dreams
I've had that same dream about being back in school and can't remember my locker combination, my class schedule, anything! I'm panicking because I'm late to class...like that ever made me panic when I really was in HS. That's weird, I often wondered if anyone else had dreams like that.
To the OP, I dream about my ex-boyfriend all the time. I don't know what it means, I don't think about him or anything. Just some nights will dream that he's there and it's the first time I've seen him since we broke up (well over 20 years ago), but by the time I get to where he's at, he's gone...wish I did know what it meant.
dreams
Now that is weird! I have the same recurring dream about my locker in high school. It was on the third floor and I did sometimes have trouble going up and down the stairs in 5 minutes to get my stuff. Strange. I have been told that being lost in the airport (which I also dream) is performance anxiety.
I have most of these same dreams, but
even worse for the bathroom dreams. None of the toilets have been flushed and they are too filthy to sit on. For some reason the stall walls only come waist high, so everybody can see you. Oh, and I have a recurrent showering dream where the shower is outside or in the middle of a room, and there are people around, quite offended that I'm naked.
Dreams (sm)
The post below got me thinking about dreams, especially since I have also dreamed about the teeth and forgetting my locker combination from high school!
And so I just found the neatest website that I thought I would share.
http://www.dreammoods.com/
"My Teeth Are Falling"
Dreams that your teeth are falling out are the most common dreams we here at Dream Moods receive. Common dream scenarios include having your teeth crumbling in your hands or your teeth falling out one by one with just a light tap.Such dreams are not only horrifying and shocking, but often leaves the dreamer with a lasting image of the dream. So what does it mean?
One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.
Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.
Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.
In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.
Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.
Other Perspectives
A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.
In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.
According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.
It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.
Locker
To see or use a locker in your dream, signifies aspects of yourself which you have kept hidden inside. Consider what items and belongings are in the locker. In particular, to dream of a school locker, denotes hidden feelings, knowledge, and attitudes that you need to learn and/or acknowledge.
To dream that you cannot open a locker or that your forgot the combination, suggests that you are unsure of where you stand in a particular situation. You feel that you are on shaky ground. If you cannot find your locker, then it also symbolizes your insecurities about your role or position in a situation.
DREAMS
Dreams are a mystery to most of us. I do know that when you dream of riding in the back seat of a car, it means you feel you do not have control of your life. I know I dream I am driving from the back seat and having trouble reaching the pedals.
When I was married, I never dreamed of my husband. I have been divorced for over 20 years (and never wanted to marry again). I dream of my ex now, and they are wonderful dreams of him being all I wanted him to be...everything he wasn't. He loves me more than anything in the world, and me him. He is a wonderful father. I am so happy, and when I wake up, I am crying. I would rather dream of him the way he really was so I can be mad and not sad of what could have been if only....
I do not know why I dream of him this way. Guess I never will. I know dreams are our subconscious. Of what I have no ideal.
Does anyone understand dreams?...
What does it mean if you have had dreams reflecting past events in your life?
For example: Dreaming of old high schools boyfriends, things you had done with your children when they were little, memories of family members who have passed, etc.
For the past few weeks, this is what my dreams have consisted of and I was wondering if it meant anything in particular or not.
I have those exact same dreams...
I was once told that the teeth falling out had something to do with money, don't know exactly what but I certainly have not had a windfall.
These must be common dreams
I have the same ones with my teeth falling out and I'm always dreaming of being in school either forgetting my combination or not been able to find my classroom.
Anyone believe dreams have meaning?
I normally brush off bad dreams but this one was strange. My 8 year old daughter dreamed that I had a big snake behind me, she told me to run but I didn't believe her. The snake came up and started choking me and as I was choking I told her that I could taste apple.
Have you ever thought that your child had a dream with a message for you? I have an idea of what it might be about but I am wondering if I am making too much of it.
I believe that dreams have meaning...
I have had several dreams like that..I had a dream my best friend was pregnant again before she found out she was, and I had a dream later in the pregnancy that it was a boy and it was...always have strange dreams like that...I don't dream like this every night though...
You have just very vivid dreams and
are in an in-between-stage, not anymore fully awake, but not totally asleep yet, so you do not know if it is really happening or not.
If you are outside of the REM sleep stage (fully asleep), then one remembers one's dreams, only in the REM-stage one doesn't.
So, if somebody says that he/she never remembers his dreams, then his dreams are all in the REM-stage. Because everybody has dreams, always, because the brain does not come to a stop when we sleep, it works 24/7.
Sometimes my husband is half asleep and all of a sudden he asks me. 'Did the doorbell ring?' 'No,' I say, 'I didn't hear anything!'
