I once worked a summer holiday shift by myself and transcribed something so awful that I tear up when I think about it today. It was the death of a 3-year-old, and I got ALL the 5 dictations regarding the course of this little girl. Give me the "vanity" surgeries on holidays anytime. It is not up to us to make a judgement about who "deserves" treatment, it's just our job to transcribe it correctly. The work you transcribed may have been boring, but that lets your mind drift to loving thoughts about your own family and how you will all be together soon. Like the above poster says, turn your mind to loving thoughts, even for the patient you have prejudged, your heart rate will lower and believe it or not, the day will pass more quickly.

I have done for some years now and never want to totally straight transcribe again. I have no idea about working for page pay, never did it that way so cannot state any ideas on that. VR certainly is not as taxing on me as in the past. I can make (do a little straight still) on part time work around $500 a week.
I do still love you, though, as an internet friend and poster! I just got really crushed a few
months back, and just went away...But I'm back! In case you hadn't noticed. But I forgot that when I post as Laurie, then some other Laurie surfaces - the evil Laurie! Oh well. Such is life on message boards!

It's a sad world with all of the hate and anger when there is so much to see and do and be thankful for.
I honestly think that John Lennon would have been absolutely mortifed, had he lived long enough to see all of the hate that has made our world crazy.

Ah finally some peace!! I guess those
people who kept calling and calling finally decided to give up. Not sure why or what happened, but when I emailed the phone company to tell them what had been happening, maybe they actually did trace it and the people decided to stop. Whatever the reason, I am sooo glad!! Now watch them call- lol!! They were calling 5 times a day. They only called once yesterday. Whew!!

Thank you for speaking up. I could never understand why everyone wanted to condemn that poor woman. Seems to me that all the people who wanted to condemn her are the sickos.
It is disturbing the peace if they bark incessantly.
We have a bark collar for our dog and bring her in if she's barking. She barks at anyone that walks by, which is what I want because she's our guard dog. Our neighbors aren't so nice. I've gotten to the point where I just lean out the window and yell, "SHUT UP!!!!" I don't like to involve the cops or animal control because our neighbors are the type to retaliate.

I always feel like good things don't last forever and I need a safety net. Weird, I know, but I always have this fear that if something happens to my IC client, I will fall back to having nothing.
Change is always constant in this field.

My doctor, I would hope, is a professional and I would not appreciate him talking about me or my body while he is on the phone dictating. Number one he was wrong in doing that and number two, the person who posted the information here was wrong. We are making light of a woman's dilemma about her body. I find it most distasteful and most likely breaking the rules of the hospital where he was dictating from.

I posted a post below saying I thought trade schools were underrated and were a very viable alternative to a college degree. A poster responded by writing that people who feel that way aren't college material.
Dano objected to the rudeness of that poster, and now everyone is ganging up on her simply because she thinks people should be treated nicely and with respect.

We're just having a fun day. Are we allowed? I've also noticed that many of the questions that have no answers posted are the ones that have already been asked and answered ad nauseum. Check archives. People get tired of repeating the same things over and over.

To the OP, with the job market being what it is, MTSOs are inundated with resumes when they advertise. Keep at it and if you find a company that you really think sounds like a good fit, keep pinging them with e mail, call them if you can get a phone number, and be really aggressive. The squeaky wheel that stands out is what is going to get their attention.

hooey! Forty five-year-old people getting high, cussing like teenagers (can you say no class), and acting like idiots? You MUST be an old hippie. The establishement? LOL Yes, I must be a sell out. MTSO here - I *used* to send my accounts Christmas gifts, but I stopped doing it. Why? Because one year, after sending a $100.00 gift basket to one of my docs, for thanks, he dictated a formal letter to me, mixed in with his other dictation, thanking me!!??
Another very well to do doc sent me a $3.00 or so Walmart-style Hersey mug with a little bag of Hersey kisses in return for the nice gift basket I sent him.
Two years in a row, another doc couldn't even scrung up a thank you note - no acknowledgement whatsoever.
Another office did the same thing - no thank you - no note - no nothing.
Needless to say, my gift giving came to an end after about three years of this.
You're turning this lighthearted thread into something entirely too deep. Lighten up.
