Craig Ferguson, Late Late Show
Such a great interviewer and SO handsome!
What would you do if your doc was always late with an appt and you were late arriving?
Took my daughter to our family doc today - we were late a half hour but this doc is always at least an hour behind in seeing patients. I have been going to this doc for 15 years and love him. The last time I saw him I waited over two hours. The receptionist reminded me we were late (geez, as if I didn't know that already). I apologized and gave her the reason why. She then said "they would try to fit us in." After waiting for an hour, I asked when did she think we would be seen. Another 15 minutes went by and we were called by the nurse. After waiting in the exam room for over a half hour, I took my daughter's chart with a check for our co-pay, brought both to the checkout desk, and then left. I realize emergencies do come up but I feel my time is money as I work as an IC and with sitting and waiting for the doc to show up I'm losing money. I'm already thinking of changing docs but this one is exceptional. Maybe I just need to vent. Any opinions or similar experience?
School's right, late is late. However...
*if* these things were legitimately said, about your son and your "bad parenting" particularly, I doubt you would be here posting. You would be contacting the highest school official you could right now. It sounds like you are rallying support over feeling chastised and exaggerating, frankly.
As for the book report, if your son needs to do it instead of the play, he also needs to be able to approach the teacher. I find it unlikely a 2nd-grade teacher would assign a book report, then not explain it in any way. Most 2nd-graders are doing fill-in-the-blank book reports on forms the teacher provides. Is it likely your son should already know this?
About being late, it doesn't matter if your tire was flat or you drove in a fog or it takes you 40 minutes. Children are to be at school on time.
Stop making excuses. Get the children to school on time. If someone lost their cool at the school and said these things, you have legitimate grounds for taking the next step. You are wasting time and energy whining here.
If you are not happy with the school, take your children's education into your own hands and educate them yourself, via homeschooling. Then your children don't have to be in lock-step with all the other little soldiers the schools are raising in their institutional setting.
got here a little late - but I can tell you why
she is doing it - it will only happen around mating season - she sees the reflection of herself in the door, grill, whatever - I have even known of hubcaps - and thinks it is a rival. It looks painful - but she will do it in anything she can see herself in.
Try this if not too late
Same kind of thing happened to me recently. Do you have access to an ATM? I went at 11:00 at night and deposited just enough (6 bux). It stopped a check from bouncing the next day. Maybe I just got lucky but couldn't hurt to try!
Never too late - sm
I am going back to school and I'm 39. I will be starting my first classes for winter quarter. Should have done it years ago but.... doing it now anyway.
I'm nervous and excited.
I say GO For It!
Take her to your PCP now before it's too late
Then have her committed to a drug rehab. This is going to be a long road but unless she gets away from the friends who do the drugs, she'll never get off of them. She needs help sounds like "yesterday" and I wouldn't hesitate to have my son or daughter tested and committed. Sorry you are experiencing this.
At least a "f-u" is something and she's not totally blocking you out, but she'll need your support.
I think Im late on this, but...
Why no culture and sensitivity? Thats just crazy. That should have come first and you would probably be better by now. Go and get it and get started on an appropriate antibiotic. I hope you feel better soon.
It only takes once.. and it's too late
Children have been severely injured and decapitated by passenger side airbags even at low-speed accidents. Google airbag, child, decapitation. I wouldn't chance it even once.
Sorry to get back to you so late, but
Noah was lying under a bunch of bricks, etc from the collapse. He was not awake.
I would hate to see him go. He is a cute kid. I like him. Yes, only soap world but feels like real life sometimes.
after first late check.
x
1st late check
Yes, but Dummy me signed a one year contract I could not get out of. Trust me, I was working THREE jobs to try to pay my bills.
Think it is a little late in the game
because at 22 she should already pretty much know how to manage. My daughter not only paid did all the bookkeeping for our family but had her own job, own car, own this and that, very self sufficient at that age. This is something you start prior to her age of 22.
