I too have hypothyroidism diagnosed 12 years ago by an internest who upon first glance at me, prior to even being seated on the exam table, said *how long have you had that goiter?* My TSH was at 65! synthroid..yeah, like taking a sugar pill, did nothing. I am taking Armour now, and feel better, but no weight loss, plenty of hair loss, and insomnia. I stay away from soy, as I heard a long time ago it was similar to estrogen and female hormones only exacerbate the problem (so my doc put my on Premarin and Effexor! GOOD choice, NOT). I did not know about the fluoride though, although I have felt for years that there is a connection, as the hypothyroid *epidemic* began with the American people at about the approximate time, so I WILL be getting a flouride filter, as well. I already use the Brita and felt it was sufficient. Guess I was wrong.
I did also recently hear about another thyroid supplement that is having some success. It is called Thyroid-S and it is not available hear in the U.S. I had to purchase mine from Thailand. I have not checked my weight, as I am afraid to and avoid the scale like the plague, but I DO feel more energetic when I take it (and that's the operative word *when*). I also take B6, Biotin for hair loss, and zinc, and it has definately cured my insomnia. Us hypothyroid people need to stick together and share info on this disease. We deserve to live a vital life, as well as normal people do. So, thank you all for posting this. ks.
