How about being honest with him and tell him how annoying it is when he does that and ask him to be more careful the way he talks and stop and think and be patient??? Would he listen ?

I used to do this to my husband and I had to realize it and stop myself when I've got the urge to start talking when he is talking and make myself wait my turn. It is hard to do and sometimes you don't realize you're doing it. It is a learned process of learning to be patient.

Talk to him about it and see what happens.