Sorry, late when I posted
but I am talking about plants to grow inside that have some fragrance, nothing that takes a lot of babying because not much of a green thumb here. I have loads of green plants but just would like to have some really nice-smelling ones. At my previous home I had gardenia bush right outside my door and so sweet during the summer. Any ideas?
Well, it's never too late to fulfill
those fantasies. What are ya waiting for? lol
Two dogs and my late cat sm
My late cat's name was Mochi, which is a Japanese sticky, usually sweet, white rice. She looked like that when she was born, she was born in a Buddist temple alter, and was born after the New Year. My two dogs are Pili Pa'a which in Hawaiian sort of means stuck to you like a buddy and Hoku Kea which means white star (she is white and her name at the pound was Star).
Sorry to jump in late, but something else to try...
Massage therapy! I go every week, but during my PMS days (and I get it BAD!!) I make sure I tell my therapist (been going to her for over 4 years now and she really knows me) I am having PMS. She does some extra focus on my head and neck area for that session and I promise you it helps relax me more and does take some of it away. One time I went to her with severe cramps in tears and shaking with pain and they went away completely before I got off her table. She also tells me to focus on my breathing when I find myself getting bent out of shape. Easier said than done, I know. Best of luck to you. :-)
PS - I'm in my late 50s. (But feel 25).
;)
Diagnosed with this since the late 80s,
in fact I went in and told the doctor what to check for, had the classic symptoms, intense itching (waking me at night with urge to scratch), terrible coldness all the time, having to sit under blankets. Mine now has turned into Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I was told just a few months ago, thyroid totally gone. Now with the Synthroid, I told my physician did not want to take any more, loss of hair really bad, heard Synthroid noted for that. I asked and now on Armour thyroid and seems like loss is not as bad but still some. People on here have posted against Synthroid.
Sorry to chime in late, but YES! :-)
I have shipped cats from overseas when I moved, driven in the car 16 hours nonstop to get them to their new home, paid $1200 in a nonrefundable pet deposit, let my husband go to Guam for 15 months alone when he was in the military because I refused to put them in quarantine for 4 months, and spent probably 15K on a cat with chronic medical problems over a period of 4 years to name a few things, so I most definitely can relate with you.
As of late, "is in" always comes out..sm
"i sin" and the MS Word will change it to "I sin" - like I don't have to be reminded!
I can stay up as late as I want to - I go to bed between around 1:30 a.m.
I hated going to be early when I was little. Now 40 years later I'm rebelling.
I think we have all waited too late
to take our money out of the market. We probably should have made the move a year ago. I don't know what to tell you to do. I guess it would depend on the amount of interest you would have to pay on the loan. I think it will be several years before the market recovers.
It's a little late but I would make
a ham, take it over and say that you got it for free for spending so much which most grocery stores do now. I would play stupid and say I wasn't sure if I could freeze it or not and didn't want it laying around. Takes both of you off the hook.
You came in late on this thread so I
do not expect you to understand what was said. The person said they had no work at her full time job but sitting waiting on it? Then there was a part time job and finally full time school. Well, duh, why starve to "wait on work to show up" or stay full time in school when you can put together 2, 3 or 4 jobs and then there is full time pay.
coming in late on this topic
I'm the grandma who has custody of grandchild. My custody papers allow 2 visits a months with the parents and more "as agreed to by both parties," but all are supervised and no overnight visits. I will not allow either parent into my home, so we were meeting at a fast food place with an indoor playground.
Because of suspected (and now admitted) drug use, I suspended visits until a clean drug test could be produced. In a few weeks, it will be a year. I talked to my lawyer about this before I suspended visits. I could not withhold visits due to failure to pay CS. I could be held in contempt of court and go to jail. However, since no judge is going to say it's okay for a parent on drugs to visit with the child, that is a different matter. In only 6 months, the parents are behind by $6k...I'll never see any of it.
My attorney told me the only way to withhold visits is if there is a situation that would place the child at risk - child abuse, parental drug abuse, sexual abuse, etc., otherwise you have to follow the court order or go back to court and ask the judge to revise the order with documentation of the reason for the request.
