My mother tried everything with my brother. Finally, one day, while the brat was in the middle of one of his fits, my father came in and was shocked at what he saw. My father went outside, got a bucket of water and threw it on my brother right there in the floor of the kitchen. Needless to say, my brother NEVER pulled that crap again.

A lady I know tried to pull this
kind of scam years ago. Her neighbor turned her in and she never even knew it. Still doesn't as far as we all know.
Her neighbor (friend of mine) called L&I (industrial accident supposedly) and reported that she was lifting, driving, going to the kids soccer games, driving them back and forth, doing yardwork, even waterskiing. She told the insurance that she did not want to be identified because they lived next door so they sent a private investigator to watch her for a few days. That's all it took.
Oh - but still wore pull-ups at night - until 5!! (nm)

I am so hearing you! Even when I go to Dunkin Donuts, the coffee tastes terrible. I told my husband that I don't think that they are using Dunkin Donuts coffee anymore. I would kill for a decent cup of joe these days. It sucks when I make it at home and it also sucks from Dunkin Donuts. I have started buying Rock Star Juiced energy drinks for the a.m. to get me moving, but I really need a good cup of coffee.

quite honestly. That was just one of my gripes.
If this would actually do anything to make us safer then I suppose I would be all for it regardless of the cost, but it won't.

First of all, my child would not attend a school which forbids dancing, rock music, hand holding, etc. For him to be suspended if he takes his girlfriend to prom at another school is ridiculouos! What he does on his own time is none of the school's business. The school sounds like some kind of cult or something. I say they can go f*c* themselves.

Kids aren't safe anywhere.....Just this weekend in sunny Atlanta we have an grandfather kill his 6yo grandson and wife over a watermelon and a guy with a shotgun go in his backyard and threaten to blow his brains out!!! There are tons more other stories about people getting shot and everything here, it is common.... My husband uses guns to hunt and that is what they should be used for.... THE SHOOTING NEEDS TO STOP!!!! I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE GETTING SHOT or THREATENING TO SHOOT PEOPLE!!!

Here's the spider that almost made me crap myself!
Wow, you know your spiders! It was indeed a garden spider...Argiope. Website does indeed say they are harmless but I don't believe that for a second! Fangs were as huge as my head they were!
I just went out and documented the whole fiasco as best as I could...therapy really. I found the spider and took a picture of "her." Apparently only the ladies get this big. burned the crap out of my belly with mashed potatos
I was just stiring instant potatos and then somehow it jumped on my belly and now I have this 2-3 inch mass of skin that has blisters, some of which have popped, and this one 2 inch round lesion that just looks gross. I probably should have gone to the hospital, but since I have no money I just treated it over the counter with antibiotic ointment. Has anyone done this before? If so what did you use? It is painful!!!! I bought this lidocaine stuff, but it hurts worse. At least it is healing!!! I am a dum dum!!! Those potatos were out to get me darnit!!!

Tonight my brother called, said he loved me and he knew I was struggling to catch up after being laid off and would I accept his gift to help me catch back up. I love my family.  It isn't like he has money to spare really but he got a really nice bonus and wanted to share it with me.

was a wild one when he was 15, hung out with an older crowd and so on. But he straightened out in his early 20s when most guys his age were still barhopping. He ended up getting his GED and now he is a Fire Capt. I think some kids go through those wild years a little earlier than others. I would not be comfortable with him hanging out with a 23-year-old though. Makes you wonder what the older guy's motivation is hanging out with a young teenager. Good luck.

I'm glad your brother seems to be getting his life together. . my ex was always a wonderful father - that is how I knew the drugs had finally taken over - when our daughter needed medical tests done - lost health insurance when he quit his job - and I BEGGED him to do something to get some money so she could have her tests done. . he did nothing. . I filed for divorce right after that. . he would never even admit he was on drugs. . if he had, we could have tried to get help maybe. .

This is a 16-year-old you are talking about??? You seem awfully involved in the drama of highschool life. Don't teach him to be concerned about what some snotty girl is doing. Tell him to decide what he wants to do for his B-day and get over it. When he is 35, he will either remember a birthday spent worrying about someone whose name he can't recall, or that he had a really great birthday with friends that were true friends. His choice! This is hardly the end of the world.

even though the fires are not near him, things can change if those winds do not stop soon. I wish the best for your friend. Yes, everyone's spirits out there seem to be good. They go through so much with these fires and earthquakes. I believe that is what gives them the strength to deal with these disasters when they happen.

and it's not as hard as it sounds like it would be. Cherry is very hard. which is why it is so popular.
I just have WilsonArt (like Pergo), and I got a medium tone. I don't like the color. It is too dull brown. I wish I had gotten something more interesting and dramatic, like light or dark or at least the honey shade I planned on, but I got a good deal on this color, and now I regret the color, but not the product.
Hardwood is better for resale value in many places, and does look better IF you can take care of it. WilsonArt, on the other hand, is indestructable, so it holds up better for rough use.
Another consideration you didn't mention is if you are getting flat boards or the ones with a little edge on them or other texture. I've seen wide planks that had an interesting effect that was very rustic looking. I'm sure any sort of texture would collect dirt, but if you are going to vacuum frequently anyway, the textures/shaped boards look fabulous to me.
Try to see as many pictures and even completed rooms as possible before you decide.

I sincerely hope your son didn't run wants/warrants, DL, car registration, LEADS or anything else on sis's boyfriend. My sister is a deputy sheriff, and if she did anything like that for a personal reason, the sheriff would have her badge in about 2 seconds flat. That is a major no-no and one of the first things they learn if they work in the radio room.
