Good Search engine
Hi Folks,
I am wonderng how many MTs know about the search engine Good Search. This is a search engine like Google but it is really neat because for every search 1 penny is donated to the not-for-profit group of your choice. You can pick out the group you would like your donations to go through by clicking on the letter of the alphabet and searching for your charity.
Of course I hope you will choose the group I volunteer with which is Pet Rescue By Judy, http://www.petrescuebyjudy.com
At any rate, this is a wonderful way for MTs to donate money to charity without any real effort on our parts and since there are so many of us we really have a great opportunity to help these groups. You can still use your other search engines but any clicks for charity over on GoodSearch will help! You can also use it when you do online shopping, say for instance on eBay. If you go to GoodSearch and just click on the shopping icon and then on eBay, you can shop as usual but a percentage will be paid to the charity of your choice and it does not cost you anything. They have many places participating in their shopping program.

Did you try Replacements Limited to search for your pattern pieces? Or even an eBay search? ..sm
Replacements Limited has been very helpful to me in the past. If you're determined to paint your own, go into Michael's and check through all their paints for those made especially for glass and ceramics. You'll end up having to hand wash and dry your item since the paint can't be fired on, but it should work, even if you have to keep touching it up as the years go buy. But do a search first and maybe you'll get lucky that way! :)

I have a 9 y/o shih tzu with diabetes. The symptoms run so close that I am almost convinced it is Cushing's instead. Just a matter of convincing the vet to do the correct tests. This web site gives a good crash course in Cushings.

My Tazz has all of the symptoms listed for Cushings. I have had to put him on a diet, "low to no" carbs which puts buiscuits out of the picture but we eat a lot of fruit and veggies now and high protein treats. He also takes insulin 32 units twice a day. I was blessed here with a dog that does not mind shots. I actually diagnosed him myself just from the symptoms and asked to have sugar checked. Vet blamed it on stress from an eye infection until I kept taking him back. He still drinks a lot and will eat everything in the house if I will let him. He had gained a lot of weight. He was 32 pounds and for a shih tzu that is a lot. He is unusually large for a shih tzu to start with which goes with an adrenal disorder, but he has lost weigh since being put on insulin and the diet, but still drinks about a quart of water at a time and urinates just that much. In Cushing's they tend to be immune to the insulin and that's what happened to us...took a while to regulate him. He is taking Vetsulin now but will be changed tomorrow to NPH, hopefully which is cheaper. If they have to get needles buy them at wal-mart or somewhere equivalent. BIG difference in price. I started giving chromium picolinate as well, which is really what regulated my boy. I also give daily vitamins and acidophilus for his intestinal tract. Today is the second day with our first puppy (7 week basset hound). The pooing after eating is helpful info. He has had a couple of accidents, but we generally get him outside before he goes, and now maybe we can prevent future accidents. As for peeing, he seems to pee every 10 minutes unless he is on the couch or in the bed.
Last night was his first night by himself in the crate and he cried for three hours straight. We finally gave up and brought him into the bed with us. He actually did fine all night. Only had to go once (around 3 a.m.) before it was time to get up for the day.

I was going to suggest maybe removing the hard drive and shipping it and then purchase a computer there and replace it, or save all files needed to disc and then just take those. At least buying a computer you would have something to show for your money. Attached URL has some interesting information that might be worth considering. I basically did what you are doing but on my own. I owe a lot. My credit card companies wouldn't work with me as far as lowering my previous rates so I investigated and found a site that lists all the current 'deals' with other cards and did balance transfers. Let me tell you for one I got 0% for a while and then 3.9 for the life of the balance! I still can't believe it. Another was 0% for like 18 months and then 8.9 for the life of the balance. So I'm proof it can be done! You do need near perfect credit though to get these really good deals but it's worth the little bit of work involved for those who do pay on time and are just tired of paying those high interest rates :)

Yes, they do. 10-month teachers make more than 9-month
teachers. I know that for a fact. One of my sisters was a 9-month, one is a 10-month. They are compensated for working more scheduled hours.

My mother had rental properties and has evicted tenants twice because her daughter (sis) decided she wanted to live there. Those tenants were pretty upset at the time too, because they didn't want to move. A landlord isn't required to have a reason for taking back their property or raising the rent. They will likely give you a good reference since you're been a good tenant.
A year after Katrina, all the landlords on the Gulf Coast decided to double or triple their rent, just because they could. Due to the housing crisis rents are going to continue to rise, because more people are losing their homes and looking for apartments. Its all about supply and demand.
The bright side is that working at home allows you to live "anywhere", so you could see this as an opportunity to move somewhere completely different. That's what I did, and I haven't regretted it.
If it is a month-to-month lease -
If there is no signed lease stating a specific time (1 yr, 2 yr, etc.) then it is implied as a month-to-month least and either the tenant or LL can terminate at any time.
I would look for a place pronto if I was the OP.
And she should get another job pronto too if the one she got ain't paying the bills. No reason to let it go on month after month, paycheck after paycheck, until you are in the street, that is just plain stupid.
If she is getting evicted --- there is more to this story I believe.

What is your pattern name on back? I bought a magnolia pattern several years ago, actually paied $72 for an 8 piece setting from ABC Distributing. Gold trim with wine and hunter green stripe on outside with pinecones, magnolias and Berries, Magnolia pattern from Tienshan China. Curious if it is same set. Later I meb my best friend of 10 years now. We are so much alike and were stunned to know that we had the same set of china. Identical pattern. The only difference was that hers had a gold, wine and then deep blue band where mine was green. Hers also cost several hundred dollars and was a Savannah pattern or something of the like. What if you got a solid color gravey boat other than white, to match the set and maybe trimmed it with gold. Would still like to know that pattern.

In your opinion, is it more fruitful to go on an open house when all the departments are out there with handouts and such, or on individual or small group appointments with maybe a little more one-on-one?

IF it does work, maybe you could get the girl to come back and help clean it up? It's amazing how much money you will save by doing all the cooking yourselves at home and brown-bagging lunch. This includes those $2 cups of coffee here and there every day--really adds up fast!
Keep your goal somewhere in site...literally slapping a picture of your dreamhouse on the fridge or some place you'll be reminded every day of why you are making the sacrifices you are making. Good luck!
Since you have a month, why don't you
get together and do a pic of the team or even a few and frame it! I'm sure he'd like that. You can even go to one of those machines, have it blown up and have it say something special down below.
Also, they like gift cards to the local convenience store. Everyone could use a gift of "gas" especially when they are volunteers...

Ours is usually between $200-$250 per month.
Our electric company has some of the highest rates in the country...lucky us! Our bills usually go up a bit in the summer from using the air conditioning and running the pump for our pool. Electricity is definitely our highest utility bill!

This happened to an older friend of mine. Poor thing couldn't get another policy to save her life, and it wasn't a cosmetic issue, it was like entire siding pieces that flew off of her house. Oh, they and came fixed it, then they dropped her like a bad disease. They'd better be careful. Just a friendly warning... I don't know if I'd let the homeowner's insurance in on that deal, I'd cut my losses and replace the carpet.

Go there a lot, the Flamingo is catty-corner to the Bellagio where we have stayed the last 2 times there. Know where it is because I went to a show there. Older place, smoky, they have real flamingos out in the back with ducks, etc, been there but not to stay. Toni Braxton headlining there and George Wallce comedian there now. Know what I talk about.
I know, she hasn't been on here in about a month or so
