Bring him in. My BIL had this a few weeks back...
went in, had cath done and had two 70-75% stenosed arteries, CHF, 10% function and may need a transplant. They stabilized him with meds and he is at home with a cardiac vest. He has not felt well for the past year, but kept putting the doctor visit off. Of course, they told him that had he come in sooner it wouldn't be this bad. Good luck.

there was no one around. I know the moderator on this board takes offense to others pointing out spelling errors to others as well as calling other people names here and you will be banned for doing what others are doing with what I posted. The meeting had not started. You do understand now, right?
My daughter was drinking heavily, she didn't know that I knew but she would
act strange and when I would try to come close to her casually, she would pull away. I waited til she fell asleep and could smell the booze on her breath. The next day I told her I would buy lunch if she could go grab it and when she left I went in her room and found to stashed bottle of some cheap rum. I know it sounds bad but I put some ipecac in the bottle and then waited. I didn't put much, but it was effective. She blew chunks and blew and blew. She thought she just got sick, but about a week later I did it again and after she got sick that time, that was the end of her drinking. Smart girl, eh? She somehow figured out that drinking rum made her sick! I may sound like a terrible mom, but I also don't have a drunk for daughter now either.

And even if they do dispute it, it does not mean the employee won't get workman's comp for it. A LOT of companies dispute claims. If they didn't 80% of their workforce would be out on Workman's Comp. Some people never leave the high school mentality. Don't let it get you down, even as hard as that may be. As far as the little boy, is he an only child? There are a lot of parents that would rather tell a kid to go play a video game than play a game with them because they are busy doing their own thing. We have an Xbox 360, and while my kids (most my son) do play it, it is not just to give them something to do. There are some good things about video games, as long as they are age-appropriate. They help build hand-eye coordination. I think there was even a story about surgeons playing them because of how much remote-assisted surgeries are being done now. As far as board games here, we just got the game of Life and have been playing it lately -- the kids absolutely love it! They also love Uno, Monopoly, and SkipBo. I told them the best thing about these games is that we can play them even if the lights go out (this was during hurricane season).

One thing I don't see that really will matter especially with these more agressive breeds...are they fixed? If one or both of these are intact males, all bets are off. You do not want to attempt to bring them together if they are intact males because that will change everything.
IMO, you and your neighbor may want your dogs to friends but in all likehood they don't. They are each used to their own territory and if they have not been socialized up to this point, then bringing a strange adult dog into their home will only set them up to fail. In all honesty, your dog is probably going to be happier staying at home without you then going with you to the neighbors.

Have seen it both ways, have seen marriages bust up over people meeting OTHERS online and I have seen people meet and marry from meeting online but I must say the former (marriages busting up from meeting OTHERS online) far outweighs the latter......been online nearly 13 years now.

Could she possibly be switched to another class instead of swimming for now? I would have a family meeting with kids and husband.
Your husband should be able to have what he wants and he needs to voice this to his children. It will make it a lot easier for you when the time comes if everyone is on the same page.

You said this was in the course of a meeting, which leads me to believe you were not only correcting her, but doing it in front of other people. OUCH.
People using terms like "learn-ed," "ex-cape" and "axt" make me break out in a nervous rash if I have to listen to them for too long, but I would never correct someone for it.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Elder care is so difficult; I believe their bodies are so fragile that a single event can take them so quickly. Hindsight is nearly always 20/20 but I honestly believe most doctors and facilities do the best they can. We nearly lost my 80-yo MIL a year ago to similar circumstances, and it made us all aware, including her, that she cannot take anything for granted and that every day is a gift.
Regarding your concerns on her salvation, please don't take that burden onto yourself or play the "what if" game, it will only torture you. Lean on Him and trust in that. (((hugs)))

I hope your son realizes we all make mistakes (including him) and that he finds it in his heart to forgive. Your grandchildren need to know you and vice versa. I truly hope it all works out for you. My dad and I were estranged even after I repeatedly attempted to reconcile and he died without ever meeting my children. So sad.

I got an email saying I never loved my brother and I should share what my father gave me with my SIL. I do not owe her 1 red cent. When my brother died in the early 70s she got a settlement then of between $350,000 and $400,000. Do you realize how much money that was then? My mother tried really hard to have the courts set up some kind of guardenship for their 2 minor children (her son's children) so they would have something to live on in later years. Being as my mother was only the grandmother, the courts would not allow this. The money gotten in the settlement was literally squandered. Just for the record, the 3 g'children she spoke of the other day included 2 of her's and 1 being mine. The really bottom line on this was the g'children would have never been able to keep the property because between the 3 of them they basically did not have 1 nickel to rub amongst them. I was paying and had paid prior to my father's death the insurance on the property and the property taxes also. The 3 g'children could not have done it. It takes a lot to keep a property up. My aunt told me is that is water under the bridge, a done deal. Before emailing you should have your facts straight.
BTW make absolutely certain that correct contact info is on the request for IEP meeting....nm

It really surprised me, and I was very touched by it. I remember thinking at that time, all these countries we've helped and the only place that sends help our way is poor ol' Mexico.
Don't feel like sending Christmas cards this year
Christmas is next week. Got pix of the family to put in the cards, and tons of Christmas cards from last year's Christmas sales. Every day, I say, I will do these cards. At least to grandma and grandpa on both sides. Every day, I put it off. DH got a roll of stamps and he has the cards sitting on his nightstand with pix, he has not done any either.
Thus far we got several newsletters from people, saying they did this, they did that, they celebrated this birthday, their kid did this and that. We don't plan to do a newsletter this year, b/c it seems to me these newsletters sound so self-centered! They are not even from family members, they are from DH coworkers and such.
My friends send me e-cards pretty much or we chat over the I-net. We send holiday greetings and catch up that way. My son will be getting grandma and grandpa's on both sides presents the end of the week, and I think I will just put the pictures in the packages when I send and forget about the cards.
This is really sad. Years ago, Dec 1 we'd get a bunch of cards and have ours sent out. Different colors of ink on the envelopes, red and green, holiday stamps, it would be so fun. All the cards we'd get my dad or I would put on a board in shape of a tree and we'd put it on the wall.
Now, it seems with snail mail, and so many other worries about cutting budget, finding enough work, I am not in the mood to write cards. Maybe it will become a thing of the past, and the boxes of cards will accumulate dust in the top of the closet.

Bring someone with you. Finding a room on craigslist can be a great thing, or it can be a ruse for lowlifes.
If it turns out to be legitimate, get very clear ahead of time on what they expect of you in exchange for rent & that they know you will be working.