I think more people than we think experience this.
Once the same happened to me:
I had a dream that somebody was running after me and I could not move. Then I woke up and realized it was a dream. What a relief!
Also not being able to scream happens a lot in one'e sleep.
These are just nightmares.
Forget about it.
If were you, I would stop the Xanax, though, this might contribute to this.
Also sleeping pills!
Try Chantix
I was a heavy smoker from the time I was about 13 to age 27. I had my baby and quit because I had an extended hospital stay with my delivery and so on, so it was not too hard because I was inconscious for about 4 days after delivery, so I think that the nicotine got out of my system. Like an nitwit, last year I want on vacation and had a cigarette, well 1 turned into a half a pack a day. I went on Chantix (after battling the insurance company for authorization), did it as directed, and now I have not had a cigarette in 3 weeks with really very little craving or angst. On this med, cigarettes do not satisfy you. I would recommend this to anyone. I had a little nausea and could not take my vitamin with it in the morning, but it has all been well worth it to be a nonsmoker. Give it a try if you want to quit, and you should want to quit. You will feel so proud and great. Seeing it from both sides of the fence, I also noticed that people really look down on smoking. GOOD LUCK!!!!
chantix
They better call the doc.
Chantix
Anyone have encouraging stories to tell? I'm on day #8 and was doing good up until this point. I think I'll make it through though.
Chantix
I personally know 3 people who have had great success with Chantix and two of them didn't even really want to quit THAT bad, but made the decision for financial reasons. I have decided the next time I am at the doc's office for whatever reason, I'm asking for some
Chantix ?
x
Chantix?
Woo hooo! Congratulations. Hubby quit Oct will be 5 years now. Quit once for 6 mos with nicorette but started back. 6 mos later came home with gum again, said he was tired of coughing and hacking all day. Put them down and never picked up another. Old elderly doc friend of mine said one time, if they told you to chew on a chrome bumper, you will not quit until you WANT to quit. So, seriously wanting to quit is a darn good start.
One good (or bad) thought. All those things you have listed, job, kid, bills, court, etc., etc...You had them when you smoked too and it did not help, so battle them without cigs. The nicorette does work though.
Chantix is the way to go! sm
I've tried every quit-smoking fix each time one would come out. When my doctor recommended Chantix because it works on the brain, I though sure it does. But I started it and couldn't be happier or more proud of myself (after all the failures). I'll tell anyone who will listen that the Chantix is worth the $120 or so each month. I'm starting my last round and hopefully that will be that. The best part about Chantix is that there is no hungering for a cigarette (a fleeting thought, maybe, but not stressing over it). There is no urge to chew and gnaw on something. You're every thought does not revolve around "I have to have a cigarette." If you want a guaranteed easy way to quit smoking with the least stress and best results, go with the Chantix. Since you won't be buying cigarettes, you can afford the $120.00 a month. I can't praise this drug enough.
Chantix
Well, it works immediately on your quit day. You take it (and continue to smoke) for the first week of Chantix, then the 8th day is your quit day, and I'm telling you, you don't care. It's strange but true.
I think 3 months is the norm for taking it but if you tell your doctor that you think you may need to take it longer (which I did), they'll let you take it another month or two with a tapering off.
I'm taking it longer because I know in the past I have had no willpower to deny myself a smoke using other methods, plus the fact of how many years (30) I've smoked. I'm just trying to make sure my brain is over the nicotine fix.
The hardest thing to break is behavioral. Every smoker smokes during, before or after certain activities and you have 1 lit without even knowing it. After a meal, before you go into the store shopping for a couple of hours, during stressful periods, talking on the phone and so on. I also thought I couldn't sit and pay bills without a couple of cigarettes. I think all of us smokers have virtually the same triggers more or less.
Every once in a while (it's been nearly 3 months for me now) my brain still thinks it's going to have a cigarette. When I take my dinner dishes to the kitchen, my brain says "Now I get to smoke." But just as quickly, you realize, "No, I don't" and the thought simply goes away. I'm just trying to make sure this is my ONE successful try to quit smoking. It's never too late.
I know you all are going to think I work for the drug company that makes Chantix. It's just that I want any smoker to know that if it works for a no-willpower weakling like me, it'll work for you.
Have any of you tried Chantix
I picked up a prescription yesterday and wondering if anyone has used this and if they are willing to share how it worked for them.
I am currently on Chantix. (sm)
I have been cigarette-free since August 2, 2007, and feeling great. Not too many side effects to speak of. Vivid dreams but not scary dreams. It completely takes away the PHYSICAL cravings you get but you still have to work on the BEHAVIORAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL parts of smoking. It is early in my quit so I am still struggling with those, but every day is better and better. I can't believe how well Chantix worked at kicking the physical cravings! Good luck!
