Anal glands
Sometimes on he older dogs, and dasch's and poodles especially, the anal glands need to be expressed and cleaned, the smell could be that they are dripping out that awful smell. Also check ears as with droopy ears they do not get the air in there and sometimes get awful ear infections that smell very bad also. Used to work for a vet. If he/she licks a lot at their hind end or scoots on the floor, could be a sign of anal glands. Also if they shake their head a lot, could be an ear infection. Either one is quite smelly. Take them to either a vet to be expressed or pay for a bath by a bather and ask if they express anal glands. They will also check their ears out. Good luck. Patti
I never expressed an opinion about Stearn (sm)
and I have been watching the trial. I think Stearn is a sponge, as is Anna's mother. Birkhead is the only one who seems sincere. Just the fact that he filed for paternity BEFORE even the glimpse of Anna's death says a lot. He's not in this for the money, never was. But I think her mother most certainly is. She did everything but tap dance around the questions regarding any financial gain she or other members of her family have made since the death of Daniel and Anna. She continually had to "process the question" or "take a minute". When you're telling the truth, you don't have to stop and think about it, but when you're lying you have to think up something fast, and that takes "a minute". Even when asked when she first came in contact with Birkhead, she seemed to stumble like she was trying to hide something, although she repeatedly brought on tears to stall. Record the hearing, then go back and count the number of times she has contradicted herself. It's very suspicious in my opinion.
At any rate, all I was saying was how I thought Anna should be buried next to her son, wherever that may be. The thought never occurred to me that someone would want to exhume Daniel to return him to the states, not until today anyhow. That in itself is a sad thought, but sobeit if it means a mother can lie for eternity next to her son. In the end, I think Daniel was the only one that truly loved the woman unconditionally.
They do have scent glands in their pads,
I've read. You may have seen dogs rake the ground with their feet. In their case they use their back ones a lot for it, and they can really kick up some dirt and grass when they do it. It is considered dominant behavior in dogs.
