The news does tend to be bad, true. Put your head back in the sand then.
However, see if you can stomach this....2 yr old toddler disappears for a month as her mother appears to party like a 22 year old with no children by the camera's eye. When grandma finally realizes something is amiss upon discovering her daughters abandoned car with the smell of decomposing human tissue in the trunk, the 911 calls begin. Casey Anthony is a deeply disturbed young woman who by all appearances seems to have done away with her beautiful little girl by means of a shovel and gasoline. The truly unfortunate person here is the child, Caylee, whose mother is a monster.

i've been letting my hair grow out for almost a year and a half. i've always worn my hair very very short, easy to take care of. but with the help of my hubby giving me encouragement, i have hair that just touches my shoulders now. i have naturally wavy/curly hair, thick. i have layers in mine and after i get out of the shower, i put some mousse in it and let it air dry. if i dry my hair with a dryer, i turn into a big frizz ball. i bought a hair magazine with pictures in it and there are some really good articles in there for the different hair types. they recommend you don't wash your hair every single day, because that can dry out your hair. good luck!

At the end, it says something about her being up for adoption, but I've read that she has been adopted. It looks like she's doing great now.
I'm disappointed that her abuser didn't receive more punishment. I live in So. Calif, and I thought we had stronger anti-cruelty laws. (I find myself wondering why his crime was only considered a misdemeanor!) But at least it was taken seriously and he is being punished. There was a time when nothing would have happened to him.
I read on one site that there s/b a site for animal abusers like there is for pedophiles. Sounds good to me. I'd sure want to know if some sicko like this was in my neighborhood. I did find a site where you can find some info. like this in your local area:

I think when you hit the link you are
allowing somebody else access to your computer, although I am not exactly sure. Maybe some kind of spyware? I don't know, but years ago when I had AOL, just by going to one web site I got a Trojan Horse virus and it ruined my computer. I had to start from scratch, re-load all the programs, and it worked, but had constant problems after that. Do you have one of those programs that can detect Spyware on your computer? You might want to do that, I think you can find some for free by doing a search.

The snow started coming down Sunday, it's oh, Wednesday, and we still haven't plowed out our driveway. Two neighbors have actually called to make sure we're okay--isn't that just the sweetest thing?! They can't fathom that no one would need to leave the house. We don't even go out much in good weather but it's really easy to tell when no one leaves the house when there's snow on the ground....especially a foot and a half of it!
Gotta do something about it soon though. I'm sure the mailbox is gettin' all filled up with bills and whatnot, but I'm kinda diggin' it being outta sight and outta mind.

you live here in Upstate NY too, right? I grew up traveling, never stayed in one place more than two years, and when I was 19 I discovered this area. I thought about moving once in a while since then, even moved to NC for 16 months, but had to come home. This is the most pleasant, safest part of the country! No earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and, at least in Saratoga, all the really bad storms just break up and go around us - something about the way the mountains lie, I guess. I'll never leave!

Looks like they're reporting that she had internal bleeding, but the report didn't say what was done to stop it. Did they remove the blades surgically? Did she pass them? (OUCH!) Has the bleeding stopped?

Thanks for asking. CJ had an ultrasound, which confirmed the pneumothorax but they could not find any tear or other reason for it. Because they had serial chest x-rays (yay me) and now the Doppler, they are confident there is NO LUNG CANCER. They were therefore good to perform thoracentesis, and this released 3 liters of air (wow). CJ is now resting much more comfortably. They will check for any re-accumulation of air at 5:00 and release anything they find, and if all goes well, we can pick him up at 5:30. Then we will hope that his body is able to heal. There will be rechecks. We will be tapering off the prednisone but give him doxycycline to prevent infection. Pretty good compared to thinking we were going to have to put him to sleep, eh??
I will attempt to get some money back from that first vet. Turns out the pneumothorax was clear as day on that FIRST chest x-ray, the one they only took because I was so insistant he couldn't breathe.

I can't imagine that kind of diagnosis.
After being severely depressed most of my life and then finding God (please don't move this to the religion board), I have determined in my heart and mind to live life to the fullest each and every day. I play lots of board games with my kids, call my mom, keep scrapbooks and journals, teach 2 classes at our church, and I study the Bible avidly.
I try to show love and kindness to every person in my life. Whenever I'm with others, I try to make it a point to listen twice as much as I talk and show genuine care and concern. I call people I haven't seen much in church to check up on them. I pray for people all the time. I take long, hot showers. When I am off work, I actually don't work! I can go on and on and on. I don't want to think of "if I only had so many days left," because I know that tomorrow may be the day I die. I don't want to waste any of it right now.
I am aspiring to be a speaker and travel the country giving my testimony, writing books, and encouraging women (especially depressed women) that THERE IS AN AWESOME PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE. You just have to find out what it is and live it. Every day.
I saw this in the news also. They say that one
of the things that may have helped save his life is that workers like this are taught what to do and how to brace their body in case of a fall. I can't imagine I would have my wits about me enough to remember what I was taught. This truely is amazing and definitely the work of the Lord.