The noncustodial party can always go to court and ask for a revision of vistation as well to get more liberal visits.
Oh, I have a dirty mind or its late or

same in my family. gray comes in late
My mom is in her 70's and only has gray streaks in the front. My paternal grandmother was 88 when she passed away, and she still had mostly black hair. I've always said the same thing about dying gray hair! I'm going to wait until it's mostly gray and then try out some funky colors!
I hate to say this, but you must be older. I am in my late 30s. We have 3 sm
kids together. They love him. Living away from their dad right now would tear all 3 boys apart. I am not staying because of "the kids." I am staying because I have hope of seeing change. I already "threw one man away" in my mid 20s because he "didn't make me happy." I'm starting to think it was the biggest mistake of my life. Heard he was a doll and completely romantic which my husband is not.
Anyway, I do think to my future - when the kids are 18 and older - then maybe, just maybe, I will be able to say,"okay, I've tried. You are a jerk, never changed, never will, I'm outta here." But I can't do that right now.
Right now I work PT. He works FT+. He keeps a roof over our head and we live a very comfortable lifestyle. I've already listed all the pros and cons and right now staying just makes more sense for everyone involved.
Besides, I'm no quitter. Yeah, he has issues. Yeah, I know there is a man out there who can make me completely happy. But then again if you were to ask my husband, he'd probably say I ain't no saint either! (forgive the grammar please).
I'll talk to you in 25 years and let you know where I am....
Late summer flowers
Maine is probably in the same zone as Siberia, so these may not work for you in Indiana.
My garden is now finally in full bloom, though we have not had the heat like the rest of the country and every day starts with fog. It is a very pleasant 75 degrees here right now and sunny.
Perennials currently blooming: Tall phlox, Rose of Sharon, butterfly bush, day lilies, yellow roses. Asters are loaded with buds. I put my indoor plants out for the summer and my Christmas cactus is huge and in full bloom!
Annuals: Geraniums, pansies (they came back full force after 'resting' in late June/July), inpatients, cosmos, trailing licorice, sunflowers, petunias, Helio double-pinks, phlox.
Sleeping too late in the morning.

update - sorry its late, had to work. sm
She's back in school and it will NOT go on her permanent record.
The super pulled the policies and confirmed that PEPPER SPRAY IS NOT LISTED as a weapon and may carry it with her as she has. That doesn't mean that the policies wont change but, until they do, she is okay to carry it.
This isn't about defiance as two harpies, I mean posters, would seem to suggest below. It's not about trying to get away with something. It's not about special treatment for "1" either. It's simply about SAFTEY.
If they don't have it listed on their list of "NOs," that's their problem. No doubt now, it will probably be amended in the future but that's beside the point.
Those two of you who have a bad case of nasties might also be interested to have pointed out to YOU that the teacher who confiscated the pepper spray in the first place physically assaulted my daughter by legal definition by putting her hands on her without her consent.
I didn't say a thing about that because my daughter wasn't hurt and didn't think it was a big deal but as YOU stated "I am sure knows about the rules of her school," the same goes for the teachers who are not to lay their hands on students. One of you commented "You cannot have 1 rule for 1 and 1 for the others." Same goes for teachers. DONT TOUCH! My daughter did not threaten her in any way and should not have been forcibly escorted to the office by her arm.
By the way, a family friend who is also a police officer (who I'm sure is familiar with the law) suggested the pepper spray for her protection.
Whoever asked where we got the bear keychain, we bought it at the local Home Show last year at one of the booths. I haven't seen anything like it since but if I run across it again this year, will pick up some more and let you know.
I think it was late, and she was tired and worrying (sm)
Things always seem worse in the middle of the night to me!
Love doing that when I am running late and
need to fix something quick.
she got VISA to attend way too late to come.SM
and Brad was great too.....different types of singers/performers....
don't be sore about it....*lol*
This may be a little late but I hope you read.
