I'm the same as you, Baffled. Long ago, I snatched up the first DOS Expander I ever heard of and quickly filled it up until abbreviations literally fell out (it was primitive). Much as I agree with your wonder with respect to some, though, a lot of people after all are employees in hospitals and clinics, working on company equipment, on company programs, and not only aren't exposed to other technology but sometimes are specifically not allowed to use expanders. Developing an expander skill is so important that I'd quit rather than fall behind, but I can say that because it doesn't mean losing a job I've had for a very long time... For anybody else reading, since I'm on the topic: Do not allow your employer to own the expander dictionaries you develop. If you work on company property, have an updated disk in your pcoket, every day when you leave work, or e-mail it home. I own my expander and not only can have a new job at any of a dozen companies within a half day in some cases but can go straight to work with minimal interruption. Best wishes.
