This is realistic to me and definitely what a "seasoned" experienced Transcriptionist should earn. By this, I mean a transcriptionist that does not have to have someone go behind her and check her work, someone that can be trusted to work her shift and someone with years of experience in hospital or multi-specialty practices. Someone with these qualifications deserves at least $50,000 per year. A newbie just getting into the field, maybe $13,000 per year.
ALSO: I do not think that it is very wise to hire newbies for hospital work. I believe that newbies should work their way up from office notes, etc. It's better for all involved, including the transcriptionist herself.
