horsefly attacked my kid --

Dang, this dinosaur-sized creature latched onto my 6-y/o kid on Saturday at a pool party. My man-friend grabbed it off him immediately, revealing a huge, quarter-sized bruise. Yesterday, the bruise was gone, just a red splotch with a tiny hole in the center. Now, 48 hours later, he has a cluster of about a dozen little blisters. The topper to this, though, is that Jr. has extreme dermatographism with majorly sensitive skin and is allergic to everything -- prone to outbreaks of extreme hives, for which he's on loratadine 10 mg b.i.d. I have no clue about horseflies --- any advice?

Why do people get attacked on here?
You know I was just reading the below thread from the upset stepmom. I think it is so sad how so many people come to this board when they need support and during their time of need, they just end up getting attacked. Do these attackers ever think about their impact on the person who originally posted the thread? That person could be severely depressed and they are making them feel even worse. I just do not understand why these people who do not agree with the original poster just can't keep their mouths shut (fingers still) and go on to the next thread. The person is looking for support, not insults. Just like we are taught in kindergarten...If you do not have anything nice to say, then do not say anything at all. This is the most unfriendly and abusive discussion board I have even seen. There are much nicer MT boards and I am joining those. I am sick of the attacks on this board. These attacking posters have become mean, hurtful, hardhearted and noncaring. Maybe they are miserable in their own lives and want to trashtalk others on here. I personally think they should get a life.
