Short answer: Yes, it's VERY rude. Long answer inside.
I wouldn't want my husband to ask, either. In fact, if he did and the people said yes, I still wouldn't go and stay with them, because I'd feel like they were pressured. Believe me, if they wanted you to come and stay with them at any point in the last 10 years, they'd have asked you. I, too, live near a vacation destination, and I hate it when people ask to stay with me. They're the rude ones for asking, but it puts me in an uncomfortable position of trying to politely say no. And it seems that when I do say no, the thwarted "guest" then complains to everyone else in our social circle that we are cheap, mean and unwelcoming.
Tell your husband to crack open the wallet and pay for a hotel.
Your probably not gonna like this but
I had/have the same problem. I finally made up my mind to exercise, so I joined the local YMCA. I couldn't believe how much better I felt. Unfortunately, I haven't gone back since before Christmas -- and guess what? -- I'm started to feel the fatigue coming back.
I live in horrible winter weather country, so walking doesn't appeal to me during winter months. It is very difficult to make up your mind and do something about it, even though ya know your going to feel better. I'll get there - Good luck
gonna get along without you now by
skeeter davis (really ooold)when I was younger. now it would more likely be This Gun for Hire!lol

i dont even know if ill be a mom by that age!
Im not gonna lie...
those swiffer jet commercials got me.
so i have one. It works fine for regular mopping, but i haven't really had to SCRUB the floor since i bought the house so not sure... plus i have laminate wood floor not ceramic so not sure if there would be a difference...
it it's gonna cause a problem to say something,
give her only a little bit of candy each day, she's 9, she'll understand why too much is bad, and if mom is already packing stuff away, then the kid isn't missing it, so donate it to a thrift shop.
did you say she is gonna be in the circus?

Guess I'm gonna have to git my gun
As I sit here in the middle of the night pecking my lil ol fingers to the bone once again something has the dogs extremely upset. This has happened twice now... dogs barking and growling and staying all upset for about an hour, then something hits the side of my house, they continue to bark and carry on nonstop for about 30 minutes after that then they finally shut up. First time it happened called my hubby, he told me to get his big shotgun and told me which shells went in it. It's still got the shells in the chamber, all I gotta do is pump it and fire. I guess if it is somebody it's gonna scare the H*** out of them and maybe they will leave me alone. Hey, who knows, might actually be some stress relief while I'm sitting here working on crap and not making anything more than peanuts! Heheheheee... maybe next time it happens it will coincide with the PMS monster.
Thanks everyone - I'm gonna try your ideas and see how it goes! (nm)

And I'm gonna applaud yours!
I agree, although I am not quite old enough to be a grandma yet, we still got spankings, but not too many because after 1 or 2, we usually learned our lesson. I spank my kids too, when they need it, just a swat on the butt usually does the trick. I also agree with the switches suggestion, better yet make HIM go pick it...good luck and God bless!
I'm gonna have to jump out on a ...
limb here and say that you don't deserve the two kids that you have since you aren't talking to one because of money and you get mad at your other child for calling you and asking if you are upset. OMG......seriously. Get your head checked!
You're gonna lose your man if you don't at least
Men may act macho, but they have feeling, too and like to feel attractive and loved.

Sucks I have to work tomorrow, but I will take a lunch break to see the end.
Great for you, I am gonna insist this
afternoon on just that. I read just this past week about the loss of hair and Synthroid. I am really determined this time to not take the Synthroid like he wants me to but instead getting the Armour. Except for the terrible itching I had when first diagnosed (in the late 80s) I cannot tell any difference taking or not taking the thyroid preparations, - have never been on the armour- was using levothyroxine prior to the Synthroid. Going to see this dear physician in about an hour. Thanks!
I just KNOW ur all gonna say that teaching doesn't (sm)
pay well, either. It doesn't not in most cases. But with her skills, degree & experience, she quickly got into an unusual teaching circumstance where the pay was triple what most educators make, and later she went on to train and eventually supervise other teachers.

