Check & make sure screws and springs are tight underneath. I've had trouble with them coming loose. (Lead-foot! LOL)

Some folks have actually had to reinstall the software, particularly Express Scribe.

- Try looking at the Playbeck or Rewind settings of whatever player you're using and - see if changing those helps. nm
