Know how I remember how to spell
chihuahua - I always say to myself chee hooa hooa and that's how I remember how to spell it. I have a chi myself and I could never remember how to spell it when I went to get dog license. :)
Spell Checkers
I am looking to purchase a spell checker today or this weekend. Any preferences out there. I have downloaded Spellex and been practicing with it. Everyone says purchase Stedman's, it is cheaper than Spellex, but is it better. I would like advise from some experienced Transcriptionist on the subject.
I can never spell corroborate - i have it
every misspelling I have ever done in my expander. Also, I seem to have a different word every day that I spell wrong, no matter what, consistently.

I guess now a days you have to spell
it out very clearly. When I first read your post, I knew who HE was but I guess some others did not get it. I guess IDOL RESULTS should be everyones heading, and then if they read it, oh well.
My sister's dogs can spell.
You can't even spell D-O-G P-A-R-K in front of them or they go whacko. Her dogs can also bring you the particular toy you ask for. The pig, or the bunny, or the hedgehog, LOL.
Doctors who spell out simple words,
and leave you hang out to dry on the most obscure term or referring physician spelling if it is an odd name. I'll be darn though, they will spell out "the" t-h-e, p-a-t-i-e-n-t, but never the hard stuff... . ????? I wonder why? People using cell phones when they are driving and not paying attention. People that pull out in front of you, and then go 5 mph. I hate it when the grocery bagger puts all the soap products in with my meat or food goods! Great, now the roast smells like Dove Cucumber and Melon bar soap? Hubby is going to think this is delicious!!!!! UUGGHH!
Good, cheap spell checkers? (sm)
Does anyone know a good medical spellchecker that is fairly cheap? My c drive crashed today - just got it fixed - and I cannot find my Stedman's CD anywhere. I need to work tomorrow so I want to get something on here quick. There are lots of others out there but I don't know anything about them. I had downloaded one at one point that would automatically correct my words when my spelling was very close. Would love to find that one again but don't remember what it was.
