My daughter teaches 8 to 9 year old kids, many who are on tons of medications for so-called ADHD, psychological disorders, as well as many other things that the doctors diagnose them with so they can take another pill. They do have very poor diets at home because of situations which you obviously are in the dark about. Many of her children feel sick during the day, throw up more than the average healthy child, have diarrhea, are constipated, have very bad gas and stomach upset from toxic medications intended to calm them down, and she has to be patient with them. They go to the bathroom a lot and feel sick a lot. A lot of them are under emotional stress at home and that come to school with them, which adds to these problems. She has spoken with their physicians. Most of the kids are embarrassed when stuff happens. They have a bad home life, little or NO diet at home, the only meal they get is at school and I question whether that passes for a meal, as does she. The medicines and lack of nourishing meals all add up. I've been in those classrooms tutoring and, believe me, it is a LOT different.... they are a lot different from when I attended school, even from when my daughter attended school. If their moms had not chose to do crack or alcohol through their pregnancies, a lot of these kids would have a better start at life. A lack of proper nutrition causes a lot of their tummy problems too.
I know what some of the posters mean about some kids just acting out cause they don't care and lack discipline, but this is not the case for these little ones.
