work at the hotel that night at 10:30. On that first night, I'd sit in my chair around 3 am when it was the quietest and my work was done and just take a nap. I'm really good at sleeping sitting up. The security guard knew not to bug me between 3 and about 3:45. I found that if I got a 30 minute nap then I was good to go for another several hours.
Good luck. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

I power nap for 20-25 minutes a couple times a week - just depends
others I don't. But 2-2:30 is usually my time to have no energy, so it is nap time -- I find when I do this I can stay up later and work, on days I don't I have to go to bed by 10 or 11.
Filing as couple, pay over $400 per year
at H&R but the reason we have them done there is husband is union and the person doing them much aware of union deductions, lots doing them are not and also we itemize as before had 3 properties (2 rentals, 1 our living place) and we always got back quite a bit and then with my home office and work expenses I can take off, last year I think we got back close to $10,000 so worth it to us.
There are a couple of others that talk about this but none this year that i have found nm

Yes, I tried to post same last night about 10 times, and it won't let me post.
I used to breed lab puppies (please no activist flames)! I had a champion female white Canadian lab, and people would be on a list for years if by chance I bred her, which I did twice, and so that I could continue her line. Anyhow, she's my sweet Skye who passed away 2 months ago? At any rate, we had the same problems with kids in the "hood" who wanted to come over and play once the puppies were old enough to be exercised daily and played with. At first I thought, how cute, right? Puppies and little kids - what better picture! Well, the majority of kids were adorable, but there were always 1 or 2 sick ones who would smack the pups, smash and hold their heads in the dirt (a real common thing, but I don't know why - psychiatrist anyone). At any rate, I finally had to ban the whole group due to the 1 or 2 creeps, had to call the police, the whole 9 yards, and that's EXACTLY what the police officer told me - next thing is there will be poison meat or a donut in the yard. He told me to always go out and patrol my yard, especially alone the fence line every day before I let the dogs out, particularly at night. I went out with a flashlight. It was about a month later, but sure enough - poison meat. Because there were so many kids involved, we obviously couldn't pin point the exact family, but the police went and read the riot act to them all. It would stop and not happen again for a year or so, but every now and again we would find something. My dogs were NEVER out and barking, so it was nothing like that - it was just over the puppies and the cruel kids.... Not trying to freak you, but that's the way these kids and their families are. You can really judge someone's character by ill treatment of a PUPPY, of all things. And the parents?? They sound whacked. Please be careful.
Funny thing I see the same errors repeated for over a year now of training no matter how many times
you correct it. I think you had better get your facts straight HON.
Tried to post 3 times yesterday and kept getting

I was going to suggest knitting/crochet. It is all the rage these days and they have lots of groups that get together in various locations to knit and chat, sip coffee, etc.
I have a book called Teach Yourself Visually Knitting & Crocheting - I got it at B&N for about $25.00. Wonderful book. I have been knitting for a year but whenever I need help on a new technique or can't remember something I pull it out. It has actual photos of how to do the stitches instead of a B&W drawing, that a lot of books have. I'm sure you could find the book cheaper on-line. If she would like to take lessons it seems everyone is offering them these days and in the groups there is always someone willing to help out when needed.
You can get a skein of yarn and some needles for about $10.00 or less. Hobby Lobby has sales all the time.
Knitting can evolve into spinning and dyeing too. I haven't done either yet, but hope to learn both.
There are thousands of patterns you can get on-line for free, though if she develops a yarn fetish it can get quite expensive.

In retrospect, it was nearly laughable.
I think the suits should do the ESL's themselves,
.
Well going up against corporate suits
is not such a simple thing.
As soon as the suits was $$ in transcription they descended on the trade and scarfed up a huge chunk of the work. That would be fine if the end result was fair pay and an improved product, but really it equates to some fat cat CEO reaping the benefits while the worker bees, well, work.
Solutions? Here's the hard truth: How many people are willing to walk away from jobs that pay (at least most) of the bills?
Not saying there isn't power in numbers BECAUSE THERE IS! but getting large numbers of people willing to walk the walk at the same time is not easy... just look at how easy it was for our government to ignore millions of patriots protesting this fake war (we knew it all along)...
Suggestions?
Here's what I think the "clueless" suits think...
They think we are just Betty Crocker housewives who still wear pumps, skirts, and aprons every day and do this "typing thing" on the side for manicure money. They know this industry is almost all chicks, and they know that a lot of women will take abuse and not do squatola about it.
I honestly don't think they realize that MOST of us are doing this to actually make a living. I mean, if they did, they would realize that they didn't have to crack a whip or be verbal blowhards--we know we have to work hard to make a paycheck. We know we are paid on production and if we don't produce, we don't get paid.
I'm applied at a couple of the BIG companies you see advertise on here all the time and was absolutely blown away when they couldn't tell me exactly how their platforms worked. The folks interviewing, the folks doing the hiring, are obviously not MTs, have never been "in the trenches" and that kinda blows my mind.
suits - I agree
I totally agree. I work for KS and I'm sure the owner is a Transcriptionist and is very good to work for, knowing the ins and outs of the whole job.

