are more than likely plywood. Every mobile home I ever had, and much newer than the one you have, all had plywood floors. I would suggest having a contractor look at those walls too. most of them seem to be load bearing and I personally would not mess with them. But that is just me.

Floors
I bought one about a year ago, rather than buying a new one I bought a definite "fixer upper" and made it into what I wanted. I didn't tear out walls but painted all the paneling, tore out all the carpet - some of the floors were bad and creaked so put down new subfloor and then put down the snap and groove laminate that Home Depot/Lowe's sells -all the work on the floors (14 x 72 plus 2 add on rooms) didn't cost me but about 1300 but we did to it ourselves.
I used to use Mop & Glo on my floors
Vinyl, slate, and wood. It worked great and was easy to use, though my wood floor got darker after about 5 years (golden pine), but could get the buildup off using a credit card (good use for them LOL). The wood underneath was nice and bright again, but never did get around to getting it all off. Need something larger than a credit card.
Best Floors with Pets
I'm considering doing all new floors in my house. Hardwood on the first floor and carpet on the second floor. Any recomendations on what is best (most durable) considering I have a small dog? I really like dark wide plank hardwood but am worried it might show scratches the most. Also I'm thinking berber carpet for the second floor.
Laminate floors
We have laminate floors in our study and while for the most part I am very satisfied, the area under our computer chairs is getting very worn (this is a brand new house, we moved in in July 2006). I got one of those clear vinyl floor mats for under my chair to minimize further damage but my husband refuses to do that for his and it's looking worse every day. What kills me is the laminate in the study was *his* idea. Go figure.
Anyway....if it were me, I would still consider the laminate, but put down rugs in any high-traffic areas. Laminate looks good and for regular household areas like a kitchen or dining room it should be fine.
Laminate floors
Does anyone have laminate flooring in their home, and what have you found to be a good cleaner? I had laminate floors in my previous home and had no problems with it whatsoever, as far as streaking, etc. So, I put it almost through my new house, but it streaks at times. Any suggestions?
Laminate floors
Misha, how do you clean your laminate floors? I had laminate in our previous home and had no problems with streaking with what I cleaned it with. My new home has a large area of pergo (5 rooms), and I am having problems with streaking, even though I use the same product I had at our previous home. Can't figure this one out? Any info would help me out a lot. Thanks.
Getting new hardwood floors. They are going to put down pre-finished. (sm)
I haven't picked out style and colors yet. I know I don't want really dark or really light, but there are sure a lot of variations in between. Different size planks too. Anyone had good/bad experiences with the prefinished ones?
Sorry, that is plank vinyl floors
I second that. I love my hardwood floors (sm)
It just makes your house look spacious and clean. I live in Florida and all of my friends have the hardwood floors throughout their house. We have had to slowly replace the tile, so at times we had tile and hardwood and it did not look bad, but looks so much better with the same flooring throughout the house. Good luck with your decision. I just went out and bought the Shark Steamer, only used it once, but so far I like how well it keeps the floors clean.
Yeah, I really want hardwood floors. The house
came with the tile, and I hate it. I want to change it all out one of these days.
Thanks for the info. I will go ahead and get me one and try it. :)
Refinish plant vinyl floors....
It has been six years since we put in plank vinyl (wood look) floors and they no longer shine like they use to. Any recommendations on what to use and can you use anything? Thanks
We have cherry wood floors next to lighter
xx
'Brite'. That stuff is awesome for shining up old floors.
