Well, it is a natural bodily function. It's not that we go around in our home doing this for the fun of it, but it does happen......and, yes, guys tend to think it's really funny and will do it amongst themselves as well as burping, just to see who is the loudest. My sweet MIL passed away a long time ago, but my hubby use to say she had silent killers and bought her a T-shirt one year with holes all in it to advertise the fact.....this was a very prim and proper lady but she got a kick out of it. When our children were little and this happened, my hubby would say, oh speak again toothless wonder! They weren't sure what that meant except it had something to do with that. I didn't have this silly rule in school and we even turned out doctors, lawyers, engineers, nurses, etc., etc. I even had teachers laugh quietly when this would happen where anyone could hear and usually the person who had this happen was embarrassed to death! They need to get over themselves and find better things to do, like actually teach something.
