years ago. A pharmacist put together a concoction for me that included urea -- it really helped alot. I was told NOT to use hot water and not to use soap. I hope she can get some relief.

Help for eczema, please!
Hi all:

My daughter, who is 16, has had eczema for years. When she was in third grade or so, she had such terrible flares that she would have large welts that would bleed. She saw several derm docs, tried all types of steroid creams, etc. and nothing helped. I finally tried an old Chinese juice that nourishes from within and it cleared her eczema up in a few weeks. She's been flare free for years until April of this year. This time, the juice is not doing it for her. I've washed all her bed covers and sheets and clothing in Dreft, using no soap soap, cotton only clothing, Cetaphil daily, etc. Does anybody have any tips or ideas? She's just miserable and the backs of her legs are covered; it has spread from the backs of her knees to down her calves and up her thighs. She cannot even wear shorts out in public because people stare and treat her like she has a contagious disease, not to mention the pool is open and she wants to go swim.

Thanks!
Eczema suggestions
I would try the derm docs again. There are new preparations all the time. Elidel does come with lots of warnings, but they have to be so careful from a legal standpoint these days that the warnings, truthfully, are almost meaningless. It's an excellent med for eczema. And there are even newer ones than Elidel. Finally, try the homeopathic preparations (such as the Chinese juice and zinc suggestion) too. Young Living out of Utah makes several excellent oils for different problems, and have a juice that sounds much like the one you tried before. And most importantly, limit her shower and bathing time, use a non-soap cleanser such as Cetaphil (their moisturizer is also excellent) and decrease the temperature of the water. Good luck!
I have had that for years. Eczema. sm
You need to go see a dermatologist.

I had really bad issues with it about 10 years ago. I had to have medications to get it under control.

Make sure you keep moisturized. If you have any allergies, they can make it worse. Eventually, it will calm down.

I have an interesting one for ya, as I made this connection years and years back. I used to be on birth control pills. The break outs were the worst while I was on them. About 6 years ago I got a tubal done and went off the pills. The eczema calmed way down after about a month.

Most of my breakouts were on my palms and fingers, but soon spread to my arms and neck, and then to my face. It was miserable, so I have to say I feel for you.

Go see a dermatologist, please!
Say a tubal ligation got rid of your eczema, wanna know how I got rid of mine?
Had severe eczema on my hands, thought once would lose my fingernails. I got divorced, the eczema went away and never returned. True story.