Gonna catch flak for this, but what I would do
is get a bunch of switches and light his legs up any and every time he wants to be as bad as you are saying. I probably could guarantee with the sting you are not going to have to put up with that type of behavior day after day. Of course, with people trying to be so politically correct they will say no spanking/switching/beating, etc., etc. but YOU are the one having to deal with this out of control child.
Ok, now I am gonna feel like a bad catmamma
I do not want to torture, only to clean these guys- they both have dander really bad.
Well of course you're not gonna buy a bag with a hole in it, even if you put it there! LOL nm

. My mom always worked outside the home after I was about 5. Dad worked nights, so I was the designated cook and housekeeper. Possibly the reason I despise housework today!
Hippies never scared me, most that I met were pretty cool. What I meant was that while I thought the war was dumb, I was too young to be passionate enough to protest or anything like that. Seeing Led Zeppelin as an opening act was worth it to be as old as I am now...well maybe not, but there's nothing I can do about my age except lie about it.

Tell me my foot isnt gonna fall off!!
I had what I think is a blood vessel to burst in my foot on the side. My hubs says not a big deal, and maybe it is not but it seems to have spread a little, not over the top of the foot but bigger on the side of the foot. Had anyone had a similar happening? I am one of the older MTers so might just be an aging thing? Thanks.

Fellow workers, you are gonna be proud of me!
I just sent email to a national morning program, has a guy and girl on there. I was watching the other morning, a wife and son on explaining about how her husband suffered extensively with pain, unable to get medications because, you know, some call it drug seeking? Well, come to find out through son being tested, this father had some sort of syndrome (sorry, do not remember the name) and finally died having suffered for years, unable to live a decent life, bedridden. On the panel was the wife, son, a physician and another person The wife started to say something and was cut off immediately but the lady host saying "Well, are you a physician?" The wife said no and the host said "Well, let the doctor speak then." I wrote this host this morning to let her know IF she worked in the field she would know physicians make plenty of mistakes- we clean them up all the time, right? I said people who do not know tend to hold physicians up as gods but if you worked in this field you would certainly know better. I tried to get Megace for hubby 1 time because not eating, lost appetite, starving actually and was told by physician would not help. I switched doctors, got the prescription and hubby regained appetite. Having typed on that for aid in TB patients as well as human immunovirus patients in regaining appetites, I knew better. I feel a whole lot better about myself right now!!
Yeah, I was gonna suggested a 'smackin'...
as the 'or' word, but I'm working on being more, um, understanding I guess is the word I'm looking for. And you know what, it's reeeeely reeeeely hard in cases like these!
You guys are gonna give me a complex!
That is so incredibly sweet of you all to worry about me like this! I am truly just fine. Since I "quit" my job a couple of weeks ago (which I reneged on anyway because I'm a complete tool), I've been working almost nonstop. Tonight marks the first "weekend" I have had off since that time...oh what, 4 weeks now? And let me tell you, I am totally fried.
However, this is a good thing. I got off that darned pager and will now start work on a regular schedule. I can feel the stress melt away already...well, job related stress anyway.
I had to hit the grocery store last night, something I haven't done in about 2 weeks, and I nearly vomited. Last time I left the property gas was well, diesel is what I use, was a whopping $2.99. It is now up to $3.35/gallon! A gallon of 2% milk is $4.69. Bread is $3.14/loaf for the crappy stuff and orange juice is just a tad over $3.00/half gallon. I got 4 bags of absolute bare necessities at the grocery store and it cost $70!! Holy crap! No red meat (well, weeners), no fish, no dairy. How on earth do people with families do it?!
This will be the first winter we have no oil in the tank for home heat, as that is also almost $3/gallon! However, I think we have enough firewood. Scary times my friends and I'm really worried about our fellow Mainers. We have a lot of elderly here in Maine who are really struggling on a good day, never mind the challenges of our winters. There used to be a heating program that would provide reduced-cost fuel...not this year. Reserves are empty in the whole state. Sad and frustrating situation for many, many people and I don't wanna point fingers or nuthin, but the only ones who aren't suffering or seem to have a clue tend work out of D.C., know what I'm sayin?
So, yeah, that's my overdue rant I guess. Thank you again for all who have e-mailed and posted here. I appreciate it more than you will ever know. Once I have things caught up around here, I will sit down and say hello one-on-one. Take care of each other. Rough times are afoot.
I knew I was gonna get zinged ;-) It's all good.
I'm a stubborn old goat. I just call them 'rheumatisms' because that's the old fart in me coming out. Ever see the old cartoon with this old farmer guy who had this toe that went crazy when the weather turned bad? That's what I picture myself as...that old coot. Gravity was never my friend and being a bit of a tomboy, I always played kinda hard and now I'm just paying for it...at least I think that's what's happenin'. The fatigue isn't so bad now either now that our daylight minutes are slowly creeping up. Plus I'm on a high dose of Lexapro and I think that's helping to keep both my melon and my aches in check. Always a bonus.