Chantix.
Chantix is definitely worth it. If it gives you nightmares, you are supposed to take the second dose earlier. If you are still getting nightmares, then they suggest that you try just taking the first dose only (I have a friend who used it with great success - quit after 40 years of 2 packs per day).
If you don't like the cost, I know of a lot of insurance companies that will pay for it because of how much it saves them in the long run. I think there might even be a program on the internet (quit plan??) that helps cover the cost as well. If you smoke even a pack a day, Chantix costs the same in a month.
It works by blocking your nicotine receptors, thus everytime you light up, you don't feel anything, so a cigarettes becomes worthless. If you are on Chantix though, expect to be on it for at least 6 months. People, who quit after just 3 months tend to have a higher % of starting back up.
If you are really serious about wanting to quit, why not give it a shot. You can always stop taking the medicine if you can't stand it (shelf life is only 24 hours).
Good luck and if you are serious about quitting, you will.
How cute! She is definitely living her dreams
in that picture, Ha!
all good dreams so far...hopefully they stay that way :)....nm

No bad dreams from TZ, but Kathy Griffith...sm
was with Anderson... better chance of a nightmare there than from Twilight Zone!! I like her, but she is scary smoetimes :-)
Yes, I believe dreams have some type of meaning sm
especially when you remember them.
You know the snake is a sign of the evil one! Is there someone in your life who is acting evil? That one would scare me and I would probably pray a lot more, even though I am not the "religious type".
how many rounds did it take you for Chantix? nm
;
The doc I work for has given Chantix
to many patients all with success. One man stopped taking it a little sooner than maybe he should have cause went back to smoking, started Chantix again and has been smoke free now for 3 months. Just typed his chart yesterday.
Also quit with Chantix
I smoked over a pack a day for about 20 years. October 2007, I starting taking it. I took the first 3 weeks out of the 1 month pack and went in for a hysterectomy and stopped taking Chantix after that, but never started back up again.
My husband, smoked 2 packs a day for at least 20 years, also took Chantix for 1 month and has stopped smoking. He quit last January (14 months ago).
I did get VERY depressed on this medication and often had thoughts of suicide. This went away after 3 months of not being on the medication but it was a horrible experience. I think they now prescribe an antidepressant to take along with the Chantix.
All I know is I could not have done it without them. I love not being a smoker and cannot stand the smell of it anymore.
GOOD LUCK!
I find TV people in my dreams and am tired of it. OC

My deceased husband visits in dreams and
I am remarried, to one of his best friends.
Mine hit 50% for me. So long, retirement dreams!
I am a smoker (until my Chantix kicks in) already sm
lost 14.5 pounds and 14 inches, going for a goal of 25 pounds, that way when I quit, and if I can the average 12.5 pounds, it won't matter. I will still be down in weight and a NONSMOKER. However, I do not smoke in my house, other people's houses or cars. That is just RUDE. I at least have some decency with my smoking
The miracle of Chantix. Please read
For all of you who think you simlpy can't stop smoking you need t hear this.
A member of my family has literally tried for the last 22 years to stop smoking. Used everything from the cold turkey method to nicotine gum/patches etc. He would go as long as a few weeks or even a month and then right back to smoking.
I got wonderful news last Saturday over coffee with my niece. Her husband whom this family dearly loves and respects has finally won the battle with Chantix. My niece has asked him a few times to try it, and a few weeks before Christmas he did. He is completely smoke free. She asked him if he minds it and his reply was that smoking no longer even enters his mind. He said that with all other attempts even when not smoking he always wanted to and could not get it off his mind.
He is now concentrating on his health in general and has lost 12 pounds since Christmas! You go Ray! He has tried so hard and has come out victorious.
Don't give up.
P.S. He tried Wellburtin in the past, but eventually went back to smoking due to side effects on the medication.
Chantix and weight gain
Does Chantix help with the weight you gain from quitting smoking, or do you gain anyway?
I am a happy girl today- Dreams can come true.
A group of ladies has gone into rescuing animals. I have done the financial backing with my joy being able to get animals out of animal control places where they otherwise would be put down. I told the ladies I work with if they want to charge for the animals, have at it but my payment is the little lives saved. We have gone into this the right way, lady got incorporated, got license from the state and even in my state have to have agricutural license. This past Saturday we had our first animal fair at a feed store that was having a flea market for the day. We were successful in rehoming 6 dogs and 2 kitties. I am thrilled beyond belief. That means the more we rehome, the more I can make the trips to the so called shelters and pick them up.
