In Reply to: Feeding two dogs - WorriedMom

feed them once a day, at about the same time, the measured amount with same dish for each dog. (Its 2 cups for my 48 lb dog.) That way, they don't get overweight. If you feed while you're close by, you can make sure that the dogs eat from their own bowls. They tend to know too which bowl is theirs. They'll likely start cleaning it up within 5-10 minutes once they get used to the routine. I used to feed like you, and my dog got overweight. Now instead of nitpicking, she'll eat it all at once. You can at least try this for a week; hope it helps. My daughter feeds 2, and this method works for them too. p.s. sometimes for a 'treat' i'll just get some hot water and moisten with that -- brings out the smells/flavors!
