skipping
Like the following poster, there were some times when I felt on the outside, but not really until high school, when people were getting their licenses & starting to drive. Before then I don't think I was really aware of a difference.
I spent a few weeks in the 1st grade, & then the teacher thought I should be moved up in order to be more academically challenged, & my parents said okay. I think right after my joining the new class was the only time I remember being difficult, but only it the way that it might have been for any "new kid." But a few of the kids in the new class lived near me & were already my playmates anyway, & this helped.
Overall I would say socially it wasn't too big a deal. But in order to truly challenge a kid who is gifted, I think getting out of the public school system altogether might be better. Waldorf would have been fantastic for me, but no one knew about it back then.
Well skipping meals no matter
what kind of condition you have is not good. I have also heard that thyroid problem causes weight gain, but good food choices should still override this condition. We all have vices, and we all can have excuses. Just keep trying!
