My ex's family was so uptight. They thought I was from Mars. They thought I was always angry (I wasn't). I used to say, I'm not yelling AT you, I'm just yelling & you happen to be standing there. (I have wanted to say the same thing on this board a few times). I don't know. I thought they were equally strange...a family so repressed, they wouldn't even say to each other "you have something hanging out of your nose." I thought that was hilarious. They did not see the humor.