No! That sounds too desperate. TIME. Just give it TIME. If it is real, then sm
something will definitely evolve. If you like him, flirt back! Don't act desperate because if he DOES like you, then the suspense will just make him want to get to know you more. Trust me on this.
I worked in the medical records department of a hospital when I was single and dated a few co-workers in my early 30s. It was fun. Nothing serious came about any of the relationships.
This sounds like fun - the beginning of maybe something to come....Keep us informed.
Totally agree, get these from time to time since teens...sm
It's a neuro condition, it does not mean there is anything at all wrong with you, it is actually related to narcolepsy, hypnagogic (sp? I just got up!) hallucinations, etc. And I HATE when I get these, it is always freaky, my siblings get this too, at times. I can "go away" for years and years before you get another episodes, so don't worry! I heard that when you are under a lot of stress or are very busy with things that this happens more??? Take care!!
It's time to stop when you or the kid(s) feel it is time, and no sooner. sm
My grandmother (who passed away at the young age of 107 back in the mid 1990s) was STILL celebrating every little holiday for all of her many kids and grandkids, and she would STILL give me a chocolate bunny every Easter, as she had since I was a toddler and even though I was 40ish at the time (and I still delighted in biting its head off in front of her, as I had also done since I was a toddler, which always met with mock disapproval from her).
Don't let anyone dampen your joy in celebrating your traditions.

The guy sounds like a psycho.
Rachael Ray has a segment from time to time
on using the bottom of the bottle receipes (i.e. bar-be-q sauce, peanut butter, maple syrup) and I have used many of her ideas and been amazed at how far you can stretch a dollar that way. Go to her website, it will give you many ideas.
Oh Amy, surely there was a man who "kept" you from time to time..
or you were at least married and had access to money!
It was a great time - I just hate the time we are in now
I liked your post. Thanks for replying It's nice to know other people were raised like me. We seem to appreciate the things we have. Oh I should've also said we didn't have A/C growing up. My parents idea of A/C was having my sister and I wave a piece of cardboard in front of them. HA HA HA.
I just couldn't stand the 90s and 2000s are even worse. I hate all the politics going on today, the world events, the bleak future. The degenerates running around, listening to kids talk back to their parents, girls gone wild, etc, etc. I'm grateful my grandparents and mom are not alive anymore to have to go through this with us.
I love watching old movies and the music of the 40s/50s. If I was alive back then I would've been doing the jitterbug and all those other fun dances. Life seemed simpler and cleaner (even though I've got a mouth like a sailer - guess I got that from my Army days).
I wouldn't mind the turn of the century either. I love the clothing and the simple life. Those are the times when the husband took care of the wife. If I could be transported back to the 1800s I surely would in a second.
Wish I had the answer...
up at 2:45 a.m. to get DH off to work, then type from 3:00 am to 5:00 am, then back to sleep till 8:00 am. That's when my 2 yo grandson comes for the day... back to typing at 7:00 p.m. and hopefully done by 10:00 or 11:00 pm. Then off to bed... Try to eat healthy, get some exercise... but at night I do need a shot of caffeine to keep going.. also need to take frequent breaks just to move around to stay away... I used to think that I need more hours in the day.. but then I think I would just end up doing more and more and still not getting sleep... Oh well, only two more years until my DIL is done with nursing school... I hope I can hold out until then.
