regarding children and food. The way you describe is how most parents used to be, I think. I'm not saying which is right or wrong. I believe in providing a variety of healthy food and keeping the junk out of the house for the most part (and parents providing a good example by eating the good stuff themselves), but not having to eat everything on the plate or insisting they eat something they hate. Kids will eat when they are hungry.. My son likes whole wheat bread because we never had any other kind

Doctors with attitudes and other issues
Just got back from the neurologist's office. This is a doctor I have seen now approximately 3 times. I try my best to furnish any and all reports I think necessary for a physician either prior to seeing them for a particular issue or when I see them such as recent MRIs, lab tests, office notes and the like from another physician's office that I think might be pertinent to why I am seeing the present doctor.
Have foot issues (along with a couple other things) but 2 weeks ago I called 2 different podiatrists offices where I have recently been asking that they fax (given number) office notes to the neurologist. Both offices I had visited for the same exact foot issues, no diagnosis and no help. The neurologist did not have the information requested from the 2 other offices this morning, 2 weeks later. When I told him had lots to talk about he said well start. I did and then he told me I was supposed to have told all that information to the person who took my blood pressure, checked my reflexes and so on. Well, not a mind reader here and I told him had the other offices done as requested, then maybe he would have some information before him to go by.
Why, why are people not doing their jobs? It has nothing to do with the economy (this was happening at least 5 years ago when the economy better) but people are so slack now days it just ticks me off. Blowing smoke out ears as I write this.
Parental Law
Not speaking specifically to you, but I've noticed that adherence to the law seems to depend on whether you agree with it or not. I guess I tend to be more of a 'safe' law breaker. When I drive in non-residential areas, I routinely set the cruise control for 5 miles/hour over the limit. I don't smoke pot, but know recreational users and think it should be legal, and therefore don't call 9-1-1 when they start passing the pipe. I'm a little skeptical about anyone who files a Schedule C with their 1040 and says they're not fudging anything even just a little.
Just curious...how many of the "NO WAY!" people on here agreed that the mother that kidnapped her son to avoid chemo treatment did the right thing?
I would prefer my kids don't ever drink, smoke pot, have sex, drive over 35 or any of the other myriad of things both legal and illegal that could cause harm or heartbreak. But I also remember what it was like to be young and, for me at least, rather that keep my head in the sand, I made the choice to teach them about mitigating the dangers of some of the stuff that young adults seem to do with or without parental permission.
It is attitudes like yours that make things nauseating! sm
I will never understand why there is no room for Santa and religion during the holidays!! Santa brings about all the innocence for children. I grew up in a very catholic family and in no way did believing in santa interfere with the religous meaning of the holiday. Santa is fun and innocent for a child to believe in. The world is bad enough to grow up in these days...why would anyone not want to believe in santa?? That is what is nauseating. Just my opinion.
we've had our squblles/differences over the years...sm
but we still speak to one another at least 2-3 times week...I live 1004 miles away from them...We talk about everything and nothing...What's for dinner?...Have you poked your spouse in the eye with a sharp stick yet?...How's Mommy doin'?....Kids, animals, politics, music, lots of trivia...
I miss the 3-part harmony and team cooking especially during the holidays. Cat

He gave up his parental rights; end of story.

Differences in people is what makes the world go round. There's no cut and dried anything anymore
department store, where there is no food being served, and her "baby" isn't being a problem, then you shouldn't have the BIG problem with it that you obviously have. I know my dog is a dog, but I have trained her to be quite well behaved, so I don't have a problem taking her around. Only you are the one who is taking this whole thing as rude. I take my dog into the mall all the time and it's no big deal. I'm not being rude or discourteous to anyone and I mind my own business. It really sounds like you need to do the same. Live and let live.
