often these are triggered by stress. I used to get them all the time until my mom told me to get rutin from a health food place and take it for 1 month. I did and it was 3 years before I had another blister outbreak!

Vitamin E also works well. Get the liquid capsules at the store and just pop one and use the liquid inside; generally works overnight for me.
Does anybody know what helps get rid of fever blisters really fast. I just got some and they are
not very nice looking on my lips.
I am getting a lot of fever blisters on my lip lately and am wondering what triggers them. I drink
a lot of sugar substitute drinks and am wondering if this could be doing this. Anyone ever figure out anything like this as far as triggers.

High Fever
Have you tried cool compresses along with the Tylenol? Maybe that'll help. I hope she feels better soon. I have a four year old and it's awful when she's sick. Also, does she have any other symptoms. When my older daughter was young she spiked high fevers a lot and they were always viral infections and you just had to wait it out and give Tylenol or Motrin every six hours to break the fever.
Low grade fever again
I am so tired of this....seems like every time I turn around, I am running a low grade fever (99.0 up to 99.3, my normal is around 97.6). The temperature itself would not be concerning, but I can tell by the way I feel, even before I take my temp, that it's running high.
I have allergies and develop sinusitis very easily. In the past couple of months, I have taken three rounds of antibiotics because of low grade fever accompanied by sinus symptoms (pain, pressure, yucky green phlegm, etc.). That's the first time I've taken antibiotics in ages - I have to be pretty desperate to take them, because I don't want to develop a resistance to them.
Now I've got the fever again but no sinus symptoms. Anybody have any clues what else it could be? I mean, I don't hurt anywhere, I don't have any symptoms except the fever. I know I need to go in and get a complete workup; in fact, I have one scheduled for September 5 (that's the earliest appointment my doctor had). I'm just sick of feeling lousy.
4-year-old with a very high fever and I
just can't remember what to do to break the fever. The fever is 102.3 now and I have given her a Tylenol chewable tablet this morning and another chewable at 2:00 p.m. Any suggestions...???
My animals have spring fever
MY 2 cars, one is 13+ and the other is almost 7 are bugging me along with my dog to play, and just pay some attention to them. It is nice outside and they sure have the spring bug. Hard to resist them. Just took the dog for a long run in the park with another neighbor's puppy and though it would calm her down but now, she bring in her stuffed animals and when I ignore her she will throw them at my chair to get my attention. So I keep taking 5 to 10 minutes to play and now am behind. Oh well, it only happens a couple of times a year so gotta enjoy it. But even the 13 year old is sitting on my desk, which she never does, and playing with my papers, pens, knocking things down and then just looking at me, like "Did I do that." But it is so nice here in Portland today, up to 60 gotta take advantage as will probably rain tomorrow.
ugh, agree. the worst. fever, too.
they give you antibiotics and you have to drink a ton of water - which, at the beginning, makes it hurt worse as the water flushes, like a hot knife twisting. After a day of medication it will start to lighten up.
Get your butt to the doctor now because it can spread down to the bladder, and that's another kind of pain you don't want on top of the kidney pain.
cool baths burn with fever
I discovered cool baths really burn when you have a high fever. Maybe tepid to slightly warm may be better.
In our family that is called "Present Fever" and there is no cure.
The only thing that has been successful for us so far are distraction tactics that keep them busy away from the tree and, in dire situations away from the house.
We also use empty "decoy" boxes under the tree (this started years ago when the little ones and the puppy would unwrap random gifts at random times), and we tell everyone they are getting socks and underwear, and that is all. Then we put there actual gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve.
My brothers and I all had present fever, but I cannot remember what our mother did to keep from being driven bonkers. I will have to ask and get back to you.
the increased mucus could be causing him to throw up. but with the fever... ???
I would give it 2 days. if the fever persists he needs to be seen. could be a number of different things. there are many different types of flu's.. so its hard to say.
Looks like you signed and are liable. Sorry you had a fever when you signed.