I couldn't even finish reading half of the posts below. The one titled "I am just amazed by the ignorance of some people" was pretty rude and ignorant in itself. Sounded like it came from some child having a tantrum. Some people just do not have any sympathy for others (they must be missing the empathy chromosome in their gene pool), or maybe they were wronged by their parents…who knows. It is so easy for other to write nasty comments when they don’t know the entire story or life history between you and your family.
Nobody knows what anyone goes through with their family members. Not everyone has a loving “Walton” relationship with siblings, parents, etc. There are families out there struggling with relationships, sons and daughters treating parents like absolute garbage thinking they are owed something. I have a bil in his 40s and he thinks that his whole family owe him, but he never gives in return. So for anyone to tell anyone that parents owe their kids anything just because they are their kids? Well I’d have a few things to say to that.
Here’s my thoughts. If you are the happiest you have been in a long time, you have a husband that understands you better than anyone else, you are financially secure, etc. That’s all that matters. Sounds like your kids are grown enough to understand, and if they aren’t TOUGH! Please don’t let them make you feel guilty for anything.
I read a book by someone years ago and he said family is the worst for trying to pull you down. If they see you are happy and financially secure, etc and they are not, they will cut you down. So the saying goes “Misery loves company”.
I didn’t see anything in your post saying you were going to disconnect your phone, the way I read it was you were asking if you should let everything go through to the answering machine or disconnect. I would do the first. Let the answering machine pick up everything. If that doesn’t work then yes, I would disconnect the phone or get a new number. Then you will be in control of your life. Don’t let others rule your life and don’t let anyone get you down.
I love my family dearly but some of them I will put through to the answering machine and call them back. You could always write them a letter too explaining your feelings.
I say write a letter to your kids, put the calls on answering machine and take care of yourself and the ones who love you! Your too good of a person to let anyone get you down. You are entirely correct – you do not have to answer to others! Live your life on your terms, not theirs. – P.S. – don’t let the know-it-alls on the board get you down.
I am old enough to be a grandma, but had my son very late in life.
I am tired all the time, but glad to have him. I just can't get off the floor when I play with him there. Anyway, paper dolls! And imagination! And club houses we made with chairs and sheets, or boxes. But we had to put everything away when we were finished playing, and only play with 1 thing out at a time. Today I was just thinking, by the time I finish picking up the house, the kids are back home again and the house is trashed. Ugggg. My parents never nagged at me. They did not have to. I knew 4 o'clock meant vacuuming and that I'd have to wash the pots and pans if I were naughty instead of my mom doing them. And there were no automatic dish washers, or even phone answering machines! So much to remember. If my mom were alive today, she would not even imagine the things we have and how computers have changed the world!
First hubby. Working late but not
showing up in his paycheck. Jewelry started to come up missing. Had an idea that was confirmed when HER husband called ME and told me. Finally caught them at her place (she had left her hubby), told hubby's mother and together we cleared all his stuff from our house, went to her mother's house where they were visiting. Hubby's mother talked to him and then came out in a huff and together we threw all his clothing and stuff onto the lawn and left.
She was a great MIL and we stayed close until she died. BTW, both hubby and the other woman stayed together 7 years and both cheated on each other.
And now there's a #4, her late husband's frozen sperm!
x
I call ahead and ask if he's running late.
They'll usually tell you. Then I get some other errands done. They have said that if he gets caught up in the meantime you will have to wait.
Funny, but I find the earlier I arrive for my appointment, the earlier I get in. They must take arrived patients in if the scheduled appointment is late.
She's 64, so close to his age. She is a widow whose late husband... SM
left her well taken care of, but she pinches pennies like she's poor. My dad is footing the entire bill for this thing. I guess she add, that she strung my dad along for like four years. She couldn't decide if she wanted to marry him because he was divorced and she didn't think God would want her to marry a divorced man seeing how "God hates divorce." Yet, there was nothing wrong with dating a divorced man, letting him pay for cruises, dinners, doing maintenance on her house and car, mowing her lawn, etc.