My husband and I have had great success with Chantix
Would highly recommend to anyone who really wants to quit - always remember there is no magic pill but with Chantix, this is the best so far they have come out with - we have been smoke free since October and we both smoked heavily for over 30 years.
get him a prescription for Chantix. It will give him a 44% better chance of quitting. nm
.
I have to agree......I quit with Chantix also. It really does work wonders.....nm
x
I have to agree. Just started Chantix 2 weeks ago and is working great!!! nm

Those that I know on Chantix, didn't gain the ൜ pounds", but still gained.
It seemed like most of them only gained like 10 pounds or so in the first 3 months on it. They say when quitting smoking to expect to gain 20. I don't care how much I gain. I lost over 50 pounds a couple years ago, so I know I can lose it again if I need to. Better to be 20 pounds over weight than smoking.
Both! JK, actually considering giving up
coffee and wondering if Morning Thunder has caffeine or not. I love my coffee, though. Don't know if I can do it.
Giving
Two years working as a missionary overseas has taught me that material things are really not important. Do not hold onto things with such a tight fist. I guess after see children begging in the street for food daily kind of changes your perspective. Oh and then the women who washed her clothes on a rock made me vow to never complain about washing clothes in a machine.
Forgive your husband. His giving nature is more important that a rolling pin. A fire, like those in Califronia, or other natural disaster can cause you to lose all of these things. Things really do not matter anyway do they?
Have a nice Thanksgiving, and be thankful you can afford food to use a rolling a pin on. So many people in the world cannot.
giving up the
The older I got the more I got these symptoms from too many dairy products. Once I cut back the bloating went away. I think the sitting just makes it more noticeable because you cannot get away from the smell! (hope that is not too graphic:)
holiday giving
What you are doing is a wonderful thing and I understand your hurt feelings. Perhaps next year you could channel your energy into giving where it would DEFINITELY be appreciated. Regardless of whether or not you support the war in Iraq, there are many of our troops there who would love to receive a card or care package for the holidays. There are plenty of needy children here in our country who could use a card or gift for the holidays. Why not give where it is wanted and needed? Your church can give you the name of a needy family for you to help at the holidays. You have many options to chose from. Pick something that will make it feel good on both the recipient and the givers side??
Have you tried giving some fluids?
I have a shih tzu with diabetes. When is sick he will get close or under my knees. Listen to him he's trying to say I'm sick. Try feeding him some rice with a little chicken in it, something bland or even canned pumpkin, not the pie filling. Good source of fiber in both diarrhea and constipation for dogs and humans. When mine was sick the other day I got a syringe and would give him grape flavored ProPel water by gatorade, about 1 oz at a time every hour or so and then sooner as long as he kept it down. Just enough to keep from getting to dehydrated. Dogs can go down really fast when dehydrated yet some vets say they can go awhile without food/water. Not if already dehydrated though. I would recommend going on petpeoplesplace.com forum you can get some good advice with people with same breed or problems. They also make something called Rescue Remedy for anxious/nervous dogs you might check into.
I am glad everyone is giving their sm
opinion. I value that. I told in the past to work with us. If it is a specific thing, like a late movie, concert etc we can be very flexible, but to just hang out at someone's house or ride around town it is not necessry to be out past 1 a.m. Her 21 year-old sister agrees with me which is surprising. Her friends don't have curfews, but they also did not get into college either. I told her she can bring anyone home. She told me these are not the kind of people you bring home. Last night I caved in and told her 2 a.m. She did come at that time but I kept waking up untl then. I got up at 7 a.m and it is now 9 a.m and she is still sleeping. I have to admit at19 I did not have a curfew but I was always home by 1 am because I know my parents expected us to be respectful. THANKS AGAIN.
I never knew they had that! Thanks for giving
me JUST ONE MORE snack to try!!! LOL.
What about just giving from the heart?
Why put such a price tag on something so trivial? Jesus is the reason for the season!
Received none, but instead of giving one (sm)
which I planned on doing, after seeing something on the news about them, I just decided to give cold, hard cash (no complaints, btw). Anyhow, the news story said that stores profit greatly from them since people lose or forget about them, or buy more than the value of the gift card. So, I decided to just buy 50 one-dollar bills for my son's GF for a better effect LOL.
And that is precisely why they are giving it to
They are trying to stimulate the economy. They WANT people to spend it. They don't want you to put in in the bank. That's why they are not giving it to people who have money.
Re handing out money to people who don't file... that is incorrect. They do file. They just fall below the income amount to pay taxes.
I would prefer to be in a tax bracket that gives me less of this handout than one that gives me more.