To RadGuy re the suits: I agree, but...
Why do we continue to work for x cpl? I was talking to a teacher friend recently and compared her job to ours. I told her it'd be no different if she had a very difficult student the entire school year and the student ended up being held back. Should that teacher get docked a % of her pay, or not get paid at all because she was unable to "complete" her projected goal? Obviously not. So why should it be any different for us?
Not long ago my PS sent a msg to all of us about a certain client complaining about all the blanks on their reports. PS knows it's a very difficult ESL acct. But nothing is done about getting the docs, the Q, & MTs together to suggest ways to improve it for patient care in the end. The most frustrating part is that everyone would win from it. But the "suits" are intimidated about making someone mad. I never once had a doc get mad about suggestions for making the report better and obviously faster in getting on the chart. It is for this reason that I'm very much against production (and unions) when having to deal with such horrible dictation literally 99% of the time. I simply don't believe that I should make less money for things that clearly are beyond my control and now consume my shift, day in and day out. If I were getting paid more, and likely a difficulty factor (remember that?), it'd be more legit in my book.
Also, throw the bad soundfiles in and "voila..."
I also got a msg from support at 8:20 CST saying they're still working to solve the problem but have no ETA as to when it'll be resolved. Just an fyi.
Too bad ignorance isn't painful!
I had a doc say that the patient is a 95-year-old post menopausal woman..

Fine. Be sure to post back here in a year and tell me about her at-home job. nm

Gemini - absolutely suits me - two personalities!
Don't know which one is coming out when I wake up in the morning LOL!
I have 2 middle age couple friends. One couple became pregnant from condom failure.
This is not just "irresponsible" behavior! Both couples are "fixed" now, because for them, reliable birth control was NOT. But it's an error to assume this stuff happens to people who are unmarried or irresponsible. Both these couples are raising 2nd families, now, but it wasn't "irresponsibility" that did them in!
I used "normal" multiple times only because the post I responded to used "normal" as the
By normal I meant NOT sexually perverted, NOT socially inept, NOT desperate, etc.
I also posted later that maybe I misunderstood what the original poster was talking about. I originally thought she meant internet dating in general, but now it seems more like she means married men looking for "friends" online, which is totally different and not at all anything I have any knowledge of.
I have no idea, though, what your comment about "DC" is regarding. I didn't say anything at all about a "DC."
Amen.... Gravity is definitely working on my 45-year-old, post breastfeeding mammaries.

You'll hear this claim in all fields by "the suits"
I've said it before and I'll say it again...back that sh^t up with a specific name or a place so there can be actual consequences. I can throw anything in quotes and say I heard it from somewhere or someone. It holds no water and only serves to get people workedup for an invisible fight.
Am I doubting what she heard is true? Maybe, maybe not. It can't be proven because there is no factual evidence provided. However, my mother was an LPN and she always said her higherups referred to her as nothing more than an overpaid candystriper or overpaid a$$ wiper. My father, a machine mechanic, said he was referred to as an overpaid janitor. It's a wicked old and wicked lame argument to get the reader or listener riled up to basically do nothing and it's amateur stuff. But, that's just me.
SHOW US THE NAMES! Then we can gather our pitchforks, burning keyboards, and Betty Crocker aprons and go to war!
Mine are in year-round thank goodness! They've started their new year 2 months ago.

I think he makes $700,000.00 a year, and if they ask him to walk before his first year MQ has...sm
to pay him a cool 1 million dollars. You can check this out at the Medquist website. I think the CFO makes $350,000 a year, and the head of IT makes $250.000 a year.
P.S. This does not include the perks, like expense account, car allowance, sign-on bonus, etc.
Our 16 year old son has been working for a year now to pay for his truck.
He's learning how to sand and do body work and how the engine and transmission go together. My parents didn't buy cars for my siblings and I either. I had a 20+ year old beater car until I could afford to move up to a a newer one.
I see all the nice new cars parked in the high school parking lot every day. It's nice that so many disrespectful punk kids get handed something nicer to drive than what all the teachers drive. Oh, well. Honestly, I think most of them borrow Mommy or Daddy's car or are the child of a doctor who can afford to hand them everything.
Hopefully, my kids will take better care of their cars because they bought and built them on their own. You're not going to grow up to be responsible if you don't work hard for something and expect Mommy and Daddy to bail you out all the time.
Oh, my Dad lectured us on even allowing our child to have a vehicle because Dad didn't have one until after he had worked his way through college, lettered on the football team, got straight As, lettered on the baseball team, yadda yadda. He either walked or hitched a ride. Yeah, well, times were different back then, Daddy-O. LOL At least my kid has the opportunity to work and earn his own car.
IC - 30 hours week, $98K last year. So far this year - 28K. sm