Then after four years when he was getting ready to retire and move south, she up and decides she will marry him and now this obnoxious wedding! I'll be honest, I kind of hoped she would keep saying no and dad would just retire and that would be the end of it. Now, I'm faced with the reality that she is going to be, *gulp*, part of my family and it's killing me.
Ah well, thanks for listening to me. I just needed to tell somebody how I felt cause I keep all to myself most of the time.
Shadow (late black lab) and Whiskers (cat)...sm
So original aren't I? There are some great names out there.
I like it and I'm old. Reminds me of late 60's girl group

Cat early riser/ late sleeper

Live alone, don't eat lunch. Usually don't eat until late afternoon.

Absolutely, but I'm glad I started late (32 and 36).
They are my biggest source of joy and turned out pretty darn good, if I say so myself. They are now 15 (I might be a little premature on this one) and 18 and getting ready to go to college on scholarship.
Really? LATE 50s? That is awesome! I am 40 - husband tells me I'm too old to be skating! (sm)
says if I get hurt my bones won't heal up quickly LOL! But I have rollerblades and I love it. I just have to start making time. Thanks for the reminder!
This may be a little late but hope you read the post and it helps
There are many sites you can go to. The one I frequent the most is a genealogy forum. Below are some sites I go to often...
http://genforum.genealogy.com/
http://www.cyndislist.com/
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp
http://www.familytreesearcher.com/
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/
http://www.cousinconnect.com/
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/
Then if I'm stumped sometimes I'll type in last name and the town and/or country they were born in and a whole bunch of info can be found.
I hope the above links have helped. I haven't been to this site in awhile so forgot to check back on my original message. I did find out that one of my husbands great, great (don't know how many greats) married Robert the Bruce, and I found that my grandmother's uncle was the mayor of Preston England. I've found a website that has pics of him. Also is interesting to find out what type of people our in our history. One of my husband's great uncles dressed as a woman to leave ireland (don't know why), and one of his great great uncles was an outlaw from the wild wild west days. It's great fun.
I posted back in late August about cc debt - sm
in response to someone else giving advice on what to do. I told you about how I had a ton of debt my DH knew nothing about, how I was afraid of him, etc. and that I just did not know how to tell him. I consulted a lawyer and got some insight and advise in case things went really bad when I did tell him. Well I finally bit the bullet and told him on Monday. He was off from work, kids were in school, I wrote a 4 page letter laying it all out. I went out in the LR and I asked him if he loved me and was happy in our marriage, I got yes's to both questions. Then I handed him the note (bawling at this point) and said I was going out for a little while and we would talk when I came back. He called me 10 minutes later, upset yes, but not nuts as I expected. We ended up talking for 2 hours. He was quite good about it which really surprised me, he was in shock though. Later last night after he got drunk not horribly so but enough, though he did not turn nasty. I had asked him not to drink but he ignored that, so as a result he broke down said a few things which I probably deserved, though he does not believe I was scared of him....denied ever threatening to kill me, said if he did he was kidding and it was his sick sense of humor. I told him I take all death threats seriously. But comes down to he does not want to divorce over it, for which I am happy and grateful, and I think this will ultimately help us. We are taking a 401K loan for the debt on his cards, and I will go to a credit consolidator for the debt on my cards......any recommendations on that front? My credit is in the dump so this is not going to make it much worse. In five years we will be free and clear, paid off debt and house at that point. I have a huge breach of trust to heal and don't know how to go about it, that is what is hurting him the most and the fact I waited so long to tell him, couldn't understand why I felt I could not come to him when it all started. So he learned what a conniving wife he has and I learned that I had what I wanted all along, just didn't know it. We still have a lot to work out, and I am in for 5 or more years of snide backbiting remarks at times I am sure, but I think there is hope for us actually.
Getting there early and staying late, time spent on phoning

I miss fizzies. They came back out in the late 90s, but left quickly. sm
They can't compete with soda, but when I was a kid soda was a rare thing, so fizzies were wonderful.
