Thanks! I am going to try another brand of food. He tends to get nasty hairballs and the food he is on now seems to help, but that's probably what is causing him to gain weight. I actually did buy a laser light! My other cat could chase that thing all day, but the one that actually needs the exercise just stares at it! I have resorted to crumpling up paper and throwing it around the room and sometimes that works - I think because he thinks it's something he's not supposed to play with! Thank you for the ideas!
