My son was the same way. My son was VERY attached. I tried every suggestion my doctor and other mothers gave me and nothing worked. I finally had to quit cold turkey when he was 23 months old. It was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT that first week. My husband had to lay down with him to get him to go to sleep, and sometimes it would take up to an hour of him crying himself to sleep. But after that first week it got easier. You just have to be resolved to quit and stick with it.

Weaning HELP!!!!!
I am the mother of three. My two oldest weaned themselves before they were six months old. Now I have my youngest who is almost sixteen months old and REFUSES to wean. He eats adult food, drinks from sippies and cups. ( He has never ever had a bottle of any kind he has refused them since day one). Its not like he is on 24/7 but sometimes it feels like it. He has to have mom (if I am home) for mornings, naps and bed time, I have had to leave for a few weekends and he does okay the first day but stops eating the second and has terrible crying fits until I get home.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I like your way of thinking! I have been able to keep him off for two days except to go to bed at night the plan is that tonight will be his last night of getting boob at bedtime and so hopefully with daddy and sisters help we will get him to bed without mommy. Thanks for the bandaid tip it worked great this afternoon when he through a fit he ended up going to sleep while patting my boob saying owwwwww. he was so cute I felt guilty. Thank you.
Get weaning food at PetStore, use a syringe, feed the formula, cooked veggies SM
I looked on Google and got totally carried away reading about the lovebirds. One thing, if your birds are hand-fed they will be much better pets, will allow you to handle them when they are grown. If you have no dogs or cats, you might even let them have a birdie playground on top of the cage, but that's for somebody who has really worked with the little guys since Day One of life. Have Fun!
