Okay everybody - got a question. About 6 months ago, a friend moved in with me to help us both out with the bills. When she moved in at the end of the month, she told me she did not get paid until 2 weeks later and would not have any money until then. I said that was okay, I was not hurting at the moment, and she could pay me then. Okay, 2 weeks later she paid me a month's rent. She paid me again 4 weeks later for the month. Then at the end of the month, a couple of days before the date that she had moved in, she paid me again. Well, I considered this catching herself up and paying on time from that time on...
Now fast forward to present... she decided not to pay me this month because she says since she paid me twice in that month she was a month ahead, not just on time. She is now mad because she says when I told her she did not have to pay for that first two weeks that that was not saying she could wait to pay me, that was saying she did not have to pay any rent towards the first two weeks she was living here.
My question is, how many of you would have thought I meant no rent would be owed at all the first two weeks and how many think I just meant I would be nice and wait on some money? Then when I asked her had she ever rented a houe and got to live there for a couple of weeks free she got offended and said if I wanted to treat her as a "renter" then that is the way she would act from now on - is that not what she is?
